when you read the manga, you understand that this specific scene is not about worshiping Sensei, but that they wanted freedom, worshiping him so that he would set them free.

@@Anomipre so the human in this world is split into 3, the flesh (the slug princess) the soul (lunarians) and the bones (gems), the soul, lunarians want to die and passed on but for them to passed on they need someone to pray for them, the human end up making 2 prayer machine the first one kongou sensei older brother end up being hostile and try to eradicate humanity since the one who created them a scientist not exactly fond of humanity so they made the second one: kongou sensei, but this time they made kongou with a bunch of restriction, in the end before humanity split into 3 the scientist sabotage kongou program so he can't pray for human, so the lunarians in the video begging kongou to pray for them but in reality he can't, kongou can only pray for animals like shiro the dog monster in the last episode

I think humanity and achmea have pretty fair share of cause. Can't blame Kongo on having an ego defect, can't force him to pray since all human died and could be more contributed to why does he not choose to reveal if it was developer's note (see chapter 97). It is Achmea who cause tragedy and conflicts within the gems.
