I'm also from Wakayama, livingin the US. The place has beautiful shorelines. Someday please introduce their gorgeous ocean side of the prefecture and sacred mountains such as Nachi and Koya.
Unfortunately, owning property in Japan doesn’t guarantee that you’ll get residency. Fingers crossed you’ll find a way to stay there. Wakayama is gorgeous.
You are going to be a serious housekeeper!! There’s so many rules & regulations for such connections! And, that cutting grass JOB!! Salute!! He is watching & supporting over U !! 🐉👀👁🌎🙏🙏❤️💪🏽💪🏽
@@Ryunohara I do landscaping and Roofing, I want to go to Japan with my family but I'm worried there won't be any work for me, as someone who doesn't know the language. Japan has always been a dream.
Aloha, I have been watching your video's for a few months now and really enjoy them. Thank you! My great grandmother is from Mirozu Wakayama and lived in a tiny fishing village. I went there with her when I was 10 years old and am planning to take my adult children there in 2025 along with my sister and mother. I can hardly wait until we get to Japan again and visit a remaining aunty in Mirozu and cousin in Osaka. I remember loving Wakayama the best as a child because of how clear the water was and the limpets I love to eat were plentiful. I ate sooo much I broke out in a rash. 😂 I love to see what you're doing in your little world in Japan. It's so beautiful! Thank you for sharing!
This might be super strange coming from another guy but, you're like the cutest thing I've seen on YT for a while lol. Sorry, couldn't help myself. Happy house hunting adventures!
I've lived in Japan twice, but never seen a urinal in a private house. I visited a house I rural Shikoku once that had a cesspit Japanese style toilet.
Great watching this video .. I want to come to Japan and look for some friends I made while they were in America I lost everything to fire here and numbers were burnt up I speak some Japanese so I hope that will help me in my search .. hiroshi did work at nippon exspress so just maybe he still does … Just maybe he will see this
Great video, I love Japan! Here in the U.S.A we have septic tanks too, we have ours emptied every 3 yrs & inspection, our septic size is based off how many bedrooms you have, I think urinals are a great idea, but honestly we had all boys so they would go outside in the woods pick a tree & pee, I was ok with that, maybe a little jealous 😉 P.S. I subscribed, great channel!
Oh! The septic tanks here have to be inspected by the prefectural government twice a year to ensure the discharge is clean and they have to be emptied once a year.
Washi and Nashi - that’s a Ghibli story in the making. Too cute.☺️ Congratulations to your friends for their purchase! I can’t wait to see the renovation progress. ✌🏻I am a bit flabbergasted to hear about the survey maps. How about the deed of sale, isn’t it mandatory for it to be accompanied by the detailed house and plot plans, as well as their entry in the land registry at the town hall?
Yes there’s a grocer about a 15 minute drive away and large supermarkets in Tanabe City, a 80-minute drive away. The nearest shopping centre is also in Tanabe City.
Stumbled upon your channel as I follow other kominka videos cos I have similar dreams! Love your work! What are the tax rates for owning a property like yours? What do you average the annual upkeep costs to be?
Hi! The property tax here is 1.4%, so it will be about US$140 per year. The other upkeep costs are for electricity, water, gas and internet. Electricity and water are almost zero if the house is unoccupied, but gas is about ¥2,000/month and internet is almost ¥7,000/month.
If you were deciding to spend on upgrading why not upgrade to a green hydrogen fueling supply for hot water and heating? A small wind turbine with a combination of solar paneling could generate enough energy to provide adequately for off grid living. You certainly get enough for your money in rural Japan.
Soon you'll be managing half the village! I'm wondering, how much would it cost to erect a prefab house like this one, with fixtures and sans appliances, on a piece of empty land?
@@Ryunohara Ah yeah I meant if *someone * wanted to buy land and plonk a hostel down with similar capacity in a rural area 😅 but i guess concrete wouldn't make business strategy sense there!
Please keep at least one room as a tatami room, it's traditional, and part of the Japanese culture, and should be preserved for future generations. It gives a room character.
Hi, I’m from SG too. I’m now in Japan as a student. I might consider buying a property in Japan or a farm land. Is it possible to get in touch with you for more information. Appreciate it a lot!
@@kelvintay1074 in Ryujinmura! My friend has to fly over to decide how she wants to do the interiors so it won’t be anytime soon now that Covid cases are climbing back up again and international travellers are still not allowed into the country.
