@@earth2saka Says who? Aegon is last person who would know it as he was unconcious, and only know that they got wrecked. And Criston Cole said he was long in dying so STILL NOT DEAD.
I don't know what it is but the quote "The dragons dance, and men are like dust under their feet" is just such a great line and accurately describes when the dragons do battle. I love it!
@@Vurawn410 ngl there was a lot of scenes/dialogue that i was a huge fan of this season and not particularly bothered by this season at all just sucks we gotta wait 2yrs for it to all pay off in season 3.
Cole questioning of the ideals that he once lived by, being corrupted by them, realizing it’s all meaningless in the face of the annihilation that awaits them all is very quintessential asoiaf. Honestly one of the best scenes of the whole show and kudos to the writers because they did a fantastic job with his character in season 2, added a lot more humanity to him
I find it ironic yet fitting that Cole and Daemon come to essentially the same conclusion about their meaning in the grand scheme but both reach it and respond to it in completely different ways.
Ryan Condal and his team wrote this season with a 10 episode arc. They finished the scripts around Jan 2023. Then in March, HBO/WBD told them they had to cut their budget. With a writers' strike ongoing, completely rewriting everything to move the climax to episode 8 was a difficult thing to do. Especially if having the CGI required for that battle would likely be impossible given the budget constraints. If anyone is to blame for this, it is David Zazlov and the executives at Warner Bros. Discovery. Now that they have decided to wrap up the series in just 2 more seasons, hopefully they can pace the show out properly to give it proper season/series finales. And *hopefully* WBD gives them the necessary money to make it.
Great, so put Rahena on a green puppet in the studio and draw a dragon in post afterwards. Start the Battle of the Gullet. Have Aemond look Daemon in the eye. Do something. Anything. Just not nothing.
with how reception has been going, if anything I expect budget to be cut even more. This season is already much lower in terms of ratings and viewership numbers.
I would've settled for at least seeing Rhaena bond with her dragon and take off toward Dragonstone to join up with everyone else. After watching her run all that time at least give us that, esp since this season was all about discovering new dragon riders.
It's been confirmed by an actor during a podcast, that s2 was originally 10 episodes long. But ONE MONTH before the start of production, HBO (well... Warner Bros) cut it down to 8 episodes, asked the writers to make a rewrite... but then the writers' strike happened, and the writers were not allowed to actually rewrite the season. This is why we got what we got. It's also confirmed that the decision has been made to put what was supposed to be in eps 9 and 10, as a first episode for s3. So actually, 3x01 will kinda be what was meant as the ending of s2. As for my theory as to who has Otto Hightower: I'd say Mysaria has him.
I swear no one remembers what was said this season. There is kinda another war happening with Hightowers and Beesburies. It's more likely that Greyjoys captured him than hecking Aemond or Mysaria 😂
@@kaijutrainer2913 We thought he meant physically strong, but clearly he meant 'Strong' as in the surname. The current owners of Harrenhal, it makes total sense 🤯
The satyr creature was a Green Man from the Isle of Faces. In the middle of the God's Eye lake right next to Harrenhall there is a massive forest of Heart Trees
Because they cut the battle for the Gullet and Rhaenyra taking Kings Landing which was supposed to be the season 2 finale and moved it to the start of season 3
Well, HBO had budget issues so if there was more episodes/there'd been one of the upcoming big battles, they couldn't have done justice to it. Furthermore, there was the writer's strike: they couldn't tweak or rework the script. They had to work with what they had, and considering the many issues, I think they did a good job :) Not perfect ofc, but understandable and still enjoyable
17:40 My favourite thing about this scene is Helaena telling Aemond about his fate in multiple tenses. “YOU'LL be dead. You WERE swallowed up in the God’s Eye, and you ARE never seen again.” Future, past, present. It’s all jumbled together for her. I really love that detail.
