Suggested Strum Patterns: D DU U DU or D DU DU DU - it is fast
Notes:
Tyler Joseph plays a muted C chord for the first section (chorus). I have used the chords as a guide to help singing but you can play a C chord if you prefer.

If you can't keep up (like me) switch to all down strokes, occasionally throwing in an up stroke when it feels right.

If it's too fast, put the video speed on 0.75x and switch the strumming pattern to D DU UDU

This was actually one of the first songs I got to play with a Ukulele. After 6th grade, I stopped playing the Uke. Gonna start again soon. (I’m 13) so I haven’t played for 2-3 years

Make sure when strumming its not your arm strumming, just your wrist. If you strum correctly, it shouldn't hurt

Put some masking tape around your strumming finger, it will sound the same but you won't feel any pain while strumming

It's better to strum with your index finger with the nail B) thumb is used for a softer sound but not in this song. Sorry I don't want to seem mean

I really don't what to to say besides practice! :) You can try slowing down. I the hang of it after some practice :) I practiced chord changes by constantly repeating them at any time I had.

@@nightmare6911 If you watch Tyler playing it, you can see he plays the first chord a muted C. You play a normal C chord but your first finger rests on (and mutes) all the strings and this is why. Sorry if it confused you on the video, I have done a tutorial on this where I explain the muted chord better.

Sorry! I feel like the right thing is to use your index finger. It won't hurt as much. The thumb is a different technique used to make a soft sound :) but not in this piece 😅
