@@solar75wind I think you're wrong and HOTD is better than GOT. First seasons of GOT were great story wise, but had visible lack of budget. Later seasons had budget but lack of story, where HOTD has best of borth worlds. Good story and budget :)

@@ZicoDuco I agree that GOT seasons 7 and 8 were rather shallow and disappointing but they still had plenty of inertia from the previous seasons. Seasons 2-6 of GOT are some of the very best TV of all time. HOTD is totally forgettable and formulaic - watching them is just like reading a list of historical facts. HOTD simply contains zero wisdom and zero substance in terms of heart, wit, poetry, and humor. I was hoping that by season 2 the team would have learned from the biggest flaws of this show and they totally didn't... Ryan Condal is a zero and a huge mistake by GRRM to pick him to be the showrunner. That's why Miguel Sapochnik left - he couldn't stand this butchery of the beloved GOT universe. So it is totally clear by now that it was D&D who made GOT great and not really GRRM, contrary to the popular belief. GRRM is just a narrow-minded nerd with a huge stamina to follow the wonderful GOT with the drab, unimaginative, totally predictable, and wasteful HOTD. Just his last money grab, made possible by D&D.

And im sure he would have kept the castle a targaryen casle, and not what allison made it to be while he was sick. The Greens would not have had the power to take the throne without Otto having the power as hand of the King, so no matter what, Daemon would have been the better Pick if you ask me + his love for Rhaenyra on top of the love for his brother/king would have kept him in check to.

@master-of-many-fandoms2020 the city watch could easily turn, you'll understand why in season 2. Even Ned stark got hurt when the city watch betrayed him. The city watch is a dangerous weapon Daemon could use. Also he never vied for it because he thought he always had it.

@PyroPeter87 he loved his wife to, what happened to that? Daemon only loves Daemon, he can't be trusted, you'll see as the show goes on. Peace has a big price, but it's worth it to have peace. Otto kept the city at peace. He loved the throne, that is it. He loved the power and the prestige of it all. That's why he took his own crown and returned to rub it in his brother face, because he thinks being king is a game. No one could keep the mad king in check.

Thank you for remind us how Rhaenyra is clear protagonist for the first half of the season because she's played by a cis actress, but once we get past that, it's not just about her anymore. "Team Black vs. Team Green", more like let's not put the nonbinary actor at the center and pretend this was always about Rhaenyra and Alicent. Once again, GIVE YOUR LEAD THEIR PLACE.

I did feel like the narrative definitely revolved around alicent more towards the end of s1. But I don't think it has anything to do with Emma being non-binary. It's just the storyline being pushed by alicents actions more so than rhaenyras and Olivia was more well known before the show aired

@@Luna_Sutton The story as a whole revolves entirely around Rhaenyra and her claim to the throne, Alicent's actions throughout the second half included. The season starts and ends on Rhaenyra, it literally ends with her losing her child and reacting to it. The fact that we see a lot of Alicent doesn't change any of that. Important characters that are supporting exist. And Olivia being more famous before doesn't change the narrative either. This is Rhaenyra's story, the story about her becoming the heir and of her family self-destroying because of the inability to accept this and let her rule. The show starts with Emma as Rhaenyra narrating it ffs. What more do people need to understand it?

And this is exactly why I complain, promotion does distort people's perception of the story because they just can't acknowledge their lead actor/main character. It's 100x upsetting when you remember how this girl who was also pretty much unknown before did get lead actress treatment and a whole season cover entirely for her. I'm sorry but it is transphobic bs, no one will ever change my mind about this.
