This one feels different and has an actual personality, the guy keeps moving around, plays the banjo, interacts with objects, takes off things in his house, makes the house feel more lived-in than the sterile upperclass homes. Well done Homeworthy!

Homeworthy thank you for showing diversity in your videos. This is such a pleasant stark opposite to the recent video you posted titled " A Midcentury gem with lush gardens". It's fascinating how people can be so different, and how their spaces reflect it. This video was a breath of fresh air. As a painter/designer myself it also reflects how really exceptional people in design often don't make the big bucks but are incredibly grateful for living a creative life and show greatness all the time. Sampson is a brilliant guy and has an amazing sense of humor. He gives a lot of himself to a creative community. He sees the beauty in the ordinary or the discarded.

What a great guy! Kind and passionate about people and life. I found it such a relief that this video wasn't about an interior designer! It felt like 10 minutes before the video had ended, fascinating stories. I wish Sampson and his Laundromat lots of luck and happiness in the future. Great choice Homeworthy! Thankyou.

I really enjoy listening to Sampson speak and weave a whimsical story around his space for us. The framing of his talking head portions (like around 16:50) where he's sitting with the green lamp above his head like a halo says it all. If I were in need of a friend or somebody to talk to, I'd rather walk into Sampson's place than one of the wealthy Modern Living magazine homes we see so much of. This is more than just a home, it's a much-needed "third place" for his community.

I’ll bet this place attracts a few people who are drifting through life - searching for something. People can hang out and have conversations about nothing in particular or pass the time listening to jazz/poetry. 💆🏻‍♂️

I’m am thoroughly impressed with this guy. I have a musician son who tours around the country, including NY, and they rely on other musicians to put the band up overnight, help with whatever is needed for shows etc. Who knows, he may have discovered you. Thank you for sharing your home. Love the tile ceilings which add so much character. Great space in which to live and work. Has a bit of a feel for the late 60s', early 70s style in old warehouse lofts where we'd gather for music and sharing. Wonderful you're sharing your space with artists for listeners to hear and feel the music in every breath they take. And we both have had the absolute joy to met and love Dustin and want to again see him :). Wish Homeworthy had more vids such as this rather than the beautiful, but cookie-cutter homes. Your home and video put me in a happy place. Time to put on some Turrentine and enjoy. Thanks again. Loved this video.

Not at all, just being inclusive, as opposed to your unnattractive paranoia. Perhaps you jump to conclusions because you are judgemental and do not feel comfortable with others expressing their opinion. Everyone who is intetested in homeworthy has creative ideas in one form or another. It's ok.
