What an interesting looking plant. It reminds me of ribbon you swirl with scissors to get that curled effect. Ms. Frizzle and that curly hair of hers was in my home daily when my son was younger. We had the Magic School Bus books through Scholastic and also the series was shown on PBS :)

Definitely familiar with the Magic School bus! Lol. Great way to learn about science as a kid! It’s honestly a lot of fun, this houseplant! Needs a ton of ☀️

I’ve had mine for about a year and she’s doing great but has lost all of her curl. I’ve heard I should let it go into dormancy but not sure when. Should I just stop watering until it goes into dormancy (it’s early September), then start again when I see new growth?

They go dormant after they flower. Lack of curls most likely means not enough sun

Hi Tyler, I have ran into a problem with my fizzle sizzle, his leaves except for one has completely dropped. I think I over watered him because his leaves feel flimsy. I checked him for root rot and he doesn’t have it! But I am unsure how to revive him. I haven’t given him any water for 5 days now!

How much sun was it receiving? Any issues I had initially were bc it wasn’t receiving enough sun. They don’t need to be watered often, and I’ve used akadama pumice stone as my soil....