@ianwestc, I’m cracking the fuck up 🤣🤣🤣…. She was fine anyway Syrax had that overview so if she wanted to rain down fire on the men below that would be easy cake for her
32:36 Melisandre did say "Prophecies are dangerous things," because they're only getting flashes of things to happen and they need to interpret through in order for it to play out. I loved this finale. Reminded me of the season 6 finale of GoT where we waited around for Danearys to get her stuff together before finally sailing to Westeros with her dragons and knowing we have a 2 year wait!
Daemon probably thought that Daenerys comes from his and Rhaenyra's lineage, which is a fact. That's why he knelt down and finally recognized her as queen. Ryan Condal, the showrunner, confirmed that Daemon thinks Daenerys will be his daughter with Rhaenyra. We know that's not exactly what it is, but Daemon doesn't know that, and interprets it that way. I liked this, even though the ending was weak.
Fact from the book, Daemon never had those visions of the future he never touched the tree and he never went to Harenhall in the first place, this was all changed for the show to connect it with Game of Thrones. He always served Rhaenyra and he went to Riverlands to gather an army for her.
@@tomislavmuskovic4139 Firstly, Daemon absolutely did go to Harrenhal in F&B. He took it just like he did in the show, by landing Caraxes on top and SImon Strong surrendering without a fight and then rose a host from there. Secondly, F&B is written from the perspective of people who were there and observed the events, not from a bird's eye view. Therefore, the people writing about the Dance would not know about Daemon's wavering loyalty to Rhaenyra, which makes perfect sense given his lifelong coveting of his brother's throne. You're right that the vision from the weirwood was added to connect to GoT, but I really don't have a problem with it narratively.
@@tomislavmuskovic4139fact: Daemon did go to Harrenhal in the books, and as a non-POV character, we have absolutely no insight into what visions he did or did not have. Is it unlikely the book version had the same experience the show character did? Yes. Is it impossible? No.
@@Cuprous-ne5ss I think its time to stop "the book has unreliable narrators" as an excuse for the shitty writing in the show. The book had whole another characters, Nettles, Kermit, Elmo etc. The show didnt cut them because "well the book is unreliable" its because they wanted to cut it.
While I respect that Eric thinks the Corlys scene with his rightly angry son was the best of the season, I think if you go back, the scene with Otto Hightower in despair over Aegon's killing of the ratcatchers was 10/10. People talk about Matt Smith being good with his lines, but Rhys's delivery was as Shakespearean as you could get. Even if you hate Otto, you can't help but feel like Rhys elevates the scene and show in that moment.
Rhys was fantastic. With him gone, this season lost its backbone. Matt Smith is doing his best but the writers took a major dump on his arc so he couldn't carry the whole thing by himself.
I honestly think all the actors have been bringing it to this show. Like whatever fault we may find with the characters, you can't blame the actors for it. Everyone is bringing their A game. But yes that scene was awesome and Rhys Ifans deserves all the accolades for it.
@@earth2sakaI don't understand this point of the writers "taking a dump on his arc" when not only was he central to this season and had some of the most significant scenes in the show in terms of characterization and set up for future events.
@@earth2saka If you actually read F&B you'd know that Daemon sitting at Harrenhal twiddling his thumbs for the better part of a year is exactly what happens.
All the main cast members in different episodes this (and last) season have had sensational standout acting moments, but that scene this season is still the one I think about now. The quality is probably heightened by it being the last episode we saw him in until that split moment in the finale. I know some HotD fans only know him from this show, but he's been a fantastic actor with incredible range for years.
I haven’t seen a cliffhanger cliffhanger this hard since the word cliffhanger was used to describe what a cliffhanger is at the end of a movie or television show to only then go on to be used as a title for the movie Cliffhanger starring Sylvester Stallone.
They had to cut the last two episodes from the show because Warner Bros. slashed their budget at the last minute in anticipation of the writers strike. The last two episodes were very battle heavy and they weren't given enough time to rework the scripts before they had to be turned into the network. So they ended the season on episode 8, which is them riding off into battle. Originally the show wa supposed to only run 3 seasons but was awarded a 4th in order to end it on the right note. So if the ending is anti-climatic, it isn't really their fault.
