The dog was also a rat catcher... They took him to cover up their actions and to show them where "the rats" were.

jaeherys and jaehera are meant to be identical twins so him having to get up close to tell them apart isn’t a huge deal , plus he couldn’t even see the front of her face and he could still tell it was the girl

It is soo much worse in the book. There Cheese makes Heleana choose between her two sons, she picks the younger son, Cheese says:" look, your mommy wants you dead" to the younger son and of course they then kill the older son...

How you are relieved that haelena is ok and her son is killed, like girl that happen infront of her eyes she is never gonna to the same again, she is traumtised for life and in continuous agony until she dead like how is that better!

The dog is part of the rat catching job. You see both twice earlier in the episode, once before Alicent and Cole get into the Council meeting then they both walk across the back hall as Aegon hears about the blockade. The rat catcher and his dog are a trusted sight no one questions, that's why he takes the dog with him.

Aegon actually placed 2 dragon eggs under Jaehaerys and Jaehaera cradles 💔 Jaehaerys was only 4 when he was murdered Daemon did order his death, he disobeyed rhaenyra. when cheese asked "what if we can't find him" Daemon smirked, that's when he said "a son for a son", jaehaerys as aegon's heir was the plan B.

Why can't people just watch a show or read a book without choosing sides? I feel that when fans choose sides, then they won't be able to fully enjoy or understand the story. It feels the same way with season 4 of Attack on Titan. Does anyone else feel this way?

Emma D'Arcy gave a powerful performance this episode. Rhaenyra only says 4 words and she stole the episode. The scene with Rhaenyra and Jace was heartbreaking. I'm still on Rhaenyra's side in this battle. Enjoyed your reaction.

Literally episode starts by showing us the Raven flying through the noth bearing the message of Luke's death - talk about starting S2 with the exact plot continuance from the epic ending of S1... I expect great things from S2 - Team Black!!

Small dogs have been trained to catch rats. There's actually a breed called Rat Terrier for that reason.

I felt the same way seeing Winterfell and the Starks

something interesting at the start of the episode loads of people seem to just nod along when Daemon is talking about extinguishing Aegon's line; and then they see what that would actually mean by the end of the episode...and are not fans of it

Small and medium-small dogs have been used for rat control for centuries. Most of your terriers and such were specifically bred as ratting dogs. The rat catcher would have his ratting dog with him if he were on the job.

12:15 I've seen a few people comment that this looked fake or was bad cgi, but I thought the opposite, it looks completely real life to me. With the ease of someone who has done that jump hundreds of times.

[apologies, but I do not recall the dragon's name] [additionally, I'm not sure I've seen you tear up and cry so readily Larissa. That hit me hard] 13:18-13:20 basically every reaction I have seen so far has jumped to the taken by... Before I start crying with you, we know more about the Lore from the hidden words of Cregan and Jacaherys, the King of the North was not going to kneel but Aegon was not interested in burning northerners and he told him the prophecy, that's why he kneeled

idk why but luke’s death (EVEN THO I KNEW IT WAS COMING) hit me harder than maybe any other tv death- i’ve seen the first season many times but i still only have to take a moment to think abt luke’s death to start bawling again. cried probably 3/5 of this episode lmaooo it was very cathartic.

Syrax wasn't trying to comfort her, i think she was wailing too...Arrax the young dragon was her Son.

if you're a big fan of the Stark's, esp Ned Stark, here's a cute little easter egg for you. look up the video "Sharp likes to swear". when you've gone further with The last kingdom you'll appreciate this more. Sharp Series was a tv adaptation of Bernard Corwell's book series (the guy who wrote Saxon Chronicles with TLK is based off).

Very good episode but Blood and Cheese did not exist, if you take away the last brutal scenes of Cat from the castamere rains, there would not have been the Red Wedding

Aegon had no choice to accept throne he did it to protect his kids and sibling and also because subject give him love e never had from his parents but still he was forced on it so he does the best he can even tho he was not trained to do so

I'm team Green mainly bc Daemon is a part of Team Black and he has to literally be the most evil man in all the seven kingdoms. Man has done so much wrong you lose count. It kinda bugs me that the actress playing Alycent is barely older than the trhee actors playing her children.

The final Blood and Cheese scene did NOT hit. Especially when you compare the events to the more psychologically horrific version in the book. I'm glad you got something out of it, but honestly, I think the producers really botched that ending...

Well, they ruined Blood&Cheese all right, could have been one of TV history's most haunting moments, another Red Wedding, but instead the show's version was a complete let down, rushed and underwhelming to say the least. If only they adapted the book's version which was perfection!!!! In the book Daemon gave the order to murder Aegon's heir not Aemond, a son for a son he said. It wasn't a mission gone wrong, typical Daemon didn't give a rat's ass about the babies, in the book Viserys adored his grandchildren and used to tell them stories of ancient Valyria. Blood and Cheese sneaked into Alicent's room through the secret passageways Rhaenyra used to get out of the Red Keep in the first season, they gagged Alicent and waited. When Helaena arrived with her three babies, Blood killed her guard before proceeding to grab her eldest son, Prince Jaehaerys, while Cheese took hold of her younger son, Prince Maelor. Then she was asked on which of her sons she wanted them to kill, the queen pleaded with them to kill her instead, which was turned down and Blood reminded her that it has to be a son, warned Helaena that she and her children would die if she screamed. They threatened they would rape her baby daughter if she didn't make a choice soon. When she was once again forced to make the impossible choice under the threat that all of her children will be killed, the queen tearfully chose Maelor, the youngest son, she believed that Maelor was too young to understand. Seeing that she had chosen Maelor, Cheese whispered into the boy's ear, mockingly saying, "You hear that, little boy? Your momma wants you dead." Instead they decapitaded Jaehearys to Helaena's horror, and she began to scream. This is by far the superior Blood&Cheese version. In the show the guards had vanished, made no sense, kicking the dog was more impactful and Alicent humping Cole at the end took away from Haelena's tragedy, people were laughing. Idk, and it's not like the book readers anticipated to witness the beheading of a baby, it's just that GRRMs version of a mother's impossible choice would have made for great drama, a lost opportunity indeed I might add.
