I'm from Poland and I can tell that Italian accent and estern european may sound familiar. Raw polish accent would be very similar to this from the clip. So I can understand somebody would say that. There is similar ''r'' pronounciation in Italian, Russian and Polish.

Yes, the common “r” is why all the Russians I know who live here in Italy have a MUCH better Italian accent than I could ever achieve. There is something in the same family of “r” pronunciation. And like others have said, not every Italian accent is like the typical “mamma Mia pappardelle!” type. Some have a falling tone at the end and Patrizia seems to have that rhythm of speech and thus, accent.

I lived in Milan for 5 years and watching this movie , I was very surprised on how italian it is :D I think that Gaga made very good job and she was talking exactly like Patrizia

The irony of Patrizia saying to Paola she can't wrap her head around people who steal just for ego and personal satisfaction when thats exactly what she did. She felt entitled to the wealthy and luxurious life the Gucci name can provide and yet she threatens her husbands mistress and accuses her of the same thing. Hypocrisy at its finest

I saw a scene on TikTok and was thinking that woman is great acting. Then when I watched the trailer and when they said lady Gaga as one the main characters I was shocked. It so doesn't look like her. She looks amazing

@@TheArtromeda to be fair, remember that Joker got a standing ovation at the Venice Film Festival which was a strong chance for Phoenix to get an Oscar nomination based on the festival's reaction. Films that premiered at the biggest film festivals are the ones that's really strong enough for an Oscar nominations. BoRhap with the help of a successful box office was another successful chance for Malek to win Best Actor. Oscars are mostly based on critics reviews anyways, if it's audience then that goes to MTV if you want Gaga to win that award 😂😂. Audience don't votes the Oscar wins anyways. So yeah Gaga might be nominated but her chance winning is slightly 50/50. She's facing lots of competiton anyways, at this point it's about the competition. Will Gaga be nominated? Sure, biopics is Academy's favorite genre after all, will Gaga win Best Actress? Judging by her rivalries so far, it's a tough competition for her
