I think it was the assassin and decided his brother's death proved he was wrong and asked Rhaenyra for forgiveness and fell on his sword to keep his oath.
@@lemonicetea2642 It's not, Arryk (Greens) died first. Erryk killed his twin and then fell on his blade after successfully defending his queen. Even in the book, Arryk dies first, too.
@@skills4u2envywrong, this is why y’all need to just watch the show and stop looking to the books for every answer Erryk had the slice to his leg that’s how you could tell them apart Arryk used that to get the upper hand, Erryk get the cut when he’s standing in front of Rhaenyra. It was Arryk who killed him self this isn’t the book.
Daemon most certainly was not right. The reason why daemon wasn't named heir was only because of his own actions. Viserys never was afraid of daemon for any selfish reason, it was because he understood that daemon was a liability, which is what Rhaenyra is understanding right now. Daemon on the other hand craved his brother's acknowledgement and attention, so much so that he has convinced himself of these lies to cope now that he's dead.
He was right in some of the arguments he made. Viserys most certainly did not plan to have Rhaenyra as his heir. So much so he constantly tried to have Aemma have a son, to the point she died in childbirth. After that, he did not trained Rhaenyra as heir or kept her close AND he married another woman. Either he was stupid and coward to go against the will of his council or he did not care for Rhaenyra.
Daemon was right, he easily could’ve killed his brother and taken the thrown for himself if he wished. He loved his brother despite every conflict the two had. Daemon was supposed to take the thrown but when he found out about him messing with his daughter he completely went against what his council and tradition says to do.
He was most definitely right 💀 Daemon could’ve honestly killed his brother if he honest to god wanted the throne but he didn’t, and he was right lowkey about everything dude saw what was coming before it even played out fully. he just wanted his house to stay strong but Viserys was a weak king and constantly tried to have a son and ended up marrying ottos daughter even after warning from not only daemon but also his small council he ignored it all.
Rhaenyra holds her son when he cries but Alicent leaves her son and goes to Crispen... Daemon came to Rhaenyra when she arrived with Lukes body but Aegon did not talk to Heleana at the stairs... Alicent is not a good mother, maybe to her daughter. Even Aemond goes to the Madame and shares his emotions with her because his mother is not emotional available! Greetings from Germany❤
Despite all her struggles, Rhaenyra has experienced true and mutual love with the fathers of her children, Harwin and Daemon and also shared a loving relationship with her parents meanwhile Alicent bore her children clenching her fists and praying to lord while she slept with Varys. She's never been loved since childhood, only used as a pawn by her father therefore She's no motherly skills.
theres so much resentment betweens the greens, its what makes their dynamics so interesting to me. They're all grieving and in so much pain but no one knows how to comfort the other
@@mariaclararodrigues1202same I find it super interesting they are all literally feeling the same thing but NOBIDY knows what to do or say with each other to give one another comfort.
@@RaggedyPack They stole her right, obviously she is the victim! The war was started by the Greens, killing those who did not kneel before Aegon when he usurped the throne.
poor Rhaenyra: she feels the pain of her sister Helaena, Daemon does not fulfill his role with her and loses one of his most loyal guards without being able to do anything; my Queen deserves much more better
The Duel of the Cargyll Twins is immortalized in Westerosi legend as the ultimate display of honor and duty. In the book _A Game of Thrones,_ Bran recalls the story when thinking about famous Kingsguard members and, in _A Clash of Kings,_ Sansa uses the legend to demonstrate that a man crying does not make him weak. Olenna Tyrell also has two twin guards named Erryk and Arryk after the famous kingsguard members. And yes, that means that Arryk and Erryk Cargyll have been a part of the lore of the ASoIaF/GoT universe since the very beginning.
I think the dragon flying over Addam was Seasmoke, Laenor's dragon that now is not ridden and cant be claimed since Laenor is still alive. I dont know how much the commoners would really care about the ratcatchers outside of immediate family. Seems like the story would be "a castle ratcatcher assassinated the Prince and the king hanged all the castle ratcatchers. Definitely went overboard, but one of them did kill his son." Not good PR for sure, but I dont think it is going to turn the people against him more than they turned against Rhaenyra for thinking she killed the prince.
@@rexibhazoboa7097 Alicent had her kids out of duty and not love. I think she resents her kids a little but you can def tell she resents Aegon the most. Also Alicent father doesn’t show her any comfort so she carry’s that emotional distance she has with her father to her kids.
Even if criston Cole wasn't on duty at Helaena's doorstep, he is lord commander of the king's guard, so he is responsible for the safety of the red Keep as a whole.
Him assigning Halaena a sworn protector would've been enough to prevent it all. And if it still went down, then he could fairly put the blame on the sworn protector.
@@rexibhazoboa7097 And it's not just about Halaena's room. The murdered could enter the Keep and walk around unchallenged. When you think of it, Daemon could easily have entered with 15 men or so and kill all the greens.
