Thank You!! It was a rough weekend on the delta overall. Only one fish on the Mullet, but we got three bass on the chatterbait with the darter as a trailer. You don't know it, but you accidentally made one of the best bladed jig trailers on the market with the darter. The hook slot delete is a MUST if you're using it on a bladed jig. I have some ideas for Jason on how to make a specific bladed jig trailer. based on the darter. little bit thicker body to fill out the skirt of the bladed jig, and slightly bigger tail to flap around back there, maybe even an exaggerated split tail to entice a strike.... The ideas are flowing...

It's not just a tail, but the bait wag paddle is snuck in there. Beautiful bait colors. Trying to get one soon. The tail wag and silhouette is great. I thought it would be an injection x 2 or 4 but to have this one it doesn't matter.

Your producer 🤣🤣 Some do this for the money, some do it for the love. At $115 for a single 4" open pour, I still say they need to change their name to Epic Price Molds. I do very much like that blue back color, GREAT JOB THERE!!
@baitchuckin
@baitchuckin Год назад
HA HA, I'm glad the punchlines are working!!! LOL Yeah, the Epic molds are pricy, not going to lie. It all comes down to machine time. The epic molds have a lot of intricate detail on both the inside and outside of the molds, and all the outer 6 sides are all surfaced and polished. All just time on the machines really.

Caught my first fish on it this weekend, but as I'm sure you know because you fish the delta, they aren't really chasing yet. Crankbait, chatterbait, and swimbait are still not huge bites. Seems they only like worms and Ned's in spawning season LOL

Mr. M, Absolutely loved the blood line. That is killer in the 1st degree. 2 color lament was really fine. Detailed to perfection, and I'm already thinking about how I would rig it here in the Texas lakes and creeks. Can't wait to see how you did on the water. Glad you get to sneak away from the shop and make time to " GEAUX FISH "

QUESTION: When you blend a batch you use a special mold and your metal spatula to fill that mold just to see what it's going to look like when it's cured. What is that mold?
@baitchuckin
@baitchuckin Год назад
That is the color test mold from Epic Bait Molds. Just go to their site and in the search bar put color test mold It's a little hidden secret. I believe it's only $25.

On the jig heads, what’s the most common size I need to get? Going to place my order today!
@baitchuckin
@baitchuckin Год назад
I recommend a 1/4 oz. swimbait head for the Mullet mold, as well as a 3/0 hook. a 4/0 will work, but the hook comes through right in the middle of the top fin, so rigging can be tricky for the beginner.
@chrishebert3240
@chrishebert3240 Год назад
Do you have a link to sho us exactly what colors and glitters to use and how many drops to use?
@baitchuckin
@baitchuckin Год назад
I list the exact recipes I use in all of my videos down in the description as well as links to the molds and tackle used in the video. I also put up the recipe on screen so folks can pause and look at that as well.

Did you pour them upside down?
@baitchuckin
@baitchuckin 8 месяцев назад
Yes, The mold is designed to be poured upside down.
@chrishebert3240
@chrishebert3240 Год назад
Another question I got is it important to heat up the mold before pouring the mold? I didn’t have what you use but I do have a heat gun and I’ve seen others use a flat cooking skillet to heat up the mold.
@baitchuckin
@baitchuckin Год назад
yes, any inexpensive skillet from the local store will work. I recommend pouring your molds with the skillet / mold at 220F - 250F and then once your colors are all poured, turn the hot plate up to 350F and bake it for 10 minutes, then turn off the heat and let it slow cool. (Takes about 20 min to cool down)
@chrishebert3240
@chrishebert3240 Год назад
@@baitchuckin thanks for the information. Every little bit helps!
@chrishebert3240
@chrishebert3240 Год назад
@@baitchuckin couple more questions. When heating up the mold on the skillet, does it mater if it’s standing up or laying down on its side when baking it? And is it necessary to put your plastersol in chamber to get rid of the air bubbles?
@baitchuckin
@baitchuckin Год назад
@@chrishebert3240 You need to keep your mold upright or the plastisol will ooze out the side. The de-gassing chamber is dependent on what brand of plastisol you are using. If you are using MF or Bait Plastics you should be OK without a vacuum chamber for personal use. If you are using Dead On Plastix then you will most definitely need a vacuum chamber for good results. Regardless if brand, if I'm selling a bait, they go in the vacuum chamber. Nobody wants to pay for air bubbles.
@chrishebert3240
@chrishebert3240 Год назад
@@baitchuckin I thought of that after I said that! Lol I was thinking it would just run out. I’ll have to see what kind of plastersol I ordered to see if I’ll need to get the gas chamber or not, but probably not a bad idea to get it anyway to get rid of the bubbles! I also do custom tumblers and I have to put a torch or heat gun to the epoxy after I put it on the tumbler to pop all the micro bubbles!