Felt more like a middle season episode but had some great acting moments. Alicent and aemon fighting over helaena was good, and addam to corlys was very good
More like it shows how she's a relatively insignificant part of a bigger whole into which she'll pass and join history before long. If it was meant to show what you say, they would've made the shape more distinct, more unique. But it's the same as everyone else's, just not filled in yet.
@@earth2saka I like that, sounds better. However, in contrast to Alicent’s scene Rheanyra has the weight of her name to carry in this civil war while once again Alicent is finally free of that pressure after so long
Alicent betraying her children, brother and lover Criston isnt freedom. Just shitty writing from a lesbian writer that thinks removing men from your life means freedom. Even your own sons. Geeta Patel the director has said Rhaenyra wanted to go with Alicent and abandon her own children which is just insane. Apparently a strong woman is a woman who abandons her own children.
ruined Alicents character completely. Ends season 1 standing face to face with a dragon to protect her son, ends season 2 selling him out to die after all he suffered.... awful writing. Book Alicent would rather die than betray her sons
@@whatisreddin7367 We still have 2 seasons to go.. I doubt this will actually be her last time in the show. Chill my dude, the show is based off the books not an exact translation of them. Just enjoy it for what it is.
I get what Eric is saying regarding Winter is Coming and how it’s hard not to think about the outcome because as an audience we know. I just try to take the show for what it is and separate it or else I won’t enjoy it. I do this with Star Wars as well lol.
This whole "let me show you how we got to this point" culture we have in media nowadays is unoriginal and bland af. HotD suffers even more because it's standing in GoT's shadow. Big shoes to fill.
Someone pointed out on another reaction, Ulf is just a relaxed uncle having dinner with the first family he has had in who knows how long. He's just so happy to be there. Look how he grabbed and hugged Jace when he found out who he was. Everybody at that dinner he considers family because they ARE. They all share the blood of Dragonlords. Even the ones that aren't his half-brother's descendents. They still have the blood of Old Valarya.
I mean he has to know it's rude to mention Jace's bastardy while touching his hair. I get that he's a commoner with no manners but even peasants know that you probably shouldn't insult a royal prince or mention his lack of legitimacy as the heir. The way Ulf did it came off as very provocative and insulting for no reason. He was kind of being a dick and I find that odd. He may be a simple man but he shouldn't be acting braindead by insulting royalty.
My favourite scene was the confrontation with Otto, the actor and writing were terrific. The last few episodes haven't felt even like the same writers. Still I have enjoyed both seasons overall.

This was episode 8 alright... of a 10 episode season. It's a shame, but I really hope HBO don't cut the budget for this. They're gonna need money to fix it with season 3 and 4.
It seems clear with the timeline that it was HBO/WBD that cut the budget after the 10 episode season was written. And Ryan Condal is towing the company line and not rocking the boat so he can finish his story.
@@CraigKostelecky yes, they wrote ten episodes and didn't have time to rewrite it with the strike looming. If they had begun rewriting and not finished in time they would've had to postpone the whole production. This could've worked as an 8 episode season, there were pointless fillers here and there, but they would've needed time to rework it.
Pretty sure Lohar may have been attracted by Tyland (maybe not), but the reason the Essosi don't care about male primogeniture is because they respect strength. And getting pregnant herself would leave her more vulnerable. Hence the wives.
