Back in the day when this game was originally in arcades, there was a liquor store right across the street from my high school where my friends and I would play this very game. I made it as far as you did in this video, Erin. Great memories!
SEGA Fan Love it! I surprisingly have only played it once before at the arcade w/ my sister back when the game first came out. Def need a zapper and old school tv though.
A sinister synopsis of sega's symmetrically scary entry on the Dreamcast! And now Halloween season has officially begun! Excellent video, you put alot of work into it and it shows. This is the channel to watch folks, always quality.
This game was my childhood! Played it soooo many times in the arcade, I don't want to think about how many pounds I spent on it lol. It wasn't until I got it for the Wii that I finally beat the game. Hell I'd be lucky if I'd get to stage 1's boss in the arcade (bearing in mind I was like 5 or 6 haha) Just found your channel and love it, keep up the great work!
Yes ! I love The House of the Dead! Used to play this all the time on my Dreamcast ! I can wait to see how far Erin makes it in this game ! Happy Halloween 🎃 Erin and Everybody !
One of my fave games ever! My Dad and I would play it on the family computer back in the day, we could never beat Magician until one day I finally got past him and I remember shouting 'DAD! I BEAT MAGICIAN! I WON!' and he came RUNNING into the room to see, he was as excited as I was.
The robotic human dialog reminds me of the first Resident Evil. "Blood! I hope this is not... Chris's blood." Good old days. Still can't beat that eerily clear voice in Bible Buffet.
It's not the Halloween Season until Erin Plays starts her Halloween videos! Also you can shoot the barrels and boxes in the background for items. I have House of the Dead 2 and 3 on Wii. I've beaten 3, but I died at The Magician boss too.
I loved this game on the dreamcast! I used play with a gun in each hand. I played a shameful amount of hours on this game... It got to the point where I could beat this game with 1.50 at the arcade.... Kids these days will never know.. 😢
One of the three games I bought with my Dreamcast on 9-9-1999 launch day. Along with Power Stone and Soul Calibur. Only time I've bought a console at launch. 😁
4 years ago when I was in the Phillippines I actually got the chance to play the arcade cabinet of House of the Dead 2 =) Also, loved Erin's voice for the flying demon at the begining XD
Yeah there are some story elements and some cut scenes, but you don’t really need to know about that. Love it! This is an arcade cabinet I always wish I would’ve had
Takes me back to the mall days. The sweet smell of Auntie Anne’s pretzels and that crazy Israeli lady standing outside of her kiosk trying to put lotion on everyone’s hands that walked by. We also can’t forget “Fortune for a quarter? I love quarters!”
I love this game! And I actually went thru 2 Starfire Lightblasters and im on my 3rd and 4th of those and I also have a Mad Catz light gun too, but I thought the Interact Starfire lightguns were much more accurate! and I love when Harry gets badly(not critically)injured as Game Sack points out, so hilariously emotionless!! Keep up the awesomeness!!
I remember playing House of the dead arcade at the flea market and I got to the part where you have to shoot the tissue organs which is his weak spot during the boss fight if you remember who he is. He also appears in House of the Dead 2. Also I have House of the Dead 2 & 3 the Return on the Wii and I used the Wii Zapper. Great game 😀
I remember when playing 'Light gun games' , when reloading; the trick was to keep the gun aimed at the screen, then cover the lens and squeeze the trigger. pointing the gun away from the screen to reload was the down fall of many players.
Always been a Typing of the Dead afficianado. So, I can appreciate the overall aesthetic glory of this game. Hell of a play and I enjoyed every second.
With today’s 4k TVs not having the ability to properly work with the old light guns, I wish and hope Arcade1up would make some light gun cabinets. Some personal cabinets I would buy day one would be a Point Blank machine that includes 2 Guncons with all 3 Point Blank games, a Time Crisis machine with Guncons and of course all of the Time Crisis titles, and my third cabinet would be of course, a House of the Dead with all 4 titles. I’m not sure how to go about requesting these titles to Arcade1up though since I can’t find it anywhere on their website. Being a 40s gamer I miss these light gun games
@@XboxNightmare_NM they could always re-program the games to work with standard controllers. It would be cool if Arcade1Up re-released them as mini arcades. I wouldn't be surprised if they do re-released these as a mini arcade one day since they are re-releasing Big Buck Hunter as one.
There is actually a trick when reloading with the gun. Hold the gun with 2 hands and use 1 finger to cover up the gun barrel and then fire which will make it easier to reload and maintain your aim. This is easier than just aiming off screen to reload. Works like a charm.
Love this vid! I don't think my game has green blood 🤔. I love that little gargoyle dude! He isn't very menacing and could have been a character in other games.
I like how I can’t play normal window mode for games I literally have to put it in full screen mode or the stretch option but for some reason I like to watch someone play video games on an iPhone on RU-vid and their game isn’t full screen something about it .... soothing lol Also the boat part where you saved that Guy Golden 😂
i played this game to DEATH in the arcade, with both guns, at some point i was able to reach the emperor with 2 quarters, one for each gun, but only once i managed to beat it like that, usually my left hand died first, with one gun i could beat it with 1 quarter most of the time... later i got a dreamcast just to play this game, but never got the guns for it, columbine shooting happened around this time and many retailers took them off the shelves. playing with the controller takes away all the fun but still dumped a lot of hours in the dc version
Now I'm curious to see if Erin will try out HotD Overkill, or the Typing of the Dead version of it. That game is absolutely hilarious with the whole super cheap grindhouse movie theme. Just the banter between G and Isaac is worth playing it .
@@ErinPlays highly recommended , you can get it on Steam. It gave me a little trouble setting up on my laptop at first. But other than that, it played perfectly fine once I fixed the issue. Plus it's actually a surprisingly good game to learn typing, the difficulty ramps up well. Just the last boss is a bit weird.
Hey Erin, I remember House of the Dead, it's was a best game ever and I've played it when I was younger. For this game House of the Dead 2, never seen and played it before but I hope it's a good game as well When I got this game, I should tested it out for myself someday. Great game content miss! 😉
