@@gcharb2d blender is free and open source. And it is not financed like a Houdini. Incorrect comparison. But if change Blender to Maya or Max it is will be a true and correct comparison.
Amazing release guys, good job! The great thing about Copernicus is that now it is possible to create 100% procedural assets in Houdini, including textures. That was the final piece we needed for such level of proceduralism.
Plenty of those, look at the Learning Path on SideFX websites, Robert Magee Foundations series for beginners, Moeen Sayed (Nine Between) for beginner's and intermediate tutorials, Entagma for more advanced tutorials, Christian Bohm has a close to 90 hours online course for Houdini, and so on, I learned pretty much all of Houdini with what is already available, you only need to apply yourself!
There is no company in the world like Houdini that releases such advanced tools. It seems there is a stagnation among other companies - until AI takes over everything ;)
@@MrJemabaris Hi everyone, Od Studios here... This was apparently a post processing issue when the clip was uploaded to RU-vid. It was awesome live. Maybe in the near future, we'll have the clip up on it's own for all to enjoy. But for now, enjoy the visuals! We hope to show you more of the of the Luchador and Chicken in the near future!
Max and Maya 2025 annual release notes: Well.....we added a new loading splashscreen image and cleaned up some of the typos in the documentation......$$$ee you next year.....
the animation context from H20 and these new updates, make Houdini the reasonable place to do all character animation. 🎉 very intuitive. job well done. 🙇🏾♂️
the character animation tools are insane. realtime wrinkles too? APEX is finally here to kill. i love that it is physics based as well. MPM + vellum + rbd seem like a very psychopathic combination, moving forward. and COPS upgrade + OFX in COPS? man we are blessed
So many great features are coming, I'm glad to have made the decision to start learning Houdini about half a year ago. Hopefully Copernicus will also work with other render engines like Redshift and Octane, etc.
I remember in the early 2000s doing an entire vfx shot from start to finish in Houdini using cops. The studio I was at used cops as the main comp package. Always wondered why SideFX didn’t continue to dev cops earlier and let the foundry take over. So much easier to work in one software. Glad they’re back on track.
@szymonsniegocki528 I need to try it because I try to compare it with the current workflow and I don't understand how it fits and changes between maybe larger clusters up to grain particles. houdini magic
My third time watching the video, dang, H20.5 has seen more development in 8 months than Blender in the last 5 years, you guys are incredible, real legends!
I think my favorite thing is being able to put the properties panel in a windo wich should stop m,y window manager from being unable to display it for seemingly 0 reason.
Cops will open up texturing materials 2d fx for animation and games. Could do motion graphics. 2d to 3d modelling. Opens up ai options as well as eventually compositing.
The depth map example on Capy is a really interesting case. You can generate depth maps from video, say of someones head and map on fx work without neccesarily modelling them, skipping modelling rigging and body tracking. Not a high end solution and all very dependant on the quality of the depth maps but really starts to drive home what 2D smahing into 3D might look like.
Btw since everyone here is probably listening. I was wondering if you could somehow automatically adjust your Texel density ov UV`s to where details get smaller when you are sculpting behind the scenes to reduce memory footprint when sculpting. And then every so much time store some of the height field as deformed geometry on the mesh to save memory. But what do I know, you’re probably already doing awesome things.
Really interested to see the viewport performance of those tools. Especially the viewport texture painting and sculpting tools. So many possibilities and so many questions!
hopefully no becuz sidefx is gearing up to prepare houdini as one stop 3d package. Already it has done and set up so many stuffs from get go... all you need is the patience for final render INSIDE houdini. If anybody demands easy export import functionality to softwares like blender or maya then these same ppl should have guts to learn houdini instead. Likewise they said, houdini is easy to learn not mastering it.