Honestly I feel bad for the writers of this season. You can really tell how they were set up for 10 episodes and then got screwed by the higher ups when they forced them to cut it to 8 due to those funding issues at Warner Brothers, and then reportedly the writer's strike literally forced them to not change basically anything when they would have wanted to (take those claims/rumours with a grain of salt off course, but I buy them). Episodes 9 and 10 were clearly supposed to be the payoff for 5-8 just as 4 was the payoff for 1-3, with the (spoiler) sea-battle and the assault on (spoiler) being a double-finale to end the season on a banger with after repeatedly hinting and foreshadowing those events. Because yeah (least spoilery spoiler ever, but skip this if you want zero spoilers) the sequences of events is pretty much, Rhaenys dies at Rook's Rest, Rhaenyra finds more dragonriders and gives them some basic training, and then more-or-less the day she prepares to set off to storm into King's Landing the Triarchy navy comes ROARING into the Gullet, straight into the rear of the Velaryon blockade and royally ruining everyone's day, both their own and Rhaenyra's. Won't spoil anymore than that. THAT was clearly what was supposed to be the big thing for penultimate episode 9. After that bloodbath, the finale was clearly meant to be Rhaenyra picking up the pieces she has left with and setting of for KL, as she very very clearly is about to do at the end of this episode. Again, I won't spoil anymore than that. If you believed Rhaenyra was about to die, I'm sorry for spoiling you (though you really need to get your head checked if you thought that George would do all this buildup and preparation for nothing). Instead some penny-clinging caused this season to be 7/8ths buildup. A mostly very good season of buildup mind you, at least imho, but a season of buildup nonetheless. And now instead of having two pretty expensive seasons, they've pushed so much battles and action to season 3 that they're looking at an EYE-WATERING budget for that one. Congratulations, you f-ing morons, you played yourselves and needlessy annoyed the fans in the process.
Yeah absolutely this, you're right. came here to mention this. I dont agree w everything they did this season, some things are weird and felt (alicents characterization took a sudden turn at the start in service of accelerating to where they wanted to go) but its not all their fault. I hope they go back to 10 episodes for s3 and s4.
Apparently they were told a month before filming started which is insane. No wonder we got early info on a battle being cut, that stuff would have already been in the middle of pre-production
I really like you guys pointing out that Ulf's ignorance is also partly him not buying into the monarchy bullshit. A lot of fans got pissed off at him for being disrespectful. I get we're all simps of certain monarchs in the show, but at the end of the day, the whole "divine right of kings," fictional or otherwise, is propaganda to keep oppressing the working class aka small folk.
We can call it propaganda; but, sadly, people on both sides of the class divide, believed it in our history. The better monarchs subscribed also to the part of the divine right doctrine that dictated monarchs should protect and help their people as well as expect "fealty"/obedience from them...
His behaviors match what he has known his whole life. When we see him at the bar we see him having a great time and getting drunk. He has never been to a feast, and probably has never spoken to a lord or someone of royalty. I also think he now see's himself as one of them due to having his own dragon. This parallels Hugh, who we see caring for his family, and even speak in a respectful manner when asking Aegon for help.
I know people are decisive about the tie in vision, but hearing traitor from Brynden Rivers and seeing him as he was when he became the tree eyed raven was bad ass. And hoping that will be the actor casted to play him in Knights of the Seven Kingdoms.
Because that vision never happened in the book, Daemon never saw any visions, he never touched the tree, he never went to Harenhall and the voice that said traitor was meant for that other guy he spoke with in the last episode.
@tomislavmuskovic4139 right, that's because Grand Maester Glydayn wouldn't have known any of that, Mushroom or Maester Munkun wouldn't have wrote about or known either.
@@chrisretzlaff2895 Stop with the 'unreliable narrator in the book' excuse. They cut out several characters from the books that were public figures that 100% were alive. So clearly they're changing from the books.
@govinddas7876 Maelor and a couple of minor characters as of now have been cut. Nothing that makes a huge difference. The big one that people are saying is Nettles, and I'm not entirely sure that character has been cut. I think the restructer just won't introduce her until the first episode of Season 3. Maybe why Rhaena didn't hop on that dragon.
