Agreed. It looks like a great place, but why the renovations right away? Especially after going over budget and that bathroom was really nice beforehand. He seemed to have more financial sense than she did, but he completely caved in about the budget and about the renovations. They are also not accounting for the four-year property tax increase that The City of Chicago initiated in 2016 as part of a planned four-year property tax increase. There actually was a 10% property tax increase in 2017 alone, ouch. (not to mention the cost of a Chicago wedding. That's another $50K easy). I wish I had that kinda money, congrats to them though.
He's cute. Aside from that, I don't understand why unmarried couples would ever invest in property together. That's A HUGE MISTAKE. I know people who dated for years, moved in and lived together for a few more years, then broke up. They fought about who bought what, who was taking this item, that item, etc. Thankfully, it didn't end up in court. Granted, getting married is a risk, but at least with marriage comes established laws about property distribution if divorce comes into the picture.
I was thinking the same thing. She looks like she is with him because there isn't anything better. I bet 5$ she had a brief relationship with someone else in these 3 months between them seeing each other for the first time and when they decided to be a couple. She dated someone else but he was probably a big prick so she thought "Oh, well, at least this guy is being nice to me". But she will jump in the arms of the next charming guy.
Yup I totally agree. They could've gotten something way better at their budget if they kept on looking in some other areas on the north side. While the rooftop deck was nice, that unit seemed narrow and small. And yikes that place in Bridgeport was ugly as hell.
I would have picked the second house, updated it, and built up the deck to add more privacy, maybe adding a sort of noise cancellation effect to lessen the train noise.
Why do so many couples on this show seem so pretentious? Getting upset that the bathroom didn't have two sinks? Then they keep cutting the places down and saying they all need charm or renovated. Their off their rockers. WTF! So then the place that they do buy they rip out a beautiful bathroom that most people would envy... these people are just yuck!
Diane Big yes I'm 5min in and had to check the comments to see if it was just me picking up on her condescending remarks to him, like I think she "settled" lol
I think the roof top deck made their choice. They compromised without a 3rd room for office space. They were way over budget, but I think they wanted to be near all the action. I like the way the guy expressed his thoughts. Excellent observations. I like the 3rd Condo/but no outdoor space.
Dee Bell Yes. And hell is the consequence to a sinners choice. The Bible ( Jesus ) says, marriage is honorable and the bed is undefiled ( not dirty for the married ), but the FORNICATOR AND ADULTERER God will judge. God is the potter and YOU are the clay. The clay cant tell the potter how to mold and make you
Jesus Christ have Mercy and compassion 🙏🏾🌹🙏🏾 the lady is pretty but not joyful at all . The man is full of Life and knows what he wants. He went over budget yet she is not content 😭😭😔 hope this man finds his real rib in marriage
I don't know - this couple seemed to have their priorities all in the wrong places - all on the superficialities - the surfaces. What about the long term investment value, structural issues, home owners association (or whatever it is in Chicago). Their head was more on what colour tiles they absolutely had to have rather than does the plumbing work in this building and who maintains it ... and that's before they got to the mortgage on this over budget property.
What is the big deal with the trains? Oh no, the trains!!! LOL... When they were outside, I didn't even hear them on the video so unless they edited out the noise, it's a stupid thing to whine about. I lived not far from an airport at one point. There were times the planes would go over and were so low and so loud if you were on the phone, you would have to wait until the plane passed so you could finish your conversation but even then it wasn't such a horrible thing that I was in a panic about it and needed to move. Some of these complaints are just silly.
I would've picked number 2. It was beautiful and while the counters weren't in granite or quartz, they were in a good state and clean looking. I mean, the place wasn't a dump that needed to be fixed right away! They say it's a project but I disagree. I would live in this place without doing any work and be perfectly happy. Then perhaps I would change the counters and renovate the bathroom 5 to 10 years later when I have more money aside.
she's a gold digger, gives no crap about the guy, like who says it took three months for me to even like him, it's like she was forcing herself to like him.....lmaooo
They chose the property that is EMPTY. This is all staged. The episode is shot after the new home is bought. The other two options are fake. Some are not even for sale.
I really like the penthouse. It's a really cool building. And the good news is that the couple that moved into it after these two broke up and he was almost driven to drink by his gf will enjoy a brand new bathroom for no freaking reason other than her not liking the tile color. So really it's a win-win for everyone.
No matter how ugly it is.. if that was the only choice then you'll be stock into it. Many buyers could only wish but if it is the only available house then that's it. Love it, embrace it! Live with it. 😃😃😃😃
Ewww Chicago sucks I used to live in Chicago and it’s dreadful because the people are uneducated and the weather sucks now, I live in South Florida and it’s 100% better because the people are nice they are very smart there are less neighborhoods and more gated community’s and the weather is 80 degrees everyday and when it’s cold it’s 70 degrees I love it!
tbh i liked her a lot more than him. I think she made sensible comments in terms of what they're looking for, and he always made snipy comments back at her
