Loved Katie's home tour and the ending note of creating a home your children want to come back too, that is what it is all about, thank you for reminding us what is meaningful Katie.
While my home is nowhere near as beautiful or well-decorated as Katie's, it's special to us and to our grown children, who helped us build it 30 years ago. Recently we discussed selling it to move closer to out pre-teen grandchildren and their (grandchildren's) unanimous response was "No, you can't sell this house!" "But don't you want to be able to see us more often?" we asked them. "Yes, of course" the 11 year old said, "but we love to come and visit here. It would be so sad to not visit this house any longer, it's like it's part of you and PaPa. If only you could pick it up and move it, with the gardens and the chicken house and the creek, that would be perfect". Aah, if only...
I love when the Homeworthy designers give us tips and tricks for home design and decor. Even things such as paint colors they used or advice on how to they go about designing a space. They are not entitled to do so, but when they do, such as this lovely lady did, its amazingly thoughtful and such a treat. Thank you! BEAUTIFUL HOME.
Your dinning room fixture is beautiful and reminds me of a flower. The courtyard is a lovely addition to your space. The stone wall is enchanting. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home. Your colours and space are a perfect match.
Katie, you have a lovely home. My overall impression is you renovated your home in a way that it will be enjoyed for generations to come! For example, the brass window latches are perfection. The sunken stone courtyard is beautiful and reminds me of an english getaway you'd find in the cotswolds.Your choice of art and fabrics is spot on ( an area I truly find inspiration). I really enjoyed your home tour. Thank you for sharing!
Love her style. Very tastefully done and liveable without being fussy. The grounds are lovely as well. Very relaxed, informative and enjoyable presentation.
Wow first comment ! Beautifully done and I LOVE that everything is done without being so perfectly precious but perfectly beautiful and balanced for family and function. I love all the family pictures and the lived in feel. Great job 😊
Loved her home One thing when she was outside showing her orchids the camera didn’t show them just kept the camera on her I would have loved to have seen that display
Please, what paint colours sheen, brand are on walls, ceiling and trim? Really love all the meaningful items and decor in your beautiful home and yard!
The entry hall trim and walls are done in BM white dove with trim in a semi gloss and walls in an eggshell finish. The kitchen is a 50/50 mix of BM white dove & linen white with the trim in white dove / cabinets are white dove as well. Play room is Benjamin moore Province Blue (egg shell) with white dove trim (semi gloss). Our bedroom is Farrow and Ball Light blue with White Dove trim. All trim in the home is White Dove. Thanks for asking!
Me gustó este tour, un hogar bello y cálido. La casa es una gema con ventanas seis sobre nueve, creo que son ya difíciles de hallar en el mercado inmobiliario. Muy hermosa la fachada. Gracias por compartir ❤
I love this house. I wish I lived near Katie so she could help me with my colonial. What colors are in the bedroom.. ? Light blue farrow and ball? And what is the trim color?
The camera person should have backed up and shown the item as she was talking about it rather than just keeping the camera on her the whole time. I found myself constantly saying out loud “ show me what she’s describing!”. It was very frustrating.
That is a constant pet peeve with the way they film things. I find myself turning my head to will the camera to move. But it's locked in place most of the time. Very strange and indeed frustrating. I've stopped watching videos before when the camera person won't move the camera accordingly.
This house? Needs brightening up? It has artwork, gorgeous dining chairs and some of the rooms have non-neutral walls. It is soothing and peaceful, and there is plenty to engage the eye without it being cluttered (apart from the table in the entry way, I'd take that out of the way, but what would I know, my place isn't even 20% as nice as this!😂). If you like bright colours everywhere, you do you, and enjoy, but this house "needs" nothing, especially if the family who live in it are content.
I find it HILARIOUS when frequently Americans state that their house style is English cottage (as in this video) or Tuscan or a Spanish style etc etc. You folks must understand that when you make these statements you are wayyyy off the mark. It's impossibile to create an authentic style in another country. Having said this, your homes are lovely but it's sufficient to say that it's your style. I know what I'm talking about as i am an Italian and i live in Italy ,Spain and grew up in Uk. English cottages never have new things in them. Everything is well worn, lived in and generally " choc a block ". Dont forget rooms tend to be full of old books.Houses have been my passion all my life.
@@phyll67 exactly. Can't stand when foreigners try to correct how we as Americans define our own style. It's like you do you and let us do we. I could see if we were on a British website trying to define English cottage to them, then by all means insert your opinion and correction. but this is American video on an American website, never you mind how we term things.