@@tomislavmuskovic4139Daemon did go to Harrenhal in the books though. He captures it without a fight same as in the show. When Daemon tells Rhaenyra a son for a son it’s via a raven sent from Harrenhal. If you’re going to try and use the books to back your claim at least make sure you’re right about what you’re saying.
4:33 I'm only just realizing what this moment meant and how poorly it was executed. I personally thought it was King's Landing burning. It was later explained via exposition that this was another small castle town we've never heard of. But the underlying point this was meant to convey was that Aemond simply went and torched a random family who'd sworn to the Blacks, without any battle plans or council discussion. This was really bad storytelling and certainly could have been omitted in favor of actually getting to a real punchline for the season.
They left sunfyre at rooks rest bc it seemed like they were dying slowly. So it’s to be assumed they are dead. Most likely have a surprise reunion of sunfyre coming back to aegon somewhere in the next season
Varys in GoT also says Nettles rode Sheepstealer but she was cut from HOTD all the same. These dogshit showrunners are literally just making fanfiction. dont be surprised if the say "sunfyre surviving rooks rest was just green propaganda 🤓"
I felt like when we see Helaena repeating her line from Damon's vision but from an outside pont of view she was saying it to herself, not to Daemon. Like if she was accepting that she needs to be a part of this war
There was a triarchy commander like this in the books named Racallio Ryndoon-they’ve merged him with Lohar who is barely described apart from being a triarchy Admiral. Ryndoon often wore a dress, had multiple wives who he preferred pregnant, but clearly was a man who died his hair and beard blue. It’s not mentioned if Ryndoon played much of a role in the Dance-he led the fleet that attacked the Stepstones between Daemon and Corlys conquering them and the Dance and he survived into the reign that follows the Dance.
"Leave me again at your own peril" *super tense and stern vibe* "I can't leave you. I've tried." Killed the tension immediately. That was also, like, a super reassuring way of putting it. Like "You've already seen my at my least loyal. And I couldn't even leave you then."
For me I think it’s important to remember that while they’re from the same network/studio this show and GOT are not the same. I know that D&D said that they knew the ending to the series but I’ve always thought that it was gonna end differently to the book. If, God willing, we ever see the end of the books I wouldn’t be surprised at all of the ending was completely different from GOT. Plus, George is still heavily involved it this show so perhaps the prophecy holds more weight than we think.
Alicent agreeing to behead Aegon and open the gates to the side of her grandson's killer was the dumbest thing I've seen in a while. I guess Alicent just kind of forgot that she made Aegon king out of fear of her sons being killed by Rhaenyra as they'd have the stronger claim than her. What does she think will happen to Daeron, her young and kind son who's marching with the hightower host? She's doomed ALL of her sons because she didn't get her way in a war she started
You do know a lot of things changed for her since then right. And she didn't start the war, that's ridiculous the show very plainly showed that it was happening already no matter what she did. She had zero effect on it.
@@BrendanBeckett She started it on her own, and then realized that everyone else was already on board. That's a moot point. And yeah, a lot of things changed for her. She refused to counsel Aegon when he sought her out for it and called him useless, which made him so insecure he rode out and crippled himself trying to fight Rhaenys alone to prove himself. She then gets removed from the council by Aemond, and following a swim IMMEDIATELY betrays everything she held dear to offer her son's head to Rhaenyra. You gotta be doing some crazy mental gymnastics to think any of that makes sense with the established character. In addition, how the fuck is she getting over to Dragonstone immediately following Aemond's "Check all ships coming to and from King's Landing" bit? Did the writers kind of forget? Did Grand Maester Orwyle fly her over on a fucking raven?? There are so many things wrong with this last episode and I'm astonished at the defense for the GOT S8 tier writing of Alicent and Rhaenyra's scene in particular.
@@BrendanBeckett And also she forgot about her grandson who was beheaded that she had to parade through the city with, she didn't even think to mention it when Rhaenyra demands a son for a son she just complies after looking a little anxious.
