I was going in hesitant about this show after the way GoT ended but I am loving it. Matt Smith is knocking it out of the park as Daemon. The highlight of this episode was when Rhaenyra showed up on the bridge with her dragon. Great episode.

Daemon is an amazing character

I feel like each episode is better than the last and the tension keeps ramping up! Can’t wait till episode 5 !

One of my favorite things about Game of Thrones were the conversations - Arya and Lord Tywin, Maester Aemon and Jon Snow, Tyrion and Varys, Lady Olenna and anyone. Eve Best as Princess Rhaenys Targaryen is superb. Any line she speaks hits with immense force. This is why I sincerely hope that her role is expanded as the series continues. She, for me, is the most interesting character in the show thus far.

Daemon with long hair reminds me of Sephiroth in Final Fantasy VII. From all the trailers when he's older, his hair is only about shoulder length. No more long hair that he can bang to Slayer..

Youre right the beginning is old Valyria like the Kings model in his room.

Daemon is my fave character in this series by far (even at current episode)!

Laena is the daughter of Rhaenys - the queen who never was-, and Viserys and Rhaenys are cousins; marrying your first cousin is not considered incest in Westeros (and example, Tywin and Joanna Lannister), so it wouldn't be weird for them to propose marrying the daughter of your cousin, despite the age difference (which is disgusting). The thing is that Alicent has already caught the king's attention, and she is older than Rhaenyra.

Leanora Valaryon was the better match despite her young age, though I agree the squick factor is high. Still, it would have been a great chance to silence the grumbling. Also, I don't think Daemon is being a dick just to be a dick, but because he wants his bother's attention and love, and to be restored as heir. I do think he believes he would be a better king than Viserys, and I think he would, too. Also, Leanora Valaryon was just the sweetest little girl to me, and I wanted to hug her when the king asked her if that was what her father told her to say, because it seemed to me she felt like she'd done it wrong. Poor sweety!

3:36 Rhaenyra is now the heir to the Iron Throne and no one on the council respects her and just look at the scene, Otto cut Rhaenyra off when she was speaking and Viserys didn't do anything in that situation. If it was Daemon he's already shutting everyone up, mainly from Otto, in the scene with Rhaenys it's Rhaenyra, everything Rhaenys said to Rhaenyra is true, Rhaenyra is heir to the iron throne and yet she continues to give them wine, but the truth is she is participating in the council, but as Rhaenys Said they won't want a woman Viserys shouldn't have married Alicent he made a wrong choice and now there will be consequences for his choice, Viserys should have married Laena in the book she is At least Rhaenyra's age unlike in the series they put a child I don't know why they did that Probably to be more controversial because he's a child, but anyway he should have chosen Laena and not Alicent and you'll realize that his choice was a mistake when you watch the rest of the episodes
