Welcome back to beautiful Natchez Mississippi! Many of us dream of restoring a beautiful Victorian home or Victorian Mansion, but not all of us want to put the blood, sweat, tears and money into a historic home. Here is your chance to live the dream for as long as you want, in this gloriously restored Victorian mansion.
This home has been meticulously restored and is now an AirBNB. Built in 1907 this home was one of the multitude of beautiful homes built by Natchez's once thriving Jewish community. The Jewish community has played a vital and instumental role in Natchez for many generations. Linton Avenue was the center of Jewish life and culture.
In the 1960's this amazing structure was the scene of an act of domestic terror, but the intrepid owner did not let the event change his mission.
This home is filled with all the treasures you'd expect in a work of architecural art; stunning woodwork, stained glass, amazing tile. Take a peek inside on this guided tour with us, and then book your time away from reality in this dream home!

I have no words.... The architecture is breathtakingly beautiful. It's really sad the wood carving is becoming a lost art.

At first, I thought it was for sale. Could not find the price, and then found just the price of the stay as an air B&B. It is gorgeous! Such fantastic architectural design and a lovely area, as well, so it seems. It would be lovely to spend some time living in such a well-kept mansion! Thank you!

I want to share a picture of the house we moved into when i was in high school, 1967. The house was built in 1907 and my parents rented it for 10 years the bought it. My mother sold it in 2002. I recognized much of the architectural features. Our house was much smaller.

Love the house but hate that modern toilet in the bathroom. My 1912 home in Michigan had a modern toilet but the rest of the bathroom was original. I found a nice toilet being discarded from a 1913 home nearby. I installed it with bright polished brass pipe between the tank and bowl and new period style hardware. It looked like a million dollars. Those old toilets are noisier but you can flush a Buick down one without clogging it!

How beautiful. I love the fretwork (in UK more common in Edwardians, but I know you don’t have that classification in US) and the stain glass window is amazing. However I love all those tiny details like the numbers on the windows just as much, if not more - they just make me smile). Thanks for walking us through another amazing property. I really appreciate how you explain how item/rooms etc would have been used, as a brit who only gets about a few weeks (if we’re lucky) of hot weather I forget how much those large windows and transems would have been appreciated. Every house you show makes me want to move to the states. Thanks again.

Beautiful woodwork on this one! Tiger Oak!!! It's interesting that the large formal parlor was separated from the entryway only by columns, rather than enclosed with pocket doors. I'm curious about the original builder of the home, especially when I see mantels that are identical to those in Pearl. With the narrow lot and small house between to larger homes, I wonder if Pearl was meant to be a "Mother-in-Law" home, or perhaps a spec house to take advantage of unused land between the two mansions. Many lovely details, yet they are more streamlined than Victorians from earlier periods. Classy, regardless! Glad you can rest your heads with convenience and comfort (and a short commute, LOL), after hours of hard work.

gorgeous home! out of curiosity, why are double front doors needed (or more common) in the north?

The inclement winter weather! They need a place to enter, remove snow gear and shake of the snow as well as shutting the cold out of the main part of them home before entering

@@Emily-qo1gw I only learned this after I moved to Ohio 2002-06. All the restaurants and stores have the double sets of doors with space inbetween to trap cold air and snow and prevent it from coming inside when people enter and take off the snow and extra clothing and shoes.

As I explain right in the first 2 minutes of this video: the American architectural period that we call “Victorian” extends until 1910, and some scholars think up until 1923. We have no American “Edwardian” period in the scholarly discussion of architecture
