I’m so sad she left. She was perfect for this band and she has a incredible voice. Houndmouth it still a great band, but it will never be the same without her.
I agree with what you said about the band and don't know why she left but her new stuff is nowhere close to what Houndmouth did with her in the group. I still think Houndmouth is great, but her new stuff is hard to watch.
@@redeemed7920 Katie toupin she was in band when they first started, but then she left to create her own band and music in my opinion she is not that good unless she is with houndmouth
I saw something that said she left because she didn’t enjoy being on the road constantly. I was sad both times when her and the girl from the Lumineers left their own bands.
Letterman always had the best music guests. I applaud him for showcasing bands most people haven't discovered yet. I was shocked and elated when he had Fat White Family on.
I got a flat in the middle of the Nevada desert a couple years ago just a couple hours outside of Area 51. I played this song to keep me relaxed until help came. One of my favourite songs of all time!!
I've been 8+ years >, the desert totally alone. Send help!. Seeing this performance again is a lovely band aid (get it? lol) right now. I hope you're doing well! ⛈🎈
Reminds me of the father of my son...my once husband. He left me because I chose to drink away my trauma instead of facing it. And God I miss him. I miss our little family. He basically raised our now 10 year old son on his own while I got my shit together. He is now happily remarried...and I still love and will never stop missing him and what could have been.
@@jwhiteout It's time you practiced what you preach, you fucking tool. From the OED: literally 2. c. colloquial. Used to indicate that some (frequently conventional) metaphorical or hyperbolical expression is to be taken in the strongest admissible sense: ‘virtually, as good as’; (also) ‘completely, utterly, absolutely’. kill 6. a. To overwhelm (a person) by a strong impression on the mind, as of admiration, astonishment, alarm, grief, etc.: to impress with irresistible force. Also, to convulse (someone) with laughter; to excite, thrill, delight. (Not that finding a definition makes you right anyway)
🏴🏴🏴 What a brilliant band !!! Never heard of you till tonight, what have we been missing!! I’m gonna make sure I email our big radio stations and complain as to why we have been deprived of this brilliant music for so long. You jst keep up the amazing sounds 👍👍👍
Any press release that includes "wants to explore other options" and "amicable split" means there was an internal power struggle, disagreement about the band's direction or a personality conflict or a combination of the lot.
@@iamJSL33ZY wasn't meant as a slight. I would say its the same situation as sabbath when Ozzie left. Some people enjoyed dio, but personally I enjoyed houndmouth far more with Katie. To answer your question, yes I've heard all of their songs.
I hope they will get back to this line up. They are so much more then the sum of each part together. Ying and the Yang need each side of the whole. Take a minute to watch these kids in their raw element at a high school singing "Hey Rose" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-u_EHXqRjehg.html
I am a hetero male, but I ask all of you to tell me if the bass player does have the face of a super model........I am 65 and just "discovered" this band ONE MONTH ago,, it was this song that was the back ground music for some nature/ fishing vid,,,, and within ten seconds I was in love with this sound,,,,, and ha ha of course being that hetero male I was especially attracted to the keyboard players beauty so the lyrics were cute but I assumed it was just random psyche dellic stuff,, then yesterday I looked up on a website about the meaning of songs,,,,,,,, and to my incredible surprise it turned out that this song is a commentary on a real life event that took place in Sedona Arizona that took place in the 1940's and it is all about a film that got nixxed due to the blacklisting that occurred in the 1940's WOW
The depth of the guitar work really comes to life with that Gretsch White Falcon. Such a pop anthem this is, harkens to another time like 1979 by The Smashing Pumpkins, Here Comes Your Man by The Pixies, The Boys Of Summer by Don Henley, or even Our Lips Our Sealed by The Go Go's. This is destined to be a timeless classic long after I'm gone.
No it doesn't make you sad, it actually is a gorgeous song that evokes such intense emotions that bring some people to tears, which is exactly the effect this song has on me.
Lyrics: The red sandstone, it fell Right smack on top of Sedona Arabella When John Ford said wont you hop on in To the stage coach baby gonna take you for a spin, oh oh Hey little Hollywood You're gone but you're not forgot You got the cash but your credit's no good You flipped the script and you shot the plot And I remember I remember when your neon used to burn so bright and pink A Saturday night kinda pink The blacklist and its hosts Came down so swift and it drove 'em to the coast We're goin California but we're all out of work I guess that's better than a grave and a hearse Hey little Hollywood You're gone but you're not forgot You got the cash but your credit's no good You flipped the script and you shot the plot And I remember I remember when your neon used to burn so bright and pink A Saturday night kinda pink The devil's in a rush And his duct tape makes you hush Hey there Sedona let me cut you a deal I'm a little hung over and I may have to steal your soul, oh oh Hey little Hollywood You're gone but you're not forgot You got the cash but your credit's no good You flipped the script and you shot the plot And I remember I remember when your neon used to burn so bright and pink, so bright and pink A Saturday night kinda pink
when I listen to the parts where she does not sing, I simply enjoy the music. Obviously I am not an expert but a stronger voice would be more appreciated. In other words, her voice is just getting lost in the song.
I was there that night! Had never heard of these guys (until a week before when I researched the guests) but they were fantastic. Still have it DVR'd : )
Boy, Houndmouth really had it all going on at this point, ready for that big leap. Two good-looking guys, one goofy drummer, the cool, pretty chick. And great songs! Great playing. And then--poof! It just never quite came to be, for whatever reason.
This is the only song I've heard by them, and in fact today is the first time I've heard of them (here in 2023), so what do I know. But as a guess, maybe they were perceived as a "me too" band that sounded like so many others of that era, and there was only room for so many to get heavily promoted. Being on "Letterman" is a big deal, but does not guarantee success.
I was in the audience when they performed this. So good. I met Katie’s mom before walking in. She told us to cheer as loud possible when they performed.
@@tomt6142 it has a lot to do about Hollywood today compared to the old. In the 1st Stanza John Ford invites ya into his stagecoach for a spin. John Ford directed the Original Stagecoach in the 60's.
