I rode on that original train 40 years ago with you dad's dog Scamper. Chuck (Butch) Eckerson is one of a kind and knows more about steam power than any man in America!
that is a beautiful locomotive. This has become a big thing (pun intended) lately. This is the next best thing to a full size railroad..very impressive, i love it!
That was just too cool even down to putting water in it.The baggage car was a sharp looking car.I hope you show it again after your repairs.thanks for shareing
The only thing I am worried about is that he doesnt have planning consent for a an unfenced live steam railway right next to a public footway. Theres a big safety issue here.
@JJ dryer did they get a new engine to replace the old one? Because last time I drove by I saw a new engine and the old one was gathering rust on the turntable.
I have loved this train Spence I was a kid! My parent knew these people and I have had many great encounting with this train! Really wish I had it at my house now or maybe ran a little more
I would love to have him next door to me. At least he is doing something positive and building something. My neighbors are all renters, between the drug dealing, all night parties, and high turn over due to eviction, a little toot-toot of a train horn would be great change of pace from the freak show here.
All that track out there in the front yard for the taking after dark! Great scrap value on that stuff. Excellent prank for Halloween! CASH for the the scrap track!
Nice work!!!!! Love the steam in the snow part at the end!!!!!!! Also love the sounds of a minature steam locomotive on a minature railway, blow the whistle as often as you can..... If the neighbours dont like it, move next door to me mate!!!!!
In North Hollywood, Opposite of the Park that skirted the Interstate 5 Fwy, was a house that had miniature train tracks around it, I never saw any trains though.
@@PreservationEnthusiast Nothing wrong with being a little illegal from time to time. Pretty much everyone does it & bends the rules from time to time & nobody really cares. Anyone who would complain about this is a jealous fool , a Ken or a Karen & everybody knows what the world thinks of them. This guy has a unique setup that's pure wholesome fun.
@@popples4973 Well, I would care, if I was in that neighbourhood. I would report them to the town or city authorities. I doubt he has planning consent or building control permits for any of those structures. He's got live steam next to a public footway. Unfenced with no safety precautions or notices Once they receive my complaint, they *have* to investigate. I will press for full demolition of all unauthorized equipment and return of the land to the condition it was in *before* he started building the railroad.
@@PreservationEnthusiast You sound like you're into ruining things people enjoy. Such a shame that you don't have better things to do with your life. You must be a Democrat, they like destroying things as well. smh
@@popples4973 I don't even live in America. Typical of you people thinking everyone has to be either Democrat or Republican. Life exists outside the States you know! I do know it's situated in Caspar Wyoming though, so I could make an anonymous email complaint to the City Council on health and safety grounds!
I bet it costs some hard cash too lol Either this guy's a big shot for RR or they just have a lot of $$ lying around lol, it's cool, very realistic or real, my grandson would love it!
I've seen smaller ones go for $10,000, just the engine, i am aware of several that cost between $5000 and $6000, but a few of those are nonoperational, or in need of cosmetic work, plus maintenance is a huge issue. These, like the full size ones, require a crap load of maintenance, and can blow up when improperly maintained, if you know what your doing, and you actually do it, plus you inspect the locomotive thoroughly, you should be fire, unless you run out of water in the boiler.
Any chance of more footage of this very awesome setup? Would love to see more of it! These are skills I wish I had, as that locomotive looks very scale, as well as the cars!
