Absolutely love her vibe and how that's reflected in her home - clearly something she put love and intention into vs. just buying straight from a showroom. Also think the turtle analogy is so apt!
Incredible space! I live the mix of modern and boho elements. The blue entry way is *amazing!!* 😍 I love how on that wall, the candle sconces seem to match the door locks/handles/hardware, as if to not *_hide_* the typical NYC front door locks but to subtly incorporate them into the design. So many great ideas Iin her video. It would be so great if she had a channel with her DIYs.
Your space is lovely. I just wanted everyone to know that what you put on your mirror is pronounced ap-lee-kay not aplieek. It is spelled applique. I hope this correction is met with the same spirit in which it is intended. Just information and not criticism. You made a beautiful home.
So so beautiful, Meher! So lucky to be able to personally attest that this home is not only gorgeous and so thoughtfully crafted but also a safe space for an entire community to pray, connect, grow, cry and learn together. A home to so many!
1. GORGEOUS apartment! One of the best I've ever seen on Apartment Therapy! I've only ever bookmarked 2 AT videos for multiple rewatches. This now becomes the third! 2. Wow. I respect her DIY skills and thrifty duping. The faux inlay cabinet, entryway stool bench, and bedside table lamp are my favorites. Now, I hope to create something similar to her cabinet from a thriftily sourced piece of furniture! 3. *immature giggle snort* disco dick 4. I appreciate hearing a city apartment dweller saying she cooks at home a lot. I see too many impractical, barely used kitchens in décor videos and pages. It's refreshing to see a useful and used kitchen. 5. Love, love, love the peacefulness of having her multilingual prayer painting above her bed. Her whole apartment has a heartening vibe, but it really crystalizes in that one choice. 6. I covet that DIY terrarium cabinet! As soon as I move and have space for it, I'm hitting IKEA so hard and fast to set one up for my minijungle! Thank you for that thrifty inspiration! 7. Her space is so homey, charming, and luxurious while still feeling open and airy. She's found that magical balance. Difficult and rare. 8. Yes to always in progress! And, yes to storage bulging with things to swap out and create from!
Your place is cute, and the DIYs are really cool. Your bedroom is my favorite room in your space. I want to help you with the French word “applique”. It’s pronounced APP-li-KAY.
What an inspiration! You are so gifted! I can't wait to incorporate some of your ideas into my home. I esp love the blue around the door way. Gorgeous!!!
my favorite thing about this apartment is the way her office looks like an office and her dining area looks like a booth in a really nice restaurant. she did a great job choosing creative placements for those areas and the furniture in them to recreate the experience of actually going out to work or eat not at home.
I really like the use of that tray underneath the acrylic coffee table. Those clear tables are great for keeping the space open, but they lack that second shelf for storage underneath.
What a lovely space filled with personality and functionality! I moved to a smaller older apartment less than two months ago and it's definitely a process getting everything together.
I love your place! You are so artistic. The layout and room dimensions are amazing. I recently lived in an apartment that was considered the same size so I am familiar with that exact footprint. You have done such an incredible job. Thank you so much for sharing.
Hello my fellow Baha'i! The round sunset picture reminds me of the cover of the children's book about Badi and , of course, the gallery wall would not be complete without the photo of Abdu'l-Baha! Love your diys and everything you've done!
Bravo!!! My design style is eclectic and l enjoy using colours in all my spaces. We do seem to be in the minority rebelling against minimalism and neutrals 😊😊
App-pli- kay not appleaks. I don’t mean this snarky. I’ve mispronounced lots of words (usually in my head while reading) and am glad to learn the right way to say it. Love your space
Wow. I really feel so much inspiration. This feels like home to me. I have never viewed an episode that I literally felt peace and a personal connection to the space as I did right now. Sure I have seen styles I wanted to copy but often were mass produced and seen in many bedrooms and living room across the country. This was different. Unique and comfortable and really felt safe?? I honestly enjoyed every moment. Just lovely .
What an incredibly creative human! Very inspiring space. Thank you for showing us all the possibilities for getting the look you want without breaking the bank.
A great example in interior designing that expresses "who you are." I enjoyed the video and the creative development of your home pieces. You inspired me! Thank you.
Just one word: wow! I loved every minute of this, and there are so many amazing diy things I’ve never seen before. The painted arch over the door is one of my favorites!
I really like most features of your apartment. I'm a bit more "boho" in my style...color, color, color and more plants than anyone should have! Also, I'm definitely NOT a minimalist. But I have one question about the crown molding in your LR. You said something about an insect phobia (ME, TOO! and it is SERIOUS!!) but how does that tie into the crown molding? Maybe I need to do that for added protection. (FYI: Bengal Gold Ant and Roach spray is phenomenal. Only the Gold. I don't like chemicals but I hate bugs even more).
I'll bet 90% of New Yorkers wish they had this much space. Hell, I lived in a 2 BR 1 BA mobile home with 2 special needs grandkids that was only 30 more SQFT than this apartment. Ya got it made in the shade, per NYC standards.