@@Fireground42 "She started it on her own, and then realized that everyone else was already on board." If you recall, she's been bending over backwards to NOT start a war over it, so no, she did not start anything either in reality or in her intention. Then she realized just how bad Aegon was, he got mangled to the point where death might be a mercy, Aemond took over and is totally psycho, she lost all her power, and she found out she was wrong about Visery's wishes. Of course that's likely to change her stance massively, it would be weird if it didn't. Add to that her realization that there is about to be mass death and destruction beyond what she ever imagined possible, and that she can prevent it. At this point it would be bad writing if she didn't have a radical change of heart. Things like how she got to Dragonstone are so nitpicky that it kind of blows my mind. Is it that hard to imagine the Grand Maester has ways to sneak out? You're just searching for things to support your opinion at this point. To compare this episode to anything in season 8 is ludicrous, this is a 10/10 episode that didn't work well as a finale.
There are several theories about the dead dragons Daemon saw. One "breakdown" channel thought they were from the Doom. But, there are sounds of battle in the background. And Daemon transitions to a field of dead soldiers. Another possibility is a specific battle from the events of the Dance. Dragons who will fall during the Dance. Yet another possibility is the night of the Slaughter. When the smallfolk overrun the Dragonpit and massacre the dragons and eggs there. I think it is a battle we will see in the series.
@@earth2saka sure am. Abubakar Salim (Alyn of Hull) is a trustworthy and capable person of making this character his own and as shown he added more to the role. knew of him from Raised by wolves (only watched that show in the interest of Travis Fimmel) and also Voice acting Bayek of Siwa from Assassins Creed Origin which is frkn awesome
Eric not being able to control the intrusive impulse of quoting Triumph the insult comic is the most relatable thing I’ve ever seen on this channel. 10/10. No Notes.
apparently the season was written as 10 episodes and got cut to 8 with only 1 month until filming... plus writers strike. explains why this doesnt feel like a final episode
So the connection between Daemon, Rhaenyra, and the future is that their line will lead directly to Jon and Dany. If they hadn't won this war or moved the pieces around, it's quite likely their descendants would not have been born. Jon, in particular, was instrumental in mobilizing the forces to stand against the threat beyond the wall. You don't necessarily have to be happy about the way the Game of Thrones saga ends, but to say there's no connection is not really true. It's very much connected through the Targaryen line. And that part of the line is D&R's. Also, the horned man outside by the Godwood tree, before Daemon went to touch it, is likely one of the inhabitants of the Isle of Faces which sits in the middle of the God's Eye lake outside of that castle. They are magical beings very much connected to the old gods.
Season 2 needed to be 10 episodes with the battle of the gullet and kings landing adapted. Now we have to wait 2 years for that + many other events that scare me budget and time wise.
For all they joked about "kinda forgetting", it would seem a lot of people forgot the whole thing about most big events taking place *before* the season finale. Between that and the ones complaining about the lack of action, a lot of people actually miss the final seasons of GoT. 😄
No, and that matches the book quite well. After blood and cheese they slept separate. After Rook's Rest she does not even make an attempt to visit him. The death of her kid pretty much causes her to spiral into depression, talking to no one, and rarely eating.
As easy as it is to discount Ulf, I could see them easily doing a switch on us, make him ultimately the one that is reliable, or at the very least saves the day in some fashion, and that one of the others might die/desert/betray in the end.. it's just one of those shows that things aren't always as they as initially shown
@@Toaster7 You do know that Rhaena is Nettles in the show, right? They literally merged the characters. Not saying I prefer it, but having Nettles in there would surely be more correct to the source material.
I think the Song of Ice & Fire is an important part of the show. We know in GoT non Targaryens come to know the prophecy that was only passed King to Hier, until some point before Robert’s rebellion. So the fact we know there are beings guiding the story beyond the King to Hier secret is important! I do hope HOTD explores it more because it gives it a good spring board for a spin off or even prequels as sequels kind of thing would be cool.
