“A son for a son” bit was weird cuz it just seems like everyone sorta forgot about blood and cheese, like the life of a little kid doesn’t even matter- that was truly strange

I don't feel it's fair to say people's reactions are regurgitated negativity. My literal reaction upon credits was "you're ending it like that?!" Great stand alone episode, sure, but where is the pull to wait 1 to 2 years with anticipation? Doesn’t have to be a battle but something stronger. I just finished 2nd season of another series based on books that is so well done I'm out of my mind over it. I'll continue my fandom of GRRM shows but I'm allowed to be underwhelmed with the handling of the show runners without it being because other people were being trolls online... aside, I do hope you feel better soon, dude.

I think a lot of people missed the Children of the Forest glimpse we got at the tree. Look very book-accurate children of the forest as well.

I liked the episode. I know im in the minority lol. It had visions, prophecy, tension and some laughter. Yes i know, no battles, but look what's come. I like delving into the relationships and as a book reader, knowing how bloody and consequence filled its going to be. Enjoy the ride.

While I do somewhat agree with you. I do think when this show is over season 2 will probably be extremely popular with binge watchers. because I do think the set up for future parts of the story is really good. But I do agree it feels like reading a book and not being satisfied but when the next one comes out it’ll probably be so much more interesting and enjoyable

And give us HUGE gaps between seasons, then barely over half a season's worth of episodes that were full of endless repetition and tedious FILLER, it's not enough to keep me invested.

Aegon needs to be team greens main character in s3. Aegon from the perspective rn has the opportunity to be one of the best character arcs of all time in game of thrones history.

Are we all going to ignore the utter character assassination of Alicent? They made her pathetic and it’s a shame cause her actress is awesome. Also, why didn’t the episode end with at least the beginning of the Fall of KL? There didn’t need to be any battle at all. LASTLY, WHERE IS SUNFYRE?

Of course you ytbois done get the outrage from nettles getting cut. But for black folks, making the valeryons black does not excuse Ryan Condal from cutting the one black character black folks and looked forward to seeing for YEARS. It's still a letdown.

I loved this season! Haven't read the corresponding books yet but everything that season touched on was amazing. My wife and I rewatched season 1 just before season 2 started and I confess that I find it slightly better. And it's not a question of what's going on storywise, nor is it related to the actors who were amazing,; I think it has to do with the direction or the edit, I don't know, there was something in season 1 that made every moment packed with dramatic tension that is less present here, even during scenes with great dialogues/drama, it felt just a bit less impactful than in season 1 and made some scenes feel "slow". Overall, though, had a blast and can't wait for season 3. I'll miss those review moments in the mean time.

I think you guys are right that this episode (I'd go as far as to say this season) will be looked upon way better years from now. It set up everything really well. The final two shots were extraordinary: Rhaenyra underneath the weight of scrolls and history, contrasted directly with Alicent under an open sky, free of her perceived burden.

This was just treading water. Ive enjoyed the season but this was just a fluff episode. It is becoming a hallmark of the whole franchise. George can't finish the books, D&D couldn't finish GOT properly and now even individual seasons endings of HOTD are as enjoyable as a wet fart.

This episode was terrible, not just because of its divergence from the book but because it breaks the rules and consequences and conventions that are show only.

35:49 omg so if Aegon's dragon is still alive and he's exiled himself, its possible that he reunites with his dragon later on and comes back for another fight back on... On the other hand i feel like if the show's writers rewrote that to fit their needs that'd be unfortunate.

Loved the finale. The last 5-10 minutes with the score, and seeing all the different parties assembling made the slow build of the season worth it. -Army in the river lands -Lannister army -Hightower army with Tessarion and Daeron -Winter wolves coming south -Triarchy sailing to Westeros -Aegon fleeing with Larys -Team Black assembled and ready to go -Small folk brewing in kings landing -Aemond losing control by the minute Season 3 is gonna be so good

I'm not happy with this season at all. Most episodes were great but I just feel blue balled, like what even happened, the whole season was just set up and thats terrible for live audience. I can only assume budget was a major issue because that's the only reason I can think of bumping and skipping large battles. I don't think large battles are needed for entertainment but there just needed to be some sort of pay off to advance the story and we got nothing and now we're just in limbo like we paused a game before the boss fight. This episode should've been episode 8 of 10 and we'd all be super excited and happy.

Condal already said at Comicon last week that ep 7 (Red Sowing) was the second big sequence of this season. So we already we know there was not going to be a big battle or big sequence.

13:50 They kept the claiming of Sheepstealer open. Rhaena could try and claim it and fail, getting seriously wounded, but then be saved and brought into Jeyne Arryns care. Jeyne Arryn could start a sexual relationship with Rhaena (because wokeness). Nettles (who witnessed the failed attempt) could claim Sheepstealer (having learned from what she saw).

The hate I'm seeing is people claiming the show has horrible writing. We all know the real reason why people are hating on it. The outrage machine is fully operational. lol. The people who complain about not having a battle are still rational in their disappointment and generally positive overall. I have a couple of nick picks but I still love it overall. We should have had 10 episodes with a couple of the battle scenes shown that we glossed over is my biggest complaint.

6:42 Ryan Condal confirmed they aren't even going to begin filming until 2025. And he also implied that they may be keeping the 8 episode season format. Season 3 probably isn't going to come out until May 2026.

This season was just a giant filler. Two, maybe three, episodes were good. The rest were just repetitions of the same lines, over and over again. Very boring dialogue, no clear main character(s), and zero-to-minimal plot progression. As a whole, this season is about a 1.5/5.

Sorry but I think they ruined Alicent and Daemons character especially Daemon when we went through that final vision I cringed the whole time the episode just didn’t hit like the last one maybe in the future it will be better but idk
