House Of The Dragon Season 2 has finally arrived and the first episode ends with a pretty shocking moment to setup the rest of the season. What did you think of the episode and does it excite you for what's in store?
Honestly I was surprised that the blood and cheese incident happened in this episode. I thought they were gonna at least wait for episode 2. They just went right into it!
1:55 tiny, tiny correction nitpick: Aegon is Viserys's son (with Alicent) and Rhaenera's half-brother, not Viserys's grandson. (East mistake to make; it gets confusing when there is about 14-15 years age difference between them and Viserys's other children are closer to Rhaenyra's children in age 😂)
Rhaeneyra’s mistakes are coming back to haunt her. Otto didn’t want Criston “Friend zone” Cole as Kingsguard. She did, then slept with him, and moved on. She has an affair and gives birth to kids with Break Bones 🦴 Strong, who look nothing like Targaryens who prefer to keep blood line pure. She gift wrapped the realm to the Hightowers who look at the Targaryens as “occupiers” of their lands.
Rhaenyra NEVER said she wanted the head of Aemond… she just said she wanted him. If that were me, I’d do what I could to capture him alive and bring him to her, so she could decide how to handle it.
It's understandable why they made that change. It is a more realistic way to write it. First of all, they portray Daymon as a antihero. If he had ordered the murder of the children directly, it would have been uncharacteristic of him. The idea is that no one is really evil on both sides. Also, if you included the more pressure of the situation it would have felt off to add more dialog for that scene.
