Meanwhile, the pirates were using hideouts & the cover of darkness to operate from. Even if more dragons had been sent, they would never have been able to tell “friendly” merchant ships in the sea from pirate ships, from high in the air. Since they, as pirates, would always try to avoid being found or seen, that’s why someone (that is, Daemon) had to finally go and lure them out to fight in the open.
I'm happy Daemon is getting the recognition he deserved from the fan's for being one of the best characters from ASOIAF. Ofc I might be biased because the rogue prince have always been one of my favorites, but now when people mention Dany, Rhagor, or Jon we can start to see Daemon name pop up as well. Hopefully there's a blackfyre spinoff in the future so that another Daemon can be introduce to the fan's.
Unfortunately, Targaryens burn and can die from fire. In Game of Thrones, Daenerys added additional fire resistance, which was not in the canon. She only entered the fire once to revive the dragons, in the aftermath, Drogon almost burned her. So Daemon could have died if he got caught in the flames
They're not immune to fire (what happened to Daenerys was a unique experience according to the books). They are definitely more tolerant towards heat and fire though than the average person as evident from Queen Aemma wanting a boiling bath and Viserys running his hand over the candles in the first episode.
It's Laenor Velaryon on the dragon. Its his dragon which is called Seasmoke. He is half Targaryen through his mother which is why he can ride a dragon.

These city girl's over exaggerated empathy for a wild animal is insane. How do they think wild animals die in the wild without humans? Peacefully? They get ripped and teared apart alive by wolves or bears, or catch a disease that slowly tortures them to death from the insides. A wild animal killed swiftly by a human is the most peaceful death it could get.

The reason Daemon reacted the way he did is because the words of the letter were a massive insult. It implied that Viserys had supported Daemon the entire time, when in fact he had abandoned him and left him to fend for himself for three years. It was very much a showing up at the last minute and claiming credit, which pissed Daemon off. Also, the reason Daemon has a bad reputation is that not only is he eccentric and temperamental, but he's also very much a Targaryen; He does whatever he wants and he's impossible to control, which is why so many of the Lords hate and fear him.
The second sons created a winning alliance after all, the incompetent first son made it seem (inadvertently, as usual) like Daemon needed his help in order to accomplish anything.

Targaryens AREN'T immune to fire. The author clearly stated that Daenerys didn't burn because of the blood magic of sacrificing that witch or whatever, and season 6 thing was made up by the screen writers.

The dragon was Leanor Valyreon's, named seasmoke. It was a smart move for the two cousins to have Daemon be used as bait while waiting for their army to surround him and then release the fire of Leanors Dragon. The opposing side would have forgotten that there was another Targaryen with their own dragon besides Daemon.
The episode ends with three different kills, all says about the killers personality.Killing wild Boar - Rhenerya would never back down from violence , if her life gets threatened. (Kililling - Black deer)Whereas Viserys doesn’t want violence but forced by his surrounding people to do so..And Daemon Targaryen had to embrace violence & put his life in the line to prove Himself (killing crabfeeder) Also by saving the life of White Hart deer Rhenerya proves that she doesn’t need to kill someone just to prove that she is worthy of the Throne...
But it was very stupid of Rhaenyra to not kill the white hart. Who is going to believe her when she just tells people she saw one? Had she killed it and hauled it into the camp, everyone would immediately be convinced and believe the gods sent their favor to Rhaenyra to rule the seven kingdoms. It would have made her position much, much stronger.

A "white hart" would be a large and strong male deer, hart vs stag is pretty much a definitive "large adult male" vs "adult or near adult male" distinction in male deer. An undersized weak male deer would still be a stag once old enough, but a hart is one of considerable size as well. Many people think a white flag means surrender, whilst it is often used as a sign of surrender, it is actually a sign of "let us talk, parlay, discuss some important thing" this is commonly used to open an invitation for discussion of surrender, but in some cases it has been used as a request for a cease fire to retrieve injured from the battlefield, or negotiation. As for the "cannot won for 3 years" it was mentioned the crab feeders men have no reason to leave the caves after they have faced a dragon, unless they are baited out.
The letter was bad news for him, as his brother would have "saved" him and the war and received all the glory. Daemon would literally die before this happens. And no, Targaryens isn't immune to fire, it was blood magic from the sacrifice of Mirri Maz Duu that protected Daenerys in GoT. Jon Snow gets burnt in like season 1 from fire. Some Targaryens may be more tolerant of heat and fire, but trust me.. they can still die from it.
I find it interesting that people get so grossed out about the mention of marrying her brother as people think this was the same as Cersei and Jamie. The difference is this was common for Targaryens and during this time period.
Viserys advice for her daughter to marry is actually a very sound advice concerning how anxious she is about being supplanted. As you will soon see in future episodes the importance of having allies and family behind you in times of war.
Rhaenyra really should have ordered Criston to kill the white stag. The people of Westeros apparently believe that a white stag is a sign that the gods favor you, so if she hauled the carcass of that stag into the camp, showing that she actually was the person who found one, it would have convinced quite a lot of people that Rhaenyra had the gods' favor, which would make her claim to the throne MUCH stronger.
It's not that they didn't thought that plan before.. but they didn't exicute it because it's too risky, but after later from the King demon was so angry that he didn't care

