We are a large family with 10 kids ranging in age from 22-8. We homeschool live on a few acres in Central Texas. With our family size, we buy a lot of groceries, so expect several once-a-month grocery hauls at the first of every month. On our farm, we raise great pyrenees, a handful of livestock animals and tend to a small garden. It's an adventure, and still new to us. So join us! Sometimes we succeed, and many times we don't.

I bet your kids will look back on this christmas with fond memories of all the fun you had baking in a small space, balancing cookies all over the place , all the closeness you will have , all the fun of finding new traditions which you will carry on when you get back in your main house , but most of all how being together at Christmas celebrating the birth of our Lord truly was a testimony of his love and faithfulness to you all

Good Luck with Everything! I know it's not easy. I loss my daughter's as well. I'm 43 be 44 in February. It's a blessing to be a Mommy. I truly Love it! There's nothing to hard for God. I would try and find a different spot for the coffee bar would really open up the room. Skip the theme room they change/grow so fast...JMO Thanks for sharing the progress with us.

The stages and emotions you go through after losing you home in a fire is a rollercoaster ride. When it happened to us I still do not understand why it hit me so hard seeing the house stripped back to the brick after seeing it in the shocking condition after the fire. ‘After the fire’ and ‘before the fire’ became everyday phrases when talking. When you’ve been talking i’ve been turning to my son saying yep she’s so right - especially when dealing with contents insurance! 🙈 I hope the refit goes well and quickly for you ❤

Through the challenging parts of my life, and I've had many, I have learned that instead of looking at what was lost or was hard to go through, to just stop and count my BLESSINGS. And I have so many many more blessings (large and small) than trials and it helps turn my losses into something that I can get thru without to much sadness.

Definitely demo the coffee bar. You can re configure the kitchen to open it up. Put a big island with storage on both sides

You could remove the top cabinets in the coffee bar. That would give you the open sight lines but retain the function of the coffee bar.

I would say get rid of the built in. You could do some ship lap in master. I like the idea of getting rid of ceiling. Putting in beautiful crown molding will update the look.

I would get rid of built ins. But I love the coffee bar - however having it open would be amazing. You can always mount your tvs directly on the wall. Some hard decisions! I agree you will Have a better feel when the demo is done! Sending you all love and light! The conversation you had about Christmas proves that you guys will have the best of times! ❤🎄

I saw a statement that said it feels like 1430 at like 5 oclock! Lol.Ive heard about magnesium as well.My little grandsons take some.Brian,shush😅.Im a turkey neck now,at 65😂.i was always thin,even when i was pregnant with all 8 of my kids.Then at 60,it all went downhill! Mercy,never thought I'd ever see that,lol.Praying for a great holiday for you all.Hugs from Missouri 😊❤

Many, many years ago, my Mother lost her family home to fire. She has always said, it’s a form of grieving, and life moving forward is full of memories, which she is thankful for. One of her favorite sayings was, there but for the grace of God, goes I. I am happy to see you moving forward.

I dread the "holidays " for the past 21 years. I have lost my husband and my four sons in those21 years. Before that my dad committed suicide. All I have is grief, sorrow and sadness. Not a day passes that I don't cry. I am sad. I have tremendous guilt if i laugh smile or I forget to think about or remember my family. I am alone. I don't mind being by myself. I have learned to accept I have no family. But the tears and sadness swallows me.

Praise the Lord we are all ok. I also know that it is ok to be sad after a trauma. And a house fire definitely is a huge trauma. I am so thankful for all the support we have been given.

I know how it feels about Christmas thing my 3 boys and I are going to be homeless at the end of month couldn't get caught up on my rent and I work 2 jobs still not have anofe money and we won't be doing Christmas just can't afford it. I am sure your house going to.look nice again ones done.

I thought about not doing Christmas this year. I lost my 16 yr old grandson on Oct 7 in a 4 wheeler accident and it seemed just like my heart stopped, but I know I'm gonna have to to try and move on, because I have 5 other grandboys. Please say a prayer for me, because losing my first born grandson has been really hard for me. If you can give me some advice I would forever be grateful. It's been a hard month so far and Tuesday was the worst because it was a month from when it happened. He got killed about 2 1/2 hours after leaving my house.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. I can't imagine losing my child or if I had a grandchild. You're right though, you have 5 other grandson's that need you, and want to create memories with you. I will pray for you.

I'm so very sorry for your loss . I lost my little boy to cancer he was 11 . I like to still put up his stocking .I have a candle with his pic on it and a phrase I made up we light it for the holidays and have it near us when we eat . Again I'm so sorry for your loss I know how hard it is to miss your child .❤

Oh friend. My heart breaks reading your comment. I’m so very sorry for the loss of your grandson. What a tragedy. Just take it a day at a time. Extend grace to yourself this holiday season and don’t try and do too much. I would encourage you to still do family gatherings even though it is painful. Being with the people you love will help. I will be praying for you!

Yes, we will. We would add more to the large island that would replace it. But overall we would loose storage space