Fun Fact: The “Cooler” Cole in the books actually beat Harwin Strong in some tourney, breaking his collarbone and elbow. From then on he was no longer known as Breakbones but rather Broken Bones.
Such a great episode of #HouseOfTheDragon tonight. Very sad how much the family civil war is slowly destroying everyone around them. Sir Eryk is a real one‼️🫡 loving the consequences in this season 👏 the acting is superb. Quality TV by HBO. Bravo 🩸👑⚔️🐉🔥
So far HOTD is amazing. It exceeded my expectations. I cant describe but the vibe is so GOT like and yet so different . But I have the feeling that even more in HOTD every scene has meaning and its not filler. Not even the sex scenes really
@@the_glitter_is Absolutely! Just think it’s funny that yet again she’s not a good mom. She cares for her kids sure, just doesn’t always treat them well
@@rexibhazoboa7097 So? There’s something called breaking generational trauma. It’s tough, and takes time but it’s no excuse to not even try. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to do for your kids what your parents didn’t do for you. It wouldn’t be that hard for Alicent to just sit down and be there for Aegon even silently. Otto being shitty to her doesn’t excuse her not being there for her kids.
Cheese ABSOLUTELY was the guy who kicked the dog in the last episode. He was pissed that Blood had threatened his life and he couldn't do anything about it, so he took it out on his own defenseless dog.
Otto is pretty smart, and he was hand for 3 kings, he has experience running the seven kingdoms. It's true he was too ambitious, but most lords are, remember when Corlys tried to marry his 8 year old to the king?
@@IAmJustR Ifs don't do, Rhaenyra would probably have had other challenges and caused a lot of instability in her reign: woman on the throne (which may force her to kill Alicent's kids), her heirs are clearly bastards, Daemon would still be a problem...etc)
28:13 Blake, my dude, are you sure you don't have a seeing eye like Haelena? Shame that the show did not keep one of the twin survived. it could keep the suspense high of everyone to keep guessing, "Is this Erryk or Arryk?" Of course he'd say he's Erryk, but is he? Make Rhaenyra distrustful of her own guard.
Why is every single decision so rushed and brash from every single character in this show? That's getting annoying real quick, and the fight scene with the twins was some straight up Bugs Bunny 1,2 switcheroo bullsh*t. If the writing is this overtly lazy this early in the show, a repeat of the D&D situation is inevitable. The acting is really the only thing keeping me watching. Regardless of the scattered style of writing, these actors are all doing an amazing job with what they've been given to work with so far.
"I thought she was gonna spit some predictions." Wait until it hits you that the piece she was embroidering when she said that she was afraid of the rats was literally her son's funeral shroud, and that's what she shoved at Alicent, saying, "This is for my boy."
Daemon is not selfish! He loved his brother and Rhaenyra. He only wants what he think is "best" for the glory of his house. He's blindly loyal, however he has ZERO control over his impulses which can, and will, yield some devastating results.
It's not out of guilt. It's kind of a learned response. Otto ignores Alicent's problems/ her reaching out to him for help, as she does with Aegon, and Aegon sort of does with Helaena
"Good" Erryk/Arryk? There are no good or bad sides in these stories. Only casualties. It's more clear in the book that neither side is innocent but the show has taken liberties and decided to make one side more virtuous than the other. I DO like how this scene made it ambiguous as to which brother won the fight. It could very well have been the "bad" Erryk/Arryk that won but realized after his death that he was wrong and called Rhaenyra "Your Grace, forgive me." and fell on his sword to keep his oath. Or the "good" one and was so grief stricken that he couldn't bear it. We'll never know. Just like the book.
@@AegonJaegerspoken like a true green fan without any real knowledge of the book because you couldn’t be more wrong in the books Alicent is a horrible person yet she’s made to seem like a victim in the show 😂 stop being delusional it’s so annoying with you green fans look up some facts.
Otto is a POS. He doesn’t care to put Rhaenyra’s life in peril. He convinced Vicerys to name her the heir, only to repudiate her later on and liying all the time at the expenses of her life and the life of hid children
The two sailor’s Alyn and his brother may have some relation to Corlys whitch means they may have dragon blood in them giving them the power to claim a dragon, the dragon that was flying around the beach was laenor’s dragon SEA SMOKE, so we may see someone new join team black.
Since literally none of this is in the show i dont know why you are spoilering. Information not presented in the show is a spoiler, it isn't a complicated thing.
@@shockmesane4158 The comments are dark and full of spoilers my lord. The non book readers are better off not reading comments. I come from a place of sympathy.
@@anoushkas8726 I've read the book, my only question is if idiots like this guy are spoilering intentionally or if they are so dumb they don't know they are spoilering. My bet is on the latter, people are very dumb.
@@anoushkas8726 and there are a million other comment sections in videos with full spoilers you can comment on, coming to a video like this to talk about that stuff just makes you a dick in my book.
Looking forward to American Horror Story. It shows not only real occurences of American horrors but classic tropes/urban legends as well and how they affected people's lives.