The Bloodraven (Three Eyed Raven) is born I believe about 50 years after HOTD but my math could be off so yeah.. crazy. Bryndan Rivers (Bloodraven) is the son of Aegon 4th.. In this show Aegon is still the 2nd.
Ik a lot of people have been complaining about it but imo Daemon's arc this season reconciles the "strong, uncompromising, power-hungry" characterisation of the character with the statement in Fire & Blood that he never challenged Rhae-Rhae for the throne. It always struck me as odd that a character as headstrong and single-minded as Daemon would support someone else, particularly a woman, and I always felt that there must've been something deeper to justify that. His Weirwood vision and all the others before it explains it I understand people's disappointment at the lack of a battle this season but tbf, GoT's first actually satisfying battle was in Season 4, and HotD has given us two so far that blow anything pre-Battle Of The Wall out of the water (even if the one in S1 was kinda dumb strategically)
I'm with you in general, and I wasn't really disappointed either, but would you not consider the Battle of the Blackwater in Season 2 of GoT a satisfying battle?
@@Gamash hellll nah man it was basically twenty people running around an empty space with some fire in the background, the wildfire was an incredible spectacle but nothing like seeing Seasmoke & Caraxes in HotD 1 and Sandor leading a charge outside the city walls instead of just shooting off the top of the wall was just as strategically dumb as Daemon’s strategy in the Stepstones. Ultimately people like what people like and I’m not gonna judge someone for not liking what I like but the only battle I’ve ever seen that comes close to Rook’s Rest was The Gold Road in GoT 7
I wish I could actually see it like this but no. They built up Deamon's charcater with visions for 6 whole episodes only for it all to not matter at all. All that build up for him to go "I'm only doing this because of the prophetic vision I saw" Imagine how satisfying it would be for his character to actually grow and have that change instead of the 'because muh prophecy' bs again.
May have been a build up but it's basically the midway point in this whole series. People call it filler, I call it exposition. I writing, directing, design and acting was phenomenal. They did what they could having a budget cut and writing for 10 episodes but being forced into 8. The writer strike effected this and the production company. But they did make art and I still loved it. And I know they will be prepared for s3 and 4.
Alicent was so insane here... Talking about viserys being sustained but really she's using viserys to express her OWN feelings again. And "come with me" is literally deranged of her.. for all this seasons flaws (mostly due to factors working against it), olivia cooke never misses
Wdym Three-Eyed Raven SEND Daemon a vision? Daemon is the one who put his hand on the tree himself, he himself had the vision. He's a greenseer. For anyone who didn't see the clues, look up GrayArea's and Grey Waste Tim's videos about it, it makes sense.
Except for the fact that this never happened in the book, Daemon never had any visions, never touched the tree, never went to Harenhall in the first place so all this was a big change from the book.
@@tomislavmuskovic4139 you didn't read the book. He DID go to Harrenhal, he did interface with the tree, he strikes it 13 times. There's tons of details in book that allude to him being a greenseer. Watch GrayArea's and Grey Waste Tim's videos on the subject.
@@ToonRaiderhe’s not a greenseer but green dreams can be brought on through magic. We have no evidence that he had the visions or interfaced with the tree. He DID however strike the tree thirteen times and the wounds still bleed to the present day. I liked the dreams but there isn’t actually much hinting to the visions.
Finally, in this last episode I became fond of the characters. In my opinion this last episode is well written... and honestly a lot of things happen. And it's a season finale like the first 3 seasons of Got where the last episode was a preparation for the next one
26:29 speaking of a game I wish they would make an alternate timeline version of Game of Thrones as an open world video game like Jedi Survivor or Destiny type of vast open game. Letting you choose which house you wish to play as. Also getting to play as a Targaryen with you reaching level 10 your dragon egg hatches and as your character levels up so does your dragon. Winning upgrade points to increase certain attributes in your dragon. Eventually reaching a level with your dragons big enough to fly on. Also say you pick house Stark then you get a Direwolf
I was worried that Daemons story wasn’t going to pay off considering how slow it felt throughout the season, but now I see that he NEEDED to have his ego and worldview be broken down by the dark magic of Harrenhal. By seeing the dream of the future, the song of ice and fire, and after he sees that he never really needed the crown, he now puts all of his heart into fighting for Rhaenyra.
