I can’t help but feel bad for Aegon. Alicent was so annoying when she roasted Aegon. She acts like she and everyone gave him a huge favor when Aegon didn’t even want it. They all used Aegon for their own goals and they’re all mad at him because he doesn’t play like the puppet they want him to be.
He's a great grey character. He never wanted to be there and even tried to run away before becoming king. Then the people seeming to like him gave him some hope that maybe it's not all bad. Then it gets personal with the death of his son and he really puts his mind to it - only to have everyone around him ignore him more aggressively. He's not *evil* like Joffrey in GOT. He wants to be decent, but he's just so dumb that he ends up causing a lot of damage.
I don’t feel badly for Aegon bc he had all of the same resources as his brother. Aemond had zero reason to ever believe that he would be king. Off the strength of being a prince and a Targaryen, he studied his history, heritage, and trained for warfare. He takes himself seriously. Meanwhile, Aegon, who is NOT the rightful heir but knew shit was fishy with his sister’s claim, squandered his resources and youth. He’s a rapist and a child-fighting mutilator. Even AFTER usurping the throne, as his mama said, he took zero interest in learning how to be king. He just wanted to PLAY “King.” And was happy-go-lucky doing it bc it fed his ego. But shit got real and he’s back to being the psychotic monster he is. I get it, he didn’t want to be king at first. But he was a rotten human before that. And AFTER he decided it might be fun to be king, he’s STILL lazy trash about it. So I’m glad he’s smoked meat and hope the rest of his life is painful.
rhaeneys attacked in the hopes of injuring vagar in hopes another black dragon can finish her off. (Meleys is one of the oldest and strongest dragons) or kill her or maybe kill aemond so vhagar would be riderless and out of the picture, she is more experienced at the end of the day Meleys was too injured to have made it very far & Rhaenys would have never abandoned Meleys even for the sake of her own safety. That last look they gave before turning back to fight Vhaegar again was a mutual acknowledgement they were going down together. Makes that whole moment that much more heartbreaking. Also abandoning their Ally wouldn't leave a good message about rhaneyras claim
I saw it as Rhaenys knowing how to beat Vhagar despite it being an uphill battle. She DID beat Vhagar. Aemond knew the 2nd bout was gonna go the way the first bout did so he waited to catch her on the way home. She thought Vhagar had retreated from battle after Aemond hit the ground. She was going back home when Aemond Ambushed her.
It's kinda obvious why Alicent is not good at "mothering" because she was pretty much pimped out by her father. Which also makes sense why Aemond and Aegon are ready to either attack of humiliate each other because it's just how that side of the family functions. As opposed to Rhaenyra who was loved by her parents

I wanted Rhaenys to leave too but she couldnt 😭 She went there to defend the staunton’s/rooks rest and if she leaves she’s basically just abandoning their loyal house to be slaughtered by Aemond/Vhagar. That’s telling anyone who’s loyal to the Blacks that they will not fight with them/help them/defend them and will just let them be destroyed by the Green’s dragons - so why would anyone want to support rhaenyra after that 😂 She can’t just abandon the fight and she knows that and she accepts that so I think her goal was to obviously try to beat Aemond/Vhagar or at least wound them enough to weaken Vhagar somewhat for the next Black dragon that has to fight them (maybe her granddaughter Baela, Jace, etc), she’s trying to go out protecting them as much as she can. Rhaenys isn’t a coward she knows that she went there to fight and she accepted her fate like a true queen - though I wish she didn’t have to 😭😭
No one at the table understood High Valyrian besides Aemond and Aegon, even if Aegon couldn't speak it very well. Most members of Houses Targaryen and Velaryon spoke it, but it was uncommon for members of other houses to understand it, let alone speak it. The only exception in the show so far (that I can recall) was Maester Gerardys, the Dragonstone maester.

