At 67, I'm just now trying HG. I've been researching, and your channel popped up! So glad it did. Your video is the ONLY one out of hundreds that explained it the best to me. I just exchanged the original for Volume II and am waiting for it to arrive. Now, I finally understand these powders per your great video. Im loving these powders and blushes. Thank you ❤ New sub ❤
@@julievenus3670 thank you so much for your amazing comment and subscribing ❤️your comment has filled my heart with you joy, this is has been exactly why I created this channel 🥰I wanted to transfer my knowledge that I’ve learnt from using Hourglass for so many years and I am soo happy this has helped you!! Enjoy using Volume II! I promise you will love it!! 🥰
I worked for Hourglass and they are designed to use on different parts of the face. If you like to use them together that's great, but you can get very specific benefits when used separately. The first powder is a setting powder and can be worn over your entire face give it a soft focus, the second is to add warmth (bronze) where you like, and the third is a highlight. Makeup can be worn however you like, but I wanted to give the option incase someone has the palette and using them all together is too shimmery or dark.
Thank you so much Laura how lucky were you! I have pinned your comment, this will be so helpful for those watching this to show how versatile this palette truly is!
@@Amrasbeautyblog the powder's are really magical. I'm in my 50s and I love to use the ambient powder over my neck and decollete as a 'blurring' powder. The neck and chest skin really changes!!!
Hi dear just found your Chanel , thank you for your review and I understand your point of view, I have all their powder shades in my pro kit, they are unique . But the way they did the marketing for volume 2 that is the problem, yes dark skin can use it all the tree shades as finishing powders and have a beautiful Glow , powders are versatile , but one of the shades is a supposed bronzer that does not bronze , not even the model that they advertised with , that is misleading, that is not honest for the consumer . That makes their reputation as a brand really drop in my consideration and of a lot of people. So I hope they do their advertisements rigth . And if they not going to cater for me skin tone just be upfront with it , plus someone 3/4 shades deeper they me , all this powder pallet will do is make them ashy .
Hi I do understand your point of view and I hope that hourglass take your views into consideration seriously, the advert wasn’t the right way to advertise the product and it will be interesting to see why they decided to go with that campaign, my review is based on my personal experience with hourglass through the years and with my skintone, but I understand what you saying and thank you for sharing your point of view
I know this video is 2 years old but thank you for this. I just received my Ambient 2 and I absolutely love the bronze glow on my medium skin… I’m tempted to get the deeper one soon too! Btw, it looks great on you.
Ah thank you it’s perfect for my skintone, that’s ok my videos are there for you to view whenever you please :) it’s stunning ambient 2 and perfect for a medium skintone! I have the deeper one too and will review that soon :)
I'm a women of color and I really appreciate your insight on this product. These are FINISHING POWDERS , they are not ment to be very pigmented in the first place. This palettes are getting negative reviews from people that don't understand the product.
Omg you get it! It’s so frustrating, so wonderful to hear from another woman of colour, that understands! Yes it’s exactly that a finishing powder and it’s not designed to be highly pigmented 🧡
@@Amrasbeautyblog Exactly, I see all of these negative reviews, they think this is a countour palette and they are complaining that the powders don't show up on their skin, of course they won't show up. This is because that's Hourglass especiality as a brand ,making skin look skin just with the RIGHT amount of light and glow that looks natural.
Thank you and yes I agree there needs to be darker shade for all skintones, I hope HG bring out a volume III palette or more deeper shades across their range very soon!
Vol II looks terrific on you! This video had a ton of great info...exactly what I was looking for.. I found you because I was researching this product...and now you have a new subscriber! Thanks!
Really informative video, it was good to see a side by side comparison. Would definitely agree that ambient ii is much better for your skin tone. As a black women who is only now starting to get into make up, I’m probably not in the best position to make a comment, however, it has been quite interesting to see how this product has been marketed vs the reality of the shades. Thanks for giving your personal view and final thoughts at the end of the video as to whether this product would be suitable for darker skin tones. I’d agree that Hourglass as a company has a lot to learn regarding their marketing and advertising strategy, however from my point of view, your video has given me a good insight into the skin tone / complexion that this product will work well with!
Thanks so much for your comment, it was really honest and constructive, I totally agree the advert and marketing for this product has not been fair, it’s hopefully a huge learning curve for HG and I truly hope they take people’s comments on board. Inclusivity is so important. I reviewed this for those that had a similar tone to myself, and to demonstrate how the product worked for me. My channel was created as I didn’t see many people with my skintone doing reviews online but I can see why people are upset.
Love the way you’ve reviewed this palette! I’ve seen people who rave about this use it the way you did, but most reviews on here use them separately. Thank you!!
I would point out that Golden Bronze Light in the Volume II palette is not a finishing powder but a bronzer, according to the back of the packaging, whereas all of the powders in the Vol I palette are finishing powders. The reason that the side of your face with the OG powders look more "highlighted" may be because Incandescent Light is described as an opalescent finishing powder and gives off a subtle highlighting effect similar to Luminous Light.
Thank you for the review! You did an amazing job talking about. I'm unsure which one to get or what to expect! But I got the volume 2. I feel like the orginal one will leave a "chalky" look, because I have light to natural skin...
Your eyeshadow is beautiful, I can’t stop admiring it. I love Hg but they need to be inclusive . I can definitely see the difference. The new palette looks Gorgeous on you 😍😍😍
Thank you scattered light is always so pretty, yes I agree with your comments Inclusivity is vital and I hope HG hear everyone’s comments, yes I much prefer this new palette to the original and thank you 😊😘😘
I still have not tried an HG powder palette - not sure if I need it. Looks lovely on you. Love your eye shadow and lipstick in this video. Gorgeous! I can see the lighter and darker sides with the powders. I agree that the darker is better on you.
I have been MIA from social media. I’m brown skinned (NARS - Macao), I enjoy the Ambient in Dim (all over) and Radiant (as a highlight). I use a light hand and my face always looks more awake. It’s disappointing that the company cannot respond in a manner that makes sense.
The Radiant light color from Vol 1 is the same Radiant color in the Vol 2 pallet; there is a Vol 3 now with even darker shades I'm really interested in trying.
Every product is not for everyone. Nobody is saying the current products are bad. Adding a palette with deeper shades wouldn't take away from these two palettes that you enjoy. It would just allow people of a wider skintone range to enjoy this formula. Ultimately, when you use and promote these products, you're saying that as long as it works for you, you don't care who else is excluded. As a black woman I don't "expect " nonblack people to fight for me or stand up for me. Please just understand that it's never just makeup. These decisions are deliberate and intentional, and they are purposefully excluding dark skinned people. I for one, won't be supporting this brand and will spend my money where it's wanted.
I think the OG palette 😉 works well as a highlight for you, but as an all over powder and bronzer, the Ambient II is way better for your complexion. It definitely made your skin look healthier! Great review xxx
Totally agree with you 💯 so pleased I have this one now! It’s much warmer and gives a much more natural glow for my complexion, thanks for watching lovely xxx