Targaryens are not immune to fire, in the books Daenerys herself is not immune. What happens to her when dragons are born is a unique magical event. George R.R. Martin hates this idea that Game of Thrones has gotten into people's minds that Targaryens are immune to fire.

Earlier they were using dragons but the crabfeeders army would just retreat into the caves and they would be safe... So they needed a bait to draw them out that's why daemon went alone... They explained the strategy just before that
Viserys only sent help after years and would take the credit. Daemon is legendary status after doing what he did. Basically a suicide run lol but it shows he’s working for his worth and not running his mouth. Daemon is the best character in the game of thrones universe why would you want him dead 😆

If the middle woman hates Daemon so much, here is a spoiler for you. Maemon will marry Dhaenyra some day. He will survive 5 seasons, so quit the show as soon as possible. Otherwise it would disappoint you because he will show up in every episode.
The director of this episode said that Rheanyra, Viserys and Daemon emerge out of episode 3 reborn with new perspective on who they are and what their purpose is. Well we just saw Daemon hear that help is coming and he can finally take a breather, but instead he rows out on his own, feigns surrender, and like a coiled snake he strikes cutting down 16 MEN all on his own like he’s playing Middle Earth: Shadow Of Mordor or Devil May Cry 5, gets saved by his army, and then kills the Crab Feeder and drags his corpse out showing off his new trophy! No offense to Rheanyra or Viserys, I love them, but Daemon just leveled up to Legendary Badass level with that scene alone.
The Cole kingsguard will show Rheanyra how to really fight, he already proved himself when he bested Daemon at the tournament. Viserys will join a 12-step program, he's already taken the first step by accepting a Higher Power and apologizing to Rheanyra, maybe an apology to Daemon is next.
They probably never read the book so don't realise he's one of the more important characters, and I'm not going to spoil every thing but deamon will play a and important role at the end of the dance of dragons

Funny thing about this show is that the absolute dumbest person in the show is a Lannister. Lord Jason apparently wanted to marry Rhaenyra, but he didn't even realize that, by supporting her claim, his son would be king and future kings would have Lannister blood. It takes a special kind of stupid to not see such a golden opportunity to be the father of the future king of the realm. Jason pulls it off.

Rhaenyra mocking Lady Redwyne for eating cake was not very smart of her. Not only did she needlessly insult a member of another house and make an enemy, but everything lady Redwyne said made perfect sense. The king did look weak and he absolutely should take action. She seemed to try to get Rhaenyra to put pressure on the king to finally act. For Rhaenyra, this was an opportunity to get involved in politics and make a name for herself, to show to the lords of Westeros that she would be a strong and forceful queen, unlike her weak and undecisive father. She could have greatly strengthened her own position that way as rightful heir to the throne and won allies to her side, but she doesn't seize this opportunity because she's feeling angry and bitter at the moment. That's the main thrust of the first half of the episode: Rhaenyra wants to be queen, but she fails to realize how she needs to make her own position stronger by winning allies and marrying into a great house. Marrying the lord of House Lannister would bring all the wealth and military strength of the Lannisters to Rhaenyra's side and make her so much stronger, in case the Hightowers would try to replace her with her younger brother. And as we know from the original series, you really don't want to go up against the Lannisters if you don't absolutely need to.

Going without the dragon is the last resort though, after all these years the crab feeder wouldn’t expect it and would allow them to go after the bait. daemon could have died... this wasn’t meant to be a grand battle it was meant to show this side of daemon. If you expect something exactly like game of thrones you’ll be disappointed. This is meant to focus on the house of targaryen and the politics, not on the crab feeder or a villian. It’s between the Targaryen’s - not them vs villains you know? But about the war amongst themselves and their individual growths
