At 12, the perfect selection selection to pour your heart into a heartfelt soulful warning that's nearly 60 years old. Thanks Sean for sharing another great performance from Fionn! 💚❤☘
Well done Ffion this pure class a fantastic rendition of a classic.. great vocals great guitar work. be proud mate that was brilliant .. have a great week folks ❤👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
So there we have it. A 12 year old with 35 years worth of experience. I just don't know what's happening here! Being able to make this ancient tune your own like this, at that age, it just baffles me. Fionn, a singing goldmine, already! I will be keeping a close eye on you in the years to come!
It's the perfect lament for a 12 year old warning other mothers to protect their young sons to choose another path than the one he is on. Excellent performance 💚❤☘
I kind of cringed when I saw that the very young Fionn was going to tackle this ancient ballad ... But he did a surprisingly good job with it. Well done Fionn! 👍 👏 👏
@@dublincitytoday That for example, the add blocker has stopped at 0.02 seconds. I have a Turkish version, photoshoped to where ever, share music and tunes, should be free to folk who may or may not encourage you. Adverts for utter crap, does anyone see them?
You would think that this song, which is over 50 years old, has been played so many times that it doesn't allow for a new interpretation, but Fionn manages to do just that...wonderful.
This song may be 150 years old! But definately older than 50 years. It is an adaption of an old slave song from the slave days in america. Like so many old tunes sung in juke joints and front porches hundreds of years ago, it was adopted in the 60s by british bands who where importing blues and spiritual records from those in the know in america, and doing rock and pop versions of them. One great english band who built their fame on rewritten blues classics is Led Zepplin. Thank god for those progressive young bands, like the Animals, Cream, the Yardbirds, etc. Who gave birth to the british rock explosion. But Fionns version is more like the traditional song which I love so much.
@@Wobbz9413 Thank you Mark, I was a little off the mark with my 50 years. You're right, Fionn's version is rather simple and traditional, also my favourite.
First song I ever learned on guitar many years ago. Still love the song to this day, but you do it better than I ever could young man. Thanks for the memory. Cheers Sean. Peace and love.
New Orleans is quite a few miles from Dublin sea gulls plague both with laughter n poo weather has truly played havoc with survival music although lives on deep within. God blesses us remedies this word's gloomys through music
I have said it before elsewhere that he reminds me of Eric Burdon. In time, like Eric he can become an iconic figure with an iconic voice, It's 60 year ago since the Animals were in their hey day. Their music still echo's through the decades as vibrant has ever. That's what Fion needs to aim for, to ring that living bell. Good luck!!!
Fionn is a sensation: His way of dealing with the heritage of international pop/rock is simply wonderful! I hope we will see and hear more from you, young man!
It struck me that he might listen to Leadbelly. There is a goldmine of songs there and he would learn to use his voice in different ways from a master.
During my tour in Vietnam, this was one of my favorite songs. Add We Gotta Get Out of This Place by Animas . Music was what kept me together. I can believe it is same today. Thanks for USO.
Fionn, I love you young laddie ....you sing wonderful...and play guitar super. I am your fan my dear! Keep rockin' it, that was one of my faves. Except when you sang with Allie, that beautiful song about the angel mom. I sent it to my sis Nov 1, would have been my moms bday. Sis loved it too! Thank you dear one. 🙋♀️💙✝️🇺🇸🇮🇱
