It is honestly a blessing that I have a very similar skin type to Karima. No one else does such nice, in depth foundation reviews! (That being said, I love Hourglass to death but will probably be skipping this one. A sliiight bit too matte and too dry for my patchiness that likes to creep up.)
Hey Karima! Could you do a video with your foundation recommendation for specific events (wedding - flash photos/festivals - sweating/etc)? :) "Mummy is that you?" ahaha such a funny edit
I have oily combination skin and I do find this foundation starts to look shiny and wear off. Having said that the finish is stunning so I tend to save it for occasions when I know I'm only headed somewhere a few hours but want a polished look!
Could you do the Ride or Die tag?? I've just found your videos (binged watch sooo many of them) and would love to know what are your all time favorites!
I literally just reviewed this on my blog today! I have dry skin and was super pleasantly surprised by this as well. I found that it caught ever so slightly on dry patches, but if I prepped my skin well before I had no issues at all. I also really loved the wear time, which I didn't expect given how emollient it feels upon application!
Karima, your foundation first impressions are the most satisfying videos to watch. I really enjoy how meticulously you deal with every single detail when trying out a new product. Love from Italy
I just bought this foundation and I love it! My skin type is dry and it lasted really well all day, although I did notice it settling into fine lines around my mouth after a few hours but that's my only complaint. I also love how quick it is to apply! I'm glad you liked it too (:
Love your videos Karima! You are very specific and knowledgable on your products...I love forward to your videos every week (wish we could have Karima video several times a week! But alas, life gets busy)
Hi Karima, can you do a video on your studio? Take us on a tour? Tell us why you decided to have one and the process it took to get it up and running? I'm very interested. Thanks!
Would love to see a review of the new ABH Foundation Sticks. I know they're marketed towards oily skin but Norvina did recommend that it should work on dry skin with a oil serum/primer underneath. Would love to hear your opinion!
I have dry combination skin, I think I have similar skin type like yours, have tried quite a few foundations mostly high end, but I found them all ok not amazing. Until last week got a sample from Suqqu few days ago, it's their extra rich cream foundation, and OMG, I never knew there's a foundation in this world such amazing as this one! I doesn't cling to dry patches, not heavy( the name can be misleading lol), and makes the face look radiant and flawless all day I mean ALL day, the texture doesn't changed much at the end of the day. You have to try this!
Love this foundation because it is the closest skin match, doesn't oxidize, and is so easy to apply. However, I get REALLY oily with it (I have very oily skin). I think I'm going to put it away until the weather gets a little drier and see how it does
I got this stick and It sets so fast and shows all my dry patches . I’m glad I didn’t pay full price, but I’m trying to make it work bc it’s so pretty and lush
My skin is normal but sometimes can lean combination/dry. Never oily. I wanted to love this and tried it with several dif primers--so helpful to see that it wore the same on your unprimed side. It ended up sitting on top of the skin and showing lines where I had never noticed lines before on fresh skin or other foundations. Also exaggerated even the slightest dryness. I have never worked so hard to get a product to work before! Sadly, I realized it wasn't for me! Maybe I will try it again in the summer!
I heard so many people rave about it, I decided to try it out. 😔I did not like it. I have dry skin. When I applied it, it made my skin flaky and I had a lot of dry patches.
Wow your skin is perfection without the foundation!! After application it looked sooooo natural also like u didn't have anything on at all. I luv this foundation!!
I love your foundation reviews!! I always think of getting samples of whatever you love just to see if I'll love it too. Definitely gonna go to Mecca and get a sample of this!!
You're so funny!! I get dry patches and normally hate stick foundations too but I find that if I mix in cream or oil, it makes it super dewy and smooth!! Try it...I think you will love it!
Your comments are so helpful. I'm in the same boat as you. I'm about NC25 and with olive undertones. Possibly about NC20 right now for winter, so I'm having the most difficult time finding a match. I got linen, because I thought it was darker than bisque (and I don't think it is, linen is more yellow and bisque is yellow neutral), but it totally washes me out. I love the formula but nothing is really matching me dead on. Although Ivory kind of looks like me with a tan (NC27ish--for some reason when I tan I look more red undertoned as opposed to when I'm untanned and I look neutral-yellow). LOL. I honestly think the descriptions from hourglass are kind of off because Ivory is a little bit olivey-cool.
I know of a youtuber/beauty guru whose perfect match was the stick in Natural but she was like "it's not my match because it's gray and the other one adds color to my face!" and i was screaming to myself "BUT BABY THATS UR UNDERTONEEEE"
Ugh. This so did not work for me. I have dehydrated skin. It clung to dry patches AND weirdly also made me look oily and emphasized pores. But I know it looks UH-mazing on some peeps.