People were upset that the velaryons were black because they married into house Targaryen many times, so if they were black the targaryens should be black too. It even annoyed me a little and I’m black, because the story is all about bloodlines and who is and isn’t legitimate.
Alicent didn't decide to start the war. And it was happening no matter what she thought Viserys said. The council had already laid the plans long before that. The only thing it changed was her support of it.
Did you to ladies notice that Rhaenys won the fight and thought that Vhagar had retreated from the battlefield? Aegon got her as she was on her way back home. Fight was over...she thought.
Episode 3 was a good episode. You can see the role of Hand is affecting the relationship of Alicent and Criston Cole. As they, along with everyone in Green's, come up with a plan to take out the Black's. Where Alicent wants to do things in a peaceful way where Aegon and others want war. You can see the insecurity in Aegon as he's trying to prove to himself that he's not a weak king but a fraud as he wants to go into battle. As you can see, Larys Strong again in his ear, causing more problems from within the Greens. The BJ scene in the brothel caught me off guard. I was surprised that Aemond didn't punch him. You can see from the Blacks that the council doesn't have faith in Rhaenyra. I like that Rhaenys sees the bigger picture trying to get Rhaenyra that talking with Alicent would probably be the best way to end the war as well avoid bloodshed. You see Rhaenyra have her kids removed to because they're not safe and to avoid another assassination attempt. Daemon goes to Harrenhal to get an army as only for the castle to be in the worst of shape. Daemon hallucinate as the death of Jaehaery gets to him as we get a cameo of young Rhaenyra. As we seeing Daemon expresses regret as his past is coming back in, not a good way. Rhaenyra finally meets Alicent as she tells her that the Aegon that her father is talking about is Aegon the Conquor. Even tho both want peace. Alicent realized it out of her hands. Rhaenyra realized that she had no choice but to go to war. Episode 4 was also a great episode with so much going on. Daemon is constantly hallucinating seeing those of the past that haunts him as he's trying to gather soldiers from Harrenhal. Alicent still processing with what happened with her reunion with Rhaenyra as well did Viserys choose Aegon as heir to the stone. Is asking the Maester for some tea in which she takes in which appears she's pregnant by the way she touch her stomach. In which I feel Larys Strong knows during their conversation. Aegon is not liking that he's not being respected. As Aemond and Cole makes decisions behind his back. You can see the tension between Aegon and Aemond as Aemond want to get back at Aegon for embarrassing him at the brothel. As well Alicent showing her disappointment in him with Aegon killing the Ratcatchers and removing his father as Hand. In which pushes Aegon to take part in the battlefield. Cole who took down Duskendale, Rosby and Darkyln. Forcing some men of Darkyln to side with the Greens as Cole killed Lord Darkyln. With his hand arriving at Dragonstone in which forces Rhaenys to go into the battle knowing that Rhaenyra is important to the throne as she's expandable. The battle with Dragons so well done. Damn Aemond really tried to take Aegon out along with Rhaenys lol. RIP to Rhaenys who died on the battlefield. I'm looking forward episode 5. But anyway I hope you have a wonderful day. Aegon was going to be king regardless of what Alicent wanted/said or what Viserys wanted/said. The council was just waiting for Viserys to die so they can do what they wanted like it was discussed in ep 10 of the last season.

Um, nobody cares about what Viserys said on his death bed. The Green Councel was already planning to put Aegon on the throne. Otto told Allicent back in episode one that they want a male heir. They didn't even believe her anyway. He told her war would ensue. Nobody is going to war on her behalf.

It is more accurate to medieval Europe and Mediterranean as Rome had many ethnicity and Spain was taken over by North African Burba, Moors who were both African and Arab. In the medieval time they were kidnapping people and selling them abroad. England paid them to not attack them but its well documented. History was extremely white washed unfortunately that ignorance creates a false view of the past tho this is fantasy i have issue with people who have issues with s fantasy with accurate ethnic representation snd considers the audience. When they have no issue with Germanic west celts playing early Romans or scottish playing Egyptian.. i value historical accuracy but like you said its a fantacy and it workd very well in my opinion
Many people like to misinterpret why fans are upset because of black people in the show and simply attribute it to racism, which couldn't be farther from the truth.. while it is ‘fantasy’ as you say, it has a determined lore written by the Autor (George R.R. Martin) and this lore describes House Valyrian clear as white.. in the books you can barely distinguish them from Targaryen.. also the entire lore is kind of inspired by European dark age and there were not many black people in the first place.. I get the wish to see your own people in those roles tho and I don't think it took anything from the show since they hired talented actors to do the job. But to attribute every fan critic to racism will bring us nowhere.. it's the same with Rings of Power, fans wants to see the lore they grew up with and there are simply no black elves or a sword swinging Galadriel.. this is the kind of ‘nonsense’ that made the fans mad and made Amazon lose billions.. all in the name of ‘diversity’..

Both are bad but one is actually likeable, thats the difference.

42:55 They really only got Rhaenyra, Rhaenys, and Daemon. Jace and Baela’s dragons are too young to go to war. Their scales haven’t hardened enough with age so that they’re pretty much impervious to arrows, bolts, and if it comes down to it, Dragonflame. They’re really only good for scouting or ambush attacks. And because they don’t want to send Rhaenyra to war(It makes sense, but it’s weird in the ASOIAF universe. Kings/Queen Regnants and Lords are expected to go to war), and Daemon in the Riverlands, they really only had Rhaenys.
