Hi Dora, you are so right. The space is very nice and the structure is A OK, but it looks like it hasn´t been updated in about 60 years, but, it you have a couple of bucks, it would be a great place. Thanks for your comment, Bill
I was so tickled to find your channel! Buy really sad today to realize my dream of moving there has been dashed. With my pension and no other significant income, I won’t even be awarded a 6 month visa. I can afford a small place there and living expenses. Have a little savings. I’m really sad.
Hi Gail, I don´t think that is true. Any body can get in on a 180 day visa. Contact my immigration attorney and ask them. Have all of your information ready for them, I mean your income info. alvaro100@yahoo.com His name is Alvaro, send him a message and explain your situation. Let me know how that goes. Best, Bill
He’s not insane at all. It’s supply and demand. The north shore of Lake Chapala is a very desirable area and the influx of expats has driven the prices up. You’d better look to places less popular if you want something cheap.
Im a retired American living here in Cuernavaca Mexico for years. I think it's better to rent because you can move if you become bored with where you're living. I pay about $350 dollars a month for a 2 bedroom furnished apartment here within walking distance to the Zócalo.
Why do all houses in Mexico look like prisons, with bars on doors, windows, and some, as this one on top of fences? Is crime that rampant here? We aren't that paranoid here in Florida. It may be more cost effective to live in Mexico, but the fear factor (living in a barred fortress) is a real deal breaker.
Hi Jim, my father lived in Montgomery Village, 17 miles outside of Washington DC. It is supposed to be one of the nicest places to live in the United States. Dad said 55% of the houses, really nice houses, had been robbed. Mom slept with a pistal under her pillow and they keep their shot gun under the bed. There is a lot of poverty in Mexico, so people will take your stuff unless you have super security. And, the police forces down here are not well funded like in the States. If you call the Police down here, they might come, they might not. I´ve been here for 16 years and I have never had a problem. I love it here very much. But, I always watch my back. Just like I did when I was anywhere in the United States. Thanks very much for the message Jim, for every criminal, there are a million wonderful people. Best, Bill
Whatever, if you have lots of cash and you like it, people can buy it. If you have not cash, then people won´t buy it. It´s like how many Corvettes do you want, one, two, three, or none.
