House of the Dragon S2: Episode 5 Review 

dreamfyre was not a hatchling, Halaena claimed her. This is the most interesting of all the claiming stories imo. I can’t imagine what Halaenas process was to claim dreamfyre, it sounds really interesting considering her personality, gives me nettles vibes. Sounds like an amazing story. In my headcannon Halaena found Dreamfyre and started talking about bugs and Dreamfyre just got her 😂

Based on where we left off last episode I think Cole believes Sunfyre was dying and couldn't imagine him pulling through. Perhaps a similar mindset to how he feels about Aegon? But if the writers play this right, we could have a series of mysterious and vicious killings by a dragon leading up to the ultimate reveal that Sunfyre didn't die and made his way back to Aegon. 25:12

What we see on the tapestry is basically what would be general knowledge, what the small folk know, what gets recorded into the histories. Not what happens behind closed doors, or even at a secluded castle.

Who’s worse: Aemond vs Daemon. Don’t know. They are likely equally bad, but people are misled by Aemond’s silence. His mother knows what he is. Also, Daemon would not ever hurt Viscerys.

I believe that only Daemon can see Alys too.

If someone/something has not died onscreen, do not assume they are dead. That basic ASOIAF regulation at this point.

I felt Alicent could’ve made a reasonable argument: surely the first requirement in a regent is that they will give it up if the King survives. There’s no chance Aemond would, and they can’t make him!

I did comment on an earlier video that i thought Daemons mum would show up in his dreams but I didnt expect him to be giving her his mini dragon!

Laenor did the same thing that Corlys does... gets in a boat and runs away for a time.

How did Daemon inspire so much loyalty with the gold cloaks and the men in the stepstones?

I'm only at the beginning but if you guys don't bring up the duck vs goose call back during the daemon scene I'll be so mad. I havent seen anyone else bring it up yet! I think its implying daemon has no preference for man or woman as long as they're valyrian. Or maybe targaryen. I do remember talk of daemon being bisexual during season 1 but they chose to leave that out.

They never said anything about rhaena trying to claim a dragon and failing..this was the first mention of it!

I think it's funny that (probably due to the brown hair) everyone keeps forgetting that Jace and Luke and Joffrey are just as Targaryen as Allicent's 4 kids with Viserys...from a blood of the dragon perspective. Jace mentioning not needing full Valyian blood applies to him AND Aemond the same...

Daemon has NEVER sought to kill his kin. Aemond has killed 2 and maimed 1... he is definitely the more problematic of any other character. Including Daemon.

Aemound hasn’t killed anyone in hand to hand combat because he never gets off that dragon’s back. Once he is at war he stays on the back of that dragon. Once there is conflict he is on the back of his dragon. I guess that’s where he feels safe and powerful. With all the comparing to daemon people do where he is concerned at least daemon is in hand to hand combat in westoros and across the narrow sea, and he chases notorious pirates into caves to engage in hand to hand combat. Not this guy aemound. You can’t get him off vhaegar

Surely someone will figure that dragonfire hot enough to melt Valyrian steel could only have come from Vhagar.

Aegon, Aemond, Daemon 'Mummy'

I've been feeling Daemon more as a Loki analogue, he's a trickster who's primary motivation is having his closest living relative love and respect and listen to him (10 year and not once did you ask me to be hand). I'm not saying Daemon is a good guy, he clearly has used unsavory (to say the least) ways to get his ends but I dont think Daemon ever actually wanted the throne, and I think this might be where the whole Haranhall storyline is leading when he finally hopefully confronts Vizzy. He's like the dog trrying to catch the car, he wants to catch it, he has no idea of what he want's after that. Aemond's regret for Luke I felt was real but I feel at that moment he realized and accepted that no matter what he was intending to do this has just happened and now he might as well embrace it. Just like if Viz was actually ever brotherly to Daemon, if Aegon wasnt *such* a douche and just grew up a little I dont think Aemond makes an actual move, that's the big difference and why I think Aemond is more cold and calculating than Daemon's brashness, Daemon would NEVER had attacked Vizzy, even if he said he was 'better suited for the crown'

Last season, Daemon and Viserys had a whole conversation about who their mother liked more, now he doesn't know his mother. This lacks consistency.

Daemon really is pathetic. Viserys was right not to trust him, and Otto was right that he cannot be put on the throne at any cost.

Show-wise, that is the dragon that was responsible for the death of many small folk, attending the coronation. Kinda feel it was a mistake for the show to do that. But since they *did* do it, kind of odd none of the Greens touted that point to the K.L. citizens

I could see the small folk loving the Queen that never was a symbol of humble obedience for the realm. They could relate to being passed over. Also her husband is influential in there lives. These the bread maker.

Who is Joffrey’s betrothed?

The Daemon dream scene was weird and uncomfortable. I don't see any reason it was needed. Seemes like they put it in for pure shock value, very lame.

A bit of feedback.... you guys snap, cut off, and condescend Sean quite a bit even when he's making good points. The tension is pretty bothersome even though I really like listening to you guys since you're so knowledgeable. I dunno just something to please work on 😢
