Once again, having finished this tutorial and the Patronus one, I have to say that you definitely have strong teaching skills. Of course, I am not able to recreate these shots on my own without looking over your videos, but this will come with practice (hopefully).
That's completely normal. In my early days I would rewatch Stephen Knipping's Applied Houdini series maybe 10 times over until I finally got the jist. To this day I still have to reference other tutorials when creating
Great tutorial, thanks for making such good work and sharing it! I’m currently working through your ‘Magical Hand Assembly’ course by the way, and it’s excellent 👏🏻👏🏻
at the very start when applying transformations to the hammer to center it, when I go in and rotate i see the pivot also rotating. I am worried this might be the reason why, later on, the trasnformation seems to apply to the result of the extracted transformation. is there more to the transform node and I'm not getting it?
Usually I render in Redshift since I found its the fastest and most reliable. Houdini plans to discontinue Mantra and they will focus on Karma moving forward, so I don't recommend investing any time in Mantra right now
@@tanishqgupta8330 Unfortunately yes! There is a free 30 day trial (I think) It's well worth the money however, it's by far the most capable rendering engine out there
@@voxyde While true, Karma is able to use VEX-based shaders apart from the MatX ones. The Karma ROP is essentially Mantra on drugs, can be used like Mantra (outside of lopcontext/stage) and outperforms Mantra. Also Karma is licensed software, thus some VFX houses will stay with Mantra for a while before moving on when it comes to FX. No reason to recommend someone to stay away from Mantra..