I'm around your skin color and the buff works for me. It adjusts to skin tone somewhat. But let us know what color you end up getting bc I think I could go a tad darker but not much
Did you stray from the gray-toned eyebrow filler?? You look lovely as always and this review was insightful! I almost bought this, but considering it clung to dry patches, I'll pass on it. Thank you :)
I wish you wore less foundation because you have skin that doesn't need it. At one layer you looked perfect. If I had your skin I wouldn't wear foundation I'd just wear tinted creams :) You're so lucky to have this skin ❤️
Thank you so much for this review - I'm super curious about this foundation now! I already have the brush, which is divine, and didn't think I needed the foundation, but I now think I was wrong... 😆 Let us know what shade you are when you get matched (I'm usually the same shade as you). X
Hi Karima! Thanks for the review. Love, love love your videos! I feel you would love the new MUFE Waterblend (previously Face and Body) foundation. Specially as you like the finish of Koh Gen doh. One thing though, make sure you work the foundation into the skin to activate the filmform; think Mac F&B. The more the formula is worked, the thicker it gets. In my opinion, it's one of the best foundations released of late; I prefer it to MUFE Ultra HD and Koh Gen Doh. You have to try it! Shade range is amazing too. (P.s: I'm not a sales rep for MUFE I swear !! Xxx )
Yes! This would be great. ✨😊 It seems olive toned foundations are rather rare, especially if you're pale, most light foundations lean pretty hard to the pink side. 😬
Great video Karima. I found pretty much the same as you with this foundation. I've got it in the shade Linen and I have dry skin. The only thing I found that I really didn't like is that it came off quite a lot anywhere I was touching my face. Other than that, I love it. I used a By Terry Soft Oval Expert Brush to apply and it went on beautifully :-) Definitely a keeper.
love your videos! I have very dehydrated slightly dry skin and I think this foundation would look too cakey and matte on my skin and would probably settle into any fine lines. Oh well...
Ah Karima! Great video as per, but could you possibly elaborate on dealing with dermatitis on your face? I'ver had it on my hand and legs for years but it's around my eyes and mouth too this year - I have no idea how to treat it and doctors have been little use. It would be great to hear your recommendations, as I usually get on well with products suggested by you. Thanks! xx
+Sophie Makes Up Mine is sporadic and mild so I treat it with hydrocortisone cream. Sounds like yours is classified as more chronic, have you had a full allergy scan? Determined if there is anything in your environment that could be causing contact dermatitis? A lot of washing detergents cause my skin to flare up. Xx
Good to know! Thanks for your input. We have two kittens, and I'm a bit allergic to cats so I think that they're the most likely culprit but as you say, washing irritants aren't the best. Thanks for your advise! xx
I was holding back buying this till your review...my wallet probably hates you but I love you LOL. Would you mind me asking what you're filming with? Your video quality is amazing :)
Karima!! Can you please try out the tarte shape tape concealer and the smashbox studio skin concealer? I think you might like those, the tarte one has nice coverage, good staying power, and doesn't crease/emphasize lines while the smashbox one looks very natural! I'd love to know your thoughts on those(:
I really wish you would have swatched the shades on your face down to your neck to compare our skin to yours against the shades would be really helpful
This looks really good - not much product, but would be great for travel, and for an older, drier skin? Good review! Do you think the brush is necessary, or would any buffing brush work?
I don't know if this is available in Australia yet, but have you thought about trying the new Anastasia foundation stick? I'd love to know what you think, you're so thorough in your foundation reviews!
Hi Karima! How would you compare it to the MUFE Ultra HD Stick Foundation? Which one do you think it's better? Love watching your videos, they're very informative and I really rely on your reviews! :) Hugs from Italy
Those come in more than 20 shades as I remembered. Some are actually used for highlights or contour, so I guess you could use all 3 shades you have at the moment.
There are so many foundations that pretty much only look good on people with amazing skin. Dx Gah. I lurrrve the finish of this foundation on you. Wish it would look as good on myself. I like the music you picked for the end card by the way. 🎶✌️
Have only just started watching, but I am just noticing your ring!? Have you just got engaged or have I just never noticed it? Congratulations anyway🎉😁💍
loving your foundation reviews!pls do a review of the hyped by terry loose powder, I really wanna know your opinions on it. Also the Surrat beauty foundation if possible XD
Hi Karima have you tried the Makeup Forever Ultra HD Stick Foundation? It is my favourite and I am normally not a stick foundation kind of girl ;-) Always love you videos, many thanks!
This foundation looks really good on you. Thank you for the review. I think I'll give it a try. Your videos also look great every time. If it's not too much to ask, I'd love to know how you set up your studio. :)
