This cinematic was actually really dope. I haven't been kind of hyped for a League champion in a looooong time.

That was one of the sickest Champion Cinematics in the whole of League of Legends! Kudos to the art and animation team!

What's so interesting about this Darkin is that Naafiri is not a singular being. Rather they are the pack itself. Their consciousness is shared between each hound and there seems to be one main hound Naafiri is using to control the rest. I love this concept!

Wolves biting the sun was definitely a key point on the storyboard for this video from the beginning. So much care put into both the visual and audio design

This is actually hyping me up to see how she will look like and what her kit will be, it looks like a pack of dogs... I wonder how it will turn out

the wolves seeming to corrupt the darkin blade and turning it from a human into a like a werewolf was really cool

Love this frame (1:39). Naafiri devouring the sun looks like a clear reference to Skoll, the giant wolf in Norse mythology who is in charge of pursuing Sunna (the sun) day in and day out. It's as if Naafiri knows her god-like power, and is ready to wreak havoc in Runeterra.

Finally a purely monster champion. Kudos to the cinematic, audio and music department for this one

This is the most intense release trailer I have ever seen. The entire lore is just dumped on us in seconds

good god the team that did the audio and visual design on this trailer made a freaking banger. Reminds me of the berserk music and monster concepts i've seen.

Props to We Are Royale, this cinematic is Arcanes tier, really liked the visuals.

I love the brief glimpse into the void as the transformation begins, the PTSD the Darkin have from battling and holding back its approach may not be nearly as present in their mind as the trauma they endured fighting their brothers and having to witness the collapse of Shurima and everything they hold dear, but still it lingers, and even more so it calls back to how the Darkin to some extent allowed themselves to be willingly corrupted by the Void to grow their power, and the corruption of the void is something that lingers and takes root with the Darkin's corruption of other living beings. The Darkin are in some way the Void's most succesful and sinister weapon against the entirety of Runeterra, because they don't even realize in their quest for eternal rest that they can only achieve via the destruction of reality, they are carrying out the Void's will.

Devouring the sun was a perfect touch! well done riot

this tells more story in 2 minutes than most tv shows do over multiple seasons

Varus - pestilence (i know he represents vengence but his w is called blighted quiver) Aatrox - war (a war general) Rhaast - death (a literall scythe) Naafiri - famine (she hungered now she feasts) Glad all represent a horseman

Cinematic was amazing. Character (who has to be the sword, just controlling the pack) looks insane. Sword looks like Soul Edge. Can't be the only one who sees that.

0:52, This scene with the many hallways, running from the approaching light, and being surrounded by howling/snarling dogs reminds me of LOTR - when the fellowship is running from the awakened Balrog and the being surrounded by a horde of goblins and orcs. I haven't played league in years; but this cinematic wants me to jump back in again. 10/10, amazing video!

Finally riot is making cool champions again im all for it

This makes me heavily think of a Alucard from manga/anime 'Hellsing' and his monstrous hound form with them infinite amount of eyes. Love it!

THIS is it!!! THIS is the riot from the golden era of 2016-2020 where they would drop some of the most meticulously animated champion trailers and themes! Amazing work. I’m excited for this champion, which is something I haven’t said in a long time.

Actual chills down my spine. Those dogs don't just look angry, they look absolutely feral. Like they're not just out to kill, they will absolutely ravish your body down to the bone. I love it!

All things considered, I love the references to Hellsing and Alucard. I initially thought it was a nice coincidence to see one scene, but with two scenes, it's enough for me to believe that the developers drew inspiration from this anime.

Naafiri eating the sun at around 1:38 reminds me of Fenrir eating the sun during Ragnarok! This champion trailer is one of the best we've ever gotten. Edit: In some other versions/interpretations of the myths, his son Skoll eats the sun instead! Skoll and Hati (also Fenrir's son) chase the sun and moon respectively.

I love this cinematic so much. The intensity, the visuals, the storytelling, THE MUSIC.... This is my favourite champion cinematic rn. I'm so excited for Naafiri even tho I don't play assassins.

Hellhounds have always fascinated me. They have been around in Mythologies stretching from all corners of the globe for millennia. The Darkins is such a cool way of introducing them to the League universe. Excited to see what lore they come up with for these Beasts.