What is so hard to understand when the scene literally before Alicent walking out on her son was Otto dismissing Alicent trying to confide in her father? The way people in this fandom try and have any reason to hate on Alicent is nasty, hypocritical and misogynistic. Like tone down the bias.
11:38 that is NOT true LOL- Viserys was never worried about glory or thought Daemon was better than him, if anything he was the type of man that would praise daemon and uplift him it's just daemon is untrustworthy and goes ROGUE a lot hence him being called the rogue Prince. Daemon is a narcisst who clearly thinks highly of himself. Viserys and Rhaenyra have always supported him and tried their best to... but Daemon is gonna do what he wants and when it comes to politics/crown him being so unreliable and untrustworthy is dangeous hence why Viserys never made him his hand
Yes I agree killing a child is wrong, very wrong. But I am also on Daemons side when he said that Rhaenyra is acting like Viserys. Weak. Sometimes in life, too much kindness is also not good. Rhaenyra wants to achieve her goals without spilling blood yes I understand but does the greens think that way? They don’t care about who they kill.. They dont care about spilling blood. Like Aegon said in episode 1 that they couldve just killed rhaenyra when they had the chance. Daemon just wants his house to be strong. And he warned Viserys last season about the hightowers. This is just my opinion, yet I maybe wrong. Just look at what happened in Season 1. I feel like if Viserys Married Laena Velaryon, there would be no drama as bad as this. I also think otto knew that Viserys was talking about aegon the conqueror but wanted to play dumb and ride along with alicent being delusional. Thats why otto laughed when Aegon said that he was made king by viserys. And the dragon above Addam Velaryon I believe is seasmoke.
Otto and Alicent are just dumb. I guess they thought if they didn't properly prepare Aegon to rule, they could just easily control him... as if he's not gonna grow into a mind of his own and also have other people in his ears attempting to do the same... it's just a mess. If they want peace so bad, they could've just let Rhaenyra have her throne lol.
Guys, the show is spoonfeeding it to you, they cant console each others cause they lack the skills! Alison needed Otto to hear her out and be a present father to her during her moment of vulnarity and guilt and he didnt offert it to her. Then, she sees her son grieving and she wants to be for him but she phisically cant (you can see it in her face). Im not team green but Alison is such a good character, very complex and grey, Aegon too. He is being driven by grief and hate
greetings from germany :) the new episode has released here monday morning 4 a.m. - same time as in the us (in your time). i always watch the new episode before work and after work i love to see your reaction :)
I love how in this episode you can tell Otto regrets putting Aegon on the throne and i'm thinking if he'd supported Rhaenyra if things could've been avoided. And once we get further in the show Otto is going to really regret what he did and his own attempt to avoid war is what inevitability causes it.
I just wanna point out the show has a lot of changes from the book, that being said I don’t think Erryk (the good twin) didn’t 💀himself Arryk did at the start of the fight Erryk gets a slice to the leg which Arryk used to gain the upper hand when he was getting strangled, and the line from the book still works because he just killed his brother AND he’s surrounded by enemies they can’t trust the right twin is dead.
Daemon straight up murdered his first wife because he thought she was ugly and wanted an inheritance. He isn’t a morally grey character he’s a bad guy who sometimes acts in other’s interests.
@@YounaPun an author can have their own interpretation of their work. A man who murders innocents and orders the murder of children is not a grey character, he’s a charismatic evil one.
That’s literally what morally grey is your suppose to agree with every decision they make 😂 get out your personal feelings y’all always say what Daemon is doing but Aegon was constantly r@ping women and his mothers covers it up
Great episode, great reaction ❤ I watched an HBO behind-the-scenes clip about the fight between the twins. They said that each twin had the same wounds in the same areas and it was done intentionally so that you wouldn’t be able to tell them apart even if you tried. Rip to Erryk and Arryk💔 I’m gonna miss them and their beautiful hair lol As for the ending … 🙄. I wanted to throw something at my TV. I hate Criston and Alicent together 🤮
Halaena always hated being touched and was always absent minded, so when she saw Aegon on the stairs, he knew he couldn't provide what she needed and she couldn't provide what he needed and he was hurting too bad to try. I think it'd better to try and understand instead of jumping on the hate wagon 😅.
How are y'all STILL watching without subtitles??!?!?!?! Its ridiculous not having them with this show. I know for a fact yall missed dialogue because of it
I think they watch with subtitles, its just not edited in. I think I've seen them react to dialogue before its been said, so they must've read it before hand.
Hugh Hefner look 😂 This episode felt like a soap opera Glad Otto is out and I think him watching the after math/fallout of his scheming play out from the sidelines actually isn’t enough punishment Going to miss the Ricks 😢 The guy you wondered about is Hugh Hammer the one who asked about advance payment for the Iron workers He’s important The dragon is seasmoke - Laenors dragon Viserys was NOT honorable - he was a hypocrite too HE MARRIED ALICENT!!! While making Rhaenyra marry Laenor. He didnt marry strategically but made Rhaenyra do so. Had be married Laena - NONE of this would have happened!!!
