many many years ago, i coached a single season of Little League ball... my team was an "expansion" team, and since I joined the org late, EVERY player on my team was what was left over after the other coaches took the cream. I'd like to say that I was such a fantastic coach that we whipped them all... BUT... truth is ... we lost most of our games by about 25 runs... one of my favorite memories was our catcher - a remarkably tiny little boy, after FINALLY getting the third out in a 20 run FIRST INNING while on defense, he remarked.. "well, there goes our shutout".... funniest thing I ever heard. I know just how Houston Christian players felt after this game.
