The whole Daemon story arc is his redemption arc. His comforting of his brother to come to terms with his screwing up. When it’s done he’ll be a changed man in his loyalty.

Everyone in the castle can see Alys, but they never look her in the eye or talk to her because they are all afraid of her. She pretty much owns Harrenhal Castle.

Book Rhaenyra was almost definitely bisexual - while she had no relationship with Alicent (as book Alicent is significantly older than her and their relationship is very much stepmother-stepdaughter), she was heavily implied to have a three-way relationship with Laena and Daemon, and more speculatively, with Mysaria and Daemon.

Alys Rivers has become one of my favorite characters, she's so oddly arrogant and mysterious. The very first time I saw her, she just walks in, glaring at everybody while they are all bending the knee to Daemon. She treats Daemon Targaryen like he's a wayward child and walks around like she owns Harrenhal Castle. No one ever confronts her about anything, plus she can control owls. Is Alys Rivers even her real name, who or what is she, in reality?

Hate to say it, but if people were that hungry in the city, there would not be any stray dogs or any other stray anything.

People rightfully criticize Alicent for her parenting but she was a child raising children in a marriage she was coerced into by her father.

The kiss has nothing to do with being homophobic the problem is she's married not to mention they're making out after talking about being molested by her dad

Daeron is really nice. Him and Helaena are like two only people who you can sympthasize with in the book.

You're going to see how your favorite team becomes more hated than the Greens. You're going to see how Queen Rhaenyra turns into a mad queen.

slow/set up episodes aren’t the same thing as a filler episode. granted i’m critical of how long daemon has been in harrenhal too, but people have been too critical in the name of impatience. these conversations may not have a lot of action in them, but they’re invaluable for this kind of show.

I am surprised you didn't see that kiss coming at the end of the episode. I have been waiting for that for a while now simply because it was clear that Rhyaenyra was bi from the moment she was younger because of like you said in season 1 how she treated Alicent and how many times she said she just wants to ride away on her dragon with Alicent by her side. Also they both remind me of Dany and Missandi in Game of thrones and I always thought there was more than friendship between them too. Now I think that kiss might have been more for comfort but I do beleive she is attracted as well so it's a bit of both. I am not surprised the younger brother became his rider because he is of the sea like Seasmoke's last rider was and he also kinda looks like him with the long hair and such. I agree though that one that keeps saying he has the blood of the dragon in him will eventually play apart in becoming a rider for Rhaenyra as specially now that she has given the people much needed food.

I think a lot of the kinda of mundane repetitiveness of some of the story is intentional to a degree. A large part of the season is characters waiting for their armies to arrive and not actually able to do much. A lot of character conflicts (eg Broome and Rhaenyra) go unresolved for a long period of time because nothing realistically would change each others mind. And then you slowly see how the characters reactions change through these Council scenes. Rhaenyra used to have some patience for her Council. Now she's smacking them around. You can kinda tell now that Alicent is now very disillusioned with her Council. She used to have some power. Now she has none. The Daemon storyline has a repetitive format (Daemon meets someone from his past and each dream tells him something about himself). But I don't necessarily think they all say the same thing. The first one showed how he had hurt Rhaenyra. The second dream showed how he resented Rhaenyra for taking the throne he thought was his. The dream with his mom seemed to be about his ego. And the dreams with Viserys seemed to show how he misunderstood Viesrys' intentions and feelings towards him. Even Laena's presence in that one episode has a purpose reminding him of his duties as a father. I think the point of the dreams is to make Daemon reflect on his relationship with his family and the consequences of his actions.

