EXACTLY! This is a big mistake couples make before marriage. NEVER buy a house with someone you’re not married to! Since 2014 ive heard of hundreds of couples on the Dave Ramsey show breaking up and it gets messy. Definitely not wishing that on yall tho 🙏🏾

When you buy a home with some who is not your spouse it’s not different if you were to buy with someone who was just a friend of yours for example. Every state is different and they live in the state of Texas and they don’t recognize that here if something were to go left

This couple may even have consulted a real estate attorney before making the decision to purchase and if so, they would have been advised on ways to protect their property interests in the event that something goes left. Purchasing in a trust or LLC is one option. The original commenter advising never to live with your partner without a ring should be taken with a grain of salt. Individuals should do what fits their own particular situation.
