Crickets from all those "Mariners are for real" delusional homers after this loss. I really do feel bad for them. They should have seen this script enough times (another early hot start for Seattle) to know how it will end (no postseason). While the Mariners mashed away against the lowly Chisox and Royals (and a slumping Red Sox team), you could easily see their pitching would do them in once they had to play REAL contenders that have great hitting AND pitching. Felix vs Verlander tonight... easy win for the Stros again. I honestly don't see the Mariners making the postseason, even as a WC, regardless of their cute little start. The Rays now look like the favorites to win the AL East. The Yankees are still very good but ran into the buzz saw that is the Astros in the previous series, and they will be competing with the Sox for a WC spot once Boston gets it turned around... which you know they will. And who knows how the AL Central will shake up, although the AL West looks like the toughest division in the AL so far. You knew once the Mariners had to face good pitching teams and their offense subsequently came back down to earth, that it will all be up to their pitching, which outside of Marco, has been shaky at best. I took a lot of grief last season from delusional Mariners homers when I pointed out that their hot month of April was a mirage and that they wouldn't hold on to a postseason spot down the stretch. Well I'm predicting it again this season, although if Seattle makes some moves to really upgrade their pitching staff without giving away much if any of their best young pieces, I may change my prediction by the trade deadline.

I mean Correa is inconsistent sometimes.
