It’s not just dander, dogs have oils in their skin that rubs off on everything they lay on or walk against. So regular washing and brushing would help.
@bina nocht you can’t keep carpets clean. No one just owns a carpet cleaner and uses it on a weekly basis. If you’re okay with a carpet you’re okay with your floors being disgusting.
The other day I washed my hands at a smoker's house and dried my hands with a paper towel. I smelled the paper towel after washing my hands because I just like the smell of wet paper towels that were used to dry hands. Lol. They smell kind of like dish soap and cleanliness. So I stuck the paper towel in my pocket and later when I got home I smelled the paper towel again and it REEKED of cigarette smoke. I couldn't smell the smoke on the paper towel while at their house for some reason but once I was out of it, the smell was as clear as day on the paper towel. So weird.
I actually don't notice until I come back from working all day. I nearly gag every night when I get home. I am tired of it and it is time to deep clean!!!
If you own your house and can afford it.... rip out the carpet and place tile or hard surface. Carpet is nasty. It's like walking on a blanket and not being able to REALLY clean it.
I thought I was the only one who washed my walls!!! I wash my ceilings once or twice a year with bleach as well. Makes a HUGE difference. Nice fresh clean smell after!
@@Scribbbbb dander is dead skin, so yes. If people are allergic to dander, it doesn't matter if a dog is 'hypoallergenic' or not -they'll still be allergic to it.
@@LJ-ne1bd this is true, but with a poodle there is no shedding, so there is less "debris" as in hair. Visibly less dirty but there will still be dander.
I literally take those fan vent covers off, take them outside and hose them off. Super quick, super easy. The hardest part is getting a ladder to take them off the cieling.
When my boyfriend moved in with me he brought a beagle. Instantly everything began to stink! Our clothes, the couch, blankets and pillows, the vacuum. It didnt help to wash the textiles and the vacuum bag had to be changed every day basically or it just made the stench worse. I hade lived with dogs before but nothing prepared me for that. Basically dont get a beagle because apart from the stench they are also destructive, loud, clingy and needy as hell and leavs needles of hair in any kind of fabric u own. Also the can never be off leash.
Well I also want to say this. Many individuals get those carpet cleaners. Yeah I used to be one of those until I actually learned about steam. Wow. Game changer. And I mean a proper professional steamer. Night and day. An accident becomes no more. I am completely and utterly shocked. Of course using the sucking machine and doing your little thing is going to help But it's not going to completely clean it. Individuals with cats and dogs, and you are using just a carpet cleaner. Change your game. Get a professional steamer. You can have a professional steamer for the cost of you doing your home. You don't want to do it. Buy it have it and then have whoever cleaned your home use it. You'll never have a kitty or doggy bad smell again.. There is an area, we replaced the carpet. Immediately the dogs went to the same area. I'm so grateful for a fella that spent 3 hours working on my living room. And taught me, about steam. Oh my gosh. I bought the same steaming set he had. They now don't even pay mind to that area. It's like it was never there. Yes I gave him a call, and let him know. He was magic man. He changed my life in the game of cleaning carpets.. as well his steam machine can be used in vehicles. This is the type of machine that throws out hot steam not wet steam. Huge difference. If you have wooden floors very important. And or want to detail your car, the type of detail that is worth $500 for an hour of cleaning. You want grease and gunk to go bye-bye. If you have a very big mess to clean. Absolutely, use both. Carpet cleaner and, steamer. Night and day just night and day.

And if you do use it in your vehicle you're not going to have the stress of ruining your vehicle. Never use steam around the speedometer Never mess with that area. But everywhere else you can clean.. If you're running them over carpet.. using it on couches. Tile stone mirror whatever. It's awesome.
It took me over a year to get rid of the smell of toddlers when I bought my house. Every day coming home from work, open the door, and bam! old milk, urine, and cheerios. 🤢
moving into a house that had a dog in it previously was horrid. the cleaners did a okay job but to me the smell has never ever gone away and I clean quite often specifically to get the smell out. very happy I have cats. probably would never go back to having dogs tbh
If you don't have a carpet cleaner, you can always sprinkle baking soda on the carpets depending on smell leave it for a few days then vacuum as normal. I moved into a house that wreaked of dog but lucky for me I had a carpet cleaner.
I don't have dogs now. But any I've had have always been swimmers just had to be careful of stonefish and jellyfish. My jack russell used to love coming SUPing with me.
I can remember moving into a housing corp, house here in Christchurch NZ, when I was pregnant with my first son!! I had to vacuum every wall in the house completely, because of the layer of dust or maybe mould, not something I want to do in your 8/9th month
Went to see a house on the market last year, one level cottage…owners has the ac in the window blasting but as we walked by it outside I just smelled dog. We go inside and the whole house smells like dog. There was noo way we, or anybody, would have wanted that house. It was on the market for a while even tho it was an affordable price. Yuck 🤢
Easy don't own a dog in an apartment. Dogs are animals and are meant for backyards and natural life. Putting them inside is like raising a cow inside your house. You can have pet, but it doesn't mean that the pet's nature is suitable to live your life indoors.
Ok. This is true, ..HOWEVER ...the portion about Bathing and Brushing your pets is of HIGH importance. .... She missed that. (??) I am a former Professional Housekeeper. I also recommend DILUTED Odoban , it's non toxic and you can Clean with this Product. I also use it as a spray ( undiluted) ,on furniture, rugs, pillows, etc. It actually kills the bacteria, unlike that Febreeze crap . Exhaust fans and Air filter returns need to be removed, soaked, scrubbed and then Air dried, before putting them back.
I moved into an apartment that had carpet only on the stairs. I tried everything to remove the smell of dog from those stairs. Carpet powders and vacuuming, having them professionally cleaned twice, and finally breaking down and purchasing a little green clean machine specifically for pets, and after 3 years the smell finally faded, nothing worked. And we didn’t have pets
I have to stay so diligent about this. My husband has severe dust mite, cat, and dog allergies. Unfortunately, we're also both animal lover and have both a dog and a cat.
First of all, clean; then don’t have a dog in your house if you don’t want the house to smell like it. Also, there are dogs that smell less or don’t smell at all.
I would not have my dogs in my house if i had carpet, my sister has a nose on her like a hound dog and she can not smell dog in my house, because believe me she is not shy in telling me anything lol
I have a pug and Boston terrier...about to add a third dog. No carpets, run Roomba once a day, I bathe the dogs frequently, wash their toys, don't allow them in my bed, have leather couch, air purifier, etc. No bad smells.

I got a better way...no animals in the house. ..it's not only dander. Its dog poop n pee cus when they go they cant clean them selfs n it gets rubbed all over furniture n everywhere
Advice for man- dander? 😅 I do all that and use antibacterial fabric spray on couch covers that don't come off but my husband skins up the whole house with his feet
I didn't think about cleaning th walls. My dog is currently shedding her winter coat and the amount of fur I am traipsing through is getting ridiculous.
