You still do the best reviews, thanks! I have been using my Hover X1 and just love the simplicity, especially the dolly track mode which records me bike touring with my face showing instead of my back. So easy to carry. Great B-roll for my travel slide show videos. The video quality is excellent. I predict that DJI will come out with their version in 2024 because the X1 appeals to those who didn't buy drones because of the cost, learning curve, and backpack full of equipment.
I like it as people don’t seem to see it as intimidating as a normal drone , walked in the park with my dogs , been to the beach and people were actually interested in it …superb
I think this thing has its place. My beef goes months back when all the hype started (late to the party Aldryn???) people were saying you don't need something like a mavic mini. OOF! The early reviewers didn't understand the difference. So it's for people who only want to shoot themselves without any real quality control. It's rubbish for any of us who use drones. Clearly they compensated you for this video in one way or another.
Hello, Aldryn; thank you for the excellent review and testing of the X1 Drone. Dang, talk about an easy drone to fly. If we remember a decade ago, this was what we hoped a small drone could do. It has a lot packed into this small package for its size and capability. The only thing is the price; you can purchase a Mini 3 camera bundle at Costco for $439. Thank you again. I wish you and your family a happy, safe, and prosperous New Year.
I bought it, absolutely luv it! I've flown DJI drone mavic, air 2. was awesome butyou still stressful! I don't wanna hold a controller while getting footage..😂
This seems like it actually does the thing that people were dreaming of years ago when drones started becoming something an average person would buy. Nothing overly fancy, but dead simple to use, pretty safe and a video quality that is so good that nobody will pay attention to it. It doesn't create anything amazing, but it gets the average person 80 Percent of the benefits of a drone in a tiny package. Enjoyed the video, I would have liked to see how exactly landing works after it follows you around.... And maybe some slightly more difficult lighting or tracking situations with two or more people in frame or the sun being lower on the horizon.
*Actually, the Record audio and background noise cancellation of the drone's propeller screeching is really, really quite impressive. There must have been a lot of research into exactly what frequencies are occupied by the propeller's screeching noise, and some algorithm has been created and implemented which automatically removes this part of the audio spectrum without encroaching on the part of the audio signal where human speech is at ?*
A very clear summary of the functions of this device - and I like how you showed that even a child can use it. I'd buy one tomorrow except my wallet is still recovering from the Pocket 3 purchase. There are a few videos out there showing the creative uses of the drone which really are impressive - I remember one where a pastor in his full regalia has the drone follow him as he walks towards his church, right through the door and up to the altar - neat!
Other than the price this is definitely something that can be used by a ton of people that just want quick videos from a drone perspective.... especially the following features, those are actually really great and easier to use than setting up DJI drones...not a bad entry...id get one to play with if it wasn't $650 up here in Canada.
This is the ultimate indoor family vacation drone. It's a flying camera. It's meant to be kept close to you. You should never intend to fly this more than a 100' ft away from you. It does not have GPS. It doesn't know where it is and can't tell you where it is. If you're an explorer, this isn't the drone for you. The safety and portability though, is dope.
Thanks for the adventure. I have to say it is a cute lil drone, yet for the monster price...nope. Maybe 99.00. C'mon, with the Mini series available starting at 249 I don't see too many sales on this one. The tracking features can be performed with the lower mini's 1,2,se just using a 3rd party app such as Maven or Litchi. Think I will pass n this one.
I've been looking around for any part 107 faq on this. (this isn't a dig on your video. great video. just my curiosity ruining everything for me) Seems to me that anyone to could get and operate this under TRUST without an issue. But the company markets this and the intent seems to be really aimed at social media. If so, you'd have to fly under part 107 and then it'd still need RFID and be registered, despite it's weight. Might be a nothing-burger, but it just seems as though everyone is ignoring it.
Yes, I am on a boat a lot. I would want it to follow me on a boat or go out and shoot me & the boat. The Hover obviously can't do that at all. Thanks for the feedback.@@gbej1
"Better" doesn't mean much unless you define the purpose which the device is intended to fulfil. This is intended for a relatively narrow range of uses and covers those very well.
@@superslimanoniem4712 But can they do the same in the same style - simplicity, no need for a phone or controller for many uses, very portable, safe and reliable, highly intelligent, etc?
@@superslimanoniem4712 Which drones can do the same, record you in the same various modes without requiring manual operation and accessory and is as portable? This drone is like having a film crew with you, while other drones (at least as far as I know) are like film equipments that requires someone / people to operate them
