I love this palette this year. I want to pick this up. Last year I passed. I only have the ambient volume III palette and I have never used mine. It swatched so beautiful on your skin tone. Your makeup is looovely! Your demo though. No one has used this palette in this way. I hope you get some exposure from this video. This was very creative and unique demo Trini girl here!
@@jamiliawallace9103 One of the ways I like to use my volume III palette is to swipe across all three shades and then use that to bronze up my face. I was skeptical of that suggestion from Nikki La Rose but I tried it and it's beautiful!
There is a highlighter from Tiger which is a go to inner corner highlight for my eyes. I love it for that. I knew that bronzer wouldn't be deep enough for me but I guess I could use it as a finishing powder. That Desert blush? Not a snowball's chance in hell! 🤣 The red blush though, is right up my street! Love both strobe lights 😍.
I love that you used it as eyeshadow! You look stunning!! When I saw the palette with the lotus design, I was immediately drawn to it! This is my first Hourglass palette, even though most of my makeup since 2016 has been from Hourglass Cosmetics-none of their previous palettes ever spoke to me until now. I signed up for early access, and when I received the sneak peek and saw Red 0 included, I was so excited. This year, I decided to change my lipstick shade, having always stuck to their "I'll Never Stop" (Beige Nude) Confession Ultra Slim High Intensity Lipstick. Feeling daring, I tried Red 0 in the Confession Ultra Slim High Intensity Lipstick and instantly fell in love with its stunning red shade. For reference, my foundation is Laura Mercier's Real Flawless Weightless Perfecting Foundation in 4N2 Tea (medium with neutral undertones). My perfect shades are the Ambient Lighting Bronzer in Nude Bronze Light, Ambient Lighting Blush in Mood Exposure (soft plum), and Ambient Strobe Lighting Powder in Euphoric. I justified purchasing the palette mainly for the Red 0 blush, knowing that even if the bronzer, finishing powder, and highlighters in the Lotus palette were too deep, they could still work as eyeshadows. When my first Hourglass palette arrived, it confirmed my suspicions: aside from the two blushes, and the bronzer (which I use as a contour powder) the other shades were indeed too deep for my complexion. However, they make amazing eyeshadows! I really hope Hourglass makes Red 0 a permanent shade in their range and starts offering more neutral shades. It would be even better if they introduced the option to customise the shades within their palettes.
I loved the Desert Flush blush. I wore it today and love that they included a more neutral shade. I was getting tired of all the pink they have each year. I used a natural hair brush and had to be careful to tap off the excess because I found it to be pretty pigmented. I also found the rose highlighter to be a bit too dark for me but I'll probably use it as a shadow instead.
I’m going to try it with my Rephr brushes next….its the only shade that also didn’t really show up when I swatched it. Even though all their powders don’t swatch the best.
Glad to see your review of this palette! Try natural hair blush/bronzer brushes to pick up the powders. You'll get a better pick-up of the product, especially that shade that didn't show up on you. ❤.
The Morphe x Ariel brushes are technically natural haired but I’ll give it a try with my Rephr brushes…..I think the Sonia G ones I have are probably too big and fluffy for those pan sizes
@@jujubeeens it’s like the one Morphe product they got right 😂😂😂. I have like 3 sets of those brushes. Sonia G is definitely still better and higher quality though so I’ll try that next.
*sigh*. Another palette I wish the company would sell the palette separate from the colors so people may build their own… even if it’s just with highlight and blush. Maybe in 3 to 4 holiday releases, they’ll have a six pan palette that’s practical & usable for someone of my complexion and deeper (and by then the price point will be $120 🫠). Thanks for the work and comparisons.
I loved the palette that I bought in Jellyfish/Medium last year, and I do actually feel like it was worth the money, but I think I’m going to pass this year. I know at one point they had a 20% off coupon running around, so if they do that again this year, I might grab a brush, because like you mentioned, the pans aren’t that big in comparison to the brushes that I have in my collection
