Great stuff.I've always seen B-BOY battles, but never House dance battles. There's some amazing footwork here.I gotta get back into it again.NYC is dead in 2013 when it comes to dance fests.
These are some hot dance moves but in the early 90s clubs like the tunnel.red zone and sound factory in nyc had arguably the best dancers we used to tare it up..good video though and props to these dancers..

Didn't really hit the tunnel too often, saw pebbles there. The Shelter and the wild pitch on the other hand were the spots. Good thing about these spots is circles would open up and step in the ring if you dare... If we didn't wanna roll all the way to the city, we hit the zanzabar in Newark.
Hiro @ 3:13 - classic latenight dance battle style, and the female @ 14:56 - classic 3am deep hard vibing. the others were too weird. (LA UNDERGROUND / DOC MARTIN / RELEASE / DYNAGROOVE - for life - - props to all the LA Househeads from the late 90's - early 2000's)
Go to a club, pick a beat and just simply dance to it and enjoy it, that's what House, Dance, Trance is all about. Forget the bullshit battles. Ignoring the fact there's never any room in a club to dance like that anyway.

I love this whole scene. I'm from rockford I'll bout an hr. West of chi. House is a music played in clubs.. always diverse : ) I love this style of music, tried all combos and can't kind this steelo..still love my bad boy bill, dj funk, julian jumpin perez, but what's is this sound?? Great stuff!!!!
Can someone direct me the competitions?... I am looking for these house music dancers for video shoots.. this is WHAT ITS ABOUT.. ITs a floe and a FEELING! They do it righteous!
The problem with this "house dancing" [as this is called] is that you probably wouldn't be able to fly around like this in places like Paradise Garage, Better Days, Zanzibar, Loft, etc. All types of music was played and danced to...not everything had the underlying bass drum beat like the music in the video. Try this dancing to a "live" remix of "Lucky In Love" by Mick Jagger. A couple of dancers here reminded me of those days...just a couple - but carry on!!!
It wasn't my playlist...I just collected the tracks here on YT on put them together, but thanks anyways! And good looking out on that website too ! Peace Bro...
Track = Shasta by Pezzner Type in 'Pezzner - Shasta' for you tube ref. Track takes 1:43 before it gets to the part you recognise in the House Dance Video
Firstly, house was never meant to be for any sort of competition dancing. It was a way for people who share a common interest in this style of music to come together and enjoy and express themselves. There were no set routines only basic foundational footwork and you added your on flavor to it. Whether it was free style, modern, African, Martial Art etc... Being off beat or on beat didn't matter. Anyway, how can I get the tracks that they were running on this joint?! Damn!!!
Should let the audience judge ..didn't get alot of those calls - art is subjective, why only 3 people can vote - house has such a goofy musicality , everyone's point of view is valid.
