Thank you for the video. Also thinking about moving to Jacksonville. Downtown seems pretty quiet. Is that the impression y’all got?

Thank you for watching! There was not a lot going on in downtown, but the second area that we went to at night (not sure of the name of that area, maybe Riverside) had plenty of action. We were not that impressed by the city, but the subbies where we looked for houses were nice:)

Not sure if you're still considering Jax, but I've lived here over a decade and can give you some details. The more lively area in the video was Riverside (more specifically, 5 Points). It's a trendy area with restaurants, bars, museums, etc. all within walking distance. There is another cool area in Riverside called King Street District that's also very artsy. Downtown Jax is pretty much dead unless there is a game at the stadium or a concert at the arena. "Downtown development" has been a buzzword with city government since we moved here and it's never truly happened. Jacksonville is the largest city by area in the contiguous US, which just means we are very, very spread out. You can probably see from the video, they are doing a lot of driving. That's because it takes a lot of time to drive from one side of the city to another. Jax is practically 5-6 cities all within one (each with thier own shopping, entertainment, and vibe), and most locals rarely leave their side of town unless they absolutely have to. I know this was a little long, but hopefully helpful.

Lol that’s because no one wants to be in downtown jacksonville lol. Lived here since starting college in 2009 and I avoid downtown as much as possible. I stay on the east and south side of jax.