Daemon had wanted Rhaenys with Meleys to go forth with him, because together they would be a match for Vhagar and could be victorious. Meleys and Caraxes are among the most capable fighting dragons with riders after Vhagar, and both Rhaenys and Daemon are more experienced than Aemond. We saw how much Meleys dominated Sunfyre, and how little chance even fighting side by side Sunfyre and Meleys would have faired against Vhagar. 8:35-8:40 On the matter of "Is Alys Rivers real?" You will have an answer to this, in this very episode. 11:00-11:12 I never caught if it was "three days" or "a few days" but in either case, it sounds like foresight, prophecy, or conspiratorial knowledge. 22:00-22:05 I believe that is the iron worker, (Hugh?) who has a wife and a sick daughter, who was counting on the king advancing the money for the construction of the weapons, not the Targaryen bastard. If I am correct, I can understand why he would take the food from someone else, rather than hope there is something left by the time he gets to the boats. [I will call them boats, a boat can fit in a ship, a ship cannot fit in a boat] As if I am correct, he has a sick daughter and a wife to take care of. 22:53-22:55 As much as we are given reason to dislike Alicent, I have to give her credit for trying to protect Helaena, without regard for her own safety (of course she is Helaena's mother) and I would point to the sharp protrusions/spikes we see on the wall/gate behind Helaena. You may have remarked on this in the full reaction, but 23:22-23:23 Alicent is looking at what appears to be a wound on her arm, which I think is from the aforementioned spikes/sharp protrusions. 24:03-24:10 When an accusation of a member of the household casting malign spells, you went to Alys. Although it is possible for a someone to appear younger than they are, I always have felt Alys wouldn't have been alive when Larys was born, and at this point aren't you still questioning if Alys is real? 24:52-25:34 I, personally, perceived a significant change between this vision for Daemon, and all the others he's had. This vision, he's showing kindness and support, and although late, is being supportive of his brother after the death of his queen. Couple this with the news that is arriving at the time, and the previously mentioned "answer of sorts" about Alys... (It's a confirmation such a person exists, but it doesn't confirm it's the one he's seen. I don't care if the dragon is on a killing spree or not. We know what dragons can do to people. Unless you know it's friendly toward you, probably best to make yourself "not here" when a dragon comes flying in. 26:06-26:09 _THIS_ is how more shows should have someone "randomly fall down in the woods" when being pursued. So many chase sequences (primarily in horror and thriller movies) have a person (usually a woman) tripping for no good reason. Looking back to see the pursuit makes sense, but the "oh I twisted my ankle on _nothing_ " is so overused. At least in this case it was a "look where you're running... Oops you looked back at the wrong time and ran into something you would've easily hopped over if you were not distracted" At least here there's actually something to justify the fall. One thing that Addam (little brother of Alyn) potentially being the rider of Seasmoke proves, is that it doesn't have to be the first generation child of a Targaryen to ride a dragon. While the Targaryen and Velaryon lines have intermingled in the past, Coryls is the only connection between Laenor and Addam. Corlys is Velaryon, his children with Rhaenys would be first born children of a Targaryen, his bastard children are not Rhaenys's, so in theory any Targaryen blood they would have, would come from him. [I will not do a deep dive into any inter-marriages in his history, as I do not want to accidentally spoil anything for myself, assuming the information is out there.] I thought, if they were going to have success with the first attempt with a more distant descendent of a Targaryen, it would be most likely with Seasmoke, since this dragon, until relatively recently in dragon terms, had a rider. Better to try with one who has had a rider before, rather than one that is considered "wild"

Daemon tripping has gone one for too long

Hi Larissa, hope all is well. I wonder if Aemond will do something to finish off Aegon in order to silence him from revealing the truth about his near death. I really like Mysaria's council with Rhaenys, the kiss was no surprise, I somehow expected it to happen. Daemons visions are being dragged out., well it looks like Sea smoke has chosen a rider Rhaenyra going to get a first hand look was a nice way to end it. Take care ✌

Do not call people homophobic if someone may not like that sort of thing. It's an old trope. I personally don't like it but that doesn't mean I hate gay people. It's getting really really annoying. That being said, it is not an attack against you and I also really like your videos. I watched a lot of reactions of yours with game of thrones too. But I have to speak my mind on this.

No one was trying to "feed the whole city". They were small gifts under the black flag to remind the townspeople of the peaceful times of Viserys and his "true heiress". Propaganda moment. Rhaenyra wasn't going to end the siege, it was a political move. Please stop pretending that any of the nobles are thinking of the people in this show.

in any case I really don't want to see caraxes and vhagar kill each other it would be like seeing Obi-Wan and Anakin fight again it was terrible and sad

So one of the three riderless dragons is now taken, it remains to be seen if anyone will take Vermithor and Silverwing... 😉 And FINALLY the series mentioned the wild dragons! There are three of them, and the one that is stealing sheeps in the Vale is most likely the one called... Sheepstealer. Don't know why I have this hunch. 😄 And RIP Ser Steffon Darklyn, your Targaryen heritage was too diluted to earn the respect of the dragons.

Just because people dislike something doesn't make them "haters" and "homophobes" ("phobe" actually means "fear"). People are allowed an opinion. I'm afraid of spiders and don't like them but I don't hate them. The woke has sneaked in (writer of this episode is a female activist). The males are either toxic, weak, or both (except for the non-white characters). And it’s embarrassingly obvious why Corly’s sons have been shoehorned in (probably to flip the White Saviour card). Of course, we had to have the gay to check off another DEI box (that is why Mysaria was resurrected). I liked this episode and I like the season but the Daemon storyline has dragged on and on and on.

It's not a surprise honestly that rhaenyra kissed with her, there's no friendship when a woman is involved only men have the ability to be friends. With women it's either sexual or it's nothing so the writers went the realistic way which like i said says that women are unable to be just friends.

It's not homophobia but, everyone expects a reunion of rhaenyra with daemon and they play this. Nobody has a problem with laenor being gay. So I think this was so unnecessary.