The Satyr was a Green Man. They're a secret order of men who reside in the Isle of Faces, which is the island you can see from Harrenhal. They're one of the most interesting and obscure parts of the lore, and the scene alludes to them truly being connected to the Old Gods. In the books, Jojen and Meera's dad, Howland Reed, visited the Isle of Faces and studied with the Green Men as a young man.
If the Three-Eyed Raven is going back in time and showing visions to daemon of what will/could be …kinda messing with the past depending on who else they show visions to…could this ultimately change the future 😮
In the books I’m pretty sure brynden or whatever he name is was born like 45 yrs after the dance of the dragons. So it’s not exactly generations but it’s still a fair distance. Pretty cool. Also could be wrong
A massive open world game letting you travel all around Westeros. Then download DC upgrades to the game letting you travel across the narrow sea and if your a dragon rider then you can begin a massive conquest. I believe a game like this would make HBO Max and GRRM dump trucks filled with money to do the many shows there wanting to do
The vision scene is really cool. I would love to see some crazy stuff like the Hodor reveal with Helena’s Dragon Dream like her being the one to wake up Jon Snow when he is revived. That would be really cool.
I think the whole idea with Daenerys is not that she sits on the iron throne and to rule, but to have a targaryen at the end to unite an army, to fight the long night and to defeat the nightking and the white walkers, which Danny and Jon eventually do. Everything after destroying the nightking doesn't matter. The aftermath is an epilogue. there is no need for the iron throne or targaryens anymore. they were destined to save the world and in the end they did.
@@pintolerance785 yes arya did it, however we needed the targaryens to conquer the kingdoms, to build the iron throne, to rule for 200 plus years, to then have an army ready in the north and to be there to defeat the night king. without all of that there would not have been a defense for humanity..I don't think it matters who pulled the trigger, but that there was a force to combat the great enemy and in this story everyone had their parts to play.
@@VictorTerzis-aka-nvictus but wait, what does that have to do with Rhaenyra and Daemon taking back the throne from Aegon? In the grand scheme of things isn't this just like a little meaningless spat. And why is the iron throne part of defeating the Night King. I don't see how the long night factors into the events of this show other than making all the game of thrones fans soyjack because they saw something that they'd seen before. Also, Arya Mario hopped off the heads of like an army of Whitewalkers to stab The Night King after he plowed through every single defense that they had.
@@pintolerance785 It is a little spat however it has happened and is part of the story now. We know that nothing in this world ever happens directly or straight away. things are layered and messy. it's all jumbled like the roots of the weirwood trees. from what information we know of the show is that 1) Aegon the conqueror had a dream/vision (similar to what daemon just had in the godswood) of what was to come and 2) that Aegon believed there had to be a ruling power in westeros to unite humanity and defend humanity and fight the army of the dead. Humanity had to find a way to survive. everything, all the events, every person who lived has a part in this worlds story. each person and events adds threads going forward. a tapestry interwoven to eventually tell the story. The way I see it is to expand the scope or the view of the events in this world. it has to do with humanity surviving. That's the way I see this story.
@@pintolerance785 As much as I loved Arya's character, I always felt it was so odd how they let her be the one to finish The Night King off. With all the prophecies ect, it honestly didn't make a lot of sense.
Great reaction Wave Crew! Those armies at the end tho', feels like Season 3 will definitely be Battle Focused (Battle of the Gullet & Battle on the God's Eye) - hopefully it'll be 10 episodes, with 5 episodes for each Battle. Anyway, looking forward to next season!
