I had it rough but not once have I looked at someone with nice things and got mad… I don’t see anything wrong with a parent who is able to afford nice things for their child. It’s something everyone should be happy to see, a young person getting a good start in life
Kid should have to work for it teach him a lesson my parents could have bought me my car but I decided to work to get enough money for it even while I’m highschool and bought it myself
@John Smoothiekins I’m not saying it’s good if the kid is handed everything and to do everything for them, I’m saying it’s just nice that the kid doesn’t have so much stress especially if they’re going to college. I know people who don’t have anything yet act like they deserve everything and then people who are very humble even though coming from a good family. It really just depends on that child’s take on things and that can’t be helped too much.
Good on you!! Very healthy way of thinking. Just one would hope a kid that is given gifts like this is being taught about entitlement and compassion and work. Just because mommy and daddy can afford it doesn't make baby any better than the guy or girl sleeping on the street

@John Smoothiekins you don't think kids work hard enough?? Some of them who actually put their work in try to get into into dream colleges. You can't necessarily tell a parent who to parent. If the child deserves a car they deserve it. There are other ways to teach a child how to work hard. 🤦🏾♂️

@LoveDive there is a difference between rewarding a kid for doing hard work by gifting them a car, or just gifting them purely cause they asked for it and spoiling them. For example, lets say your kid works his/her ass off to get into a good college, and have a good career, while it all depends, if you can afford a car for them its not a bad idea to give them a car if they already know the value of hard work.
As someone who went through parent issues, I’m not gonna make these kids feel bad cuz they have the privilege to have nice items. Just because they have a better vehicle than you doesn’t mean they don’t struggle in their own way. Let them be grateful they have those cars instead of looking down at them. Everyone has struggles. I talked one on one with a cheerleader you’d think have it all but she struggles with eating disorders and she got raped. Instead of saying your sob stories to paint this picture that you are better than them because you had to work harder, be happy for kids that’s aren’t like you. Period.
Legit never went to prom.. because I was working a full time job making more bank than my one in high school as a freaking welder.. and tube mill operator.. girls flaunted about the1k dresses and I could have had a custom.. 4K dress.. but I decided to save my money..
Same. I worked 8 hours a day. 3pm to 11pm 5 days a week. Got up at 430am for a parking spot. Our school was 16 miles away due to Chicago school boundaries. Still went to school 7am to 2 pm. Then 8 hours of work. Still graduated early.

What is there to hate about, if you are not the person who had to pay for it? I have seen many people, who actually vandalized & ruined other people's belongings, just because they weren't the one, who got it first! I was pretty shocked, when I first saw that! Because we live in a society that is unfair. Someone can work 60 hours a week and barely afford their apartment and others get 60,000 dollar cars purchased by daddy. Frivolous spending and living on credit deficit for stupid shit like luxury cars is part of the reason why we are in an economic downturn. Learn a little basic economic principle and you’ll understand that whether these kids like it or not they are receiving unfair privileges. They are the thin slice of demographic who get to go through life with really high expectations and no marketable skills other than clout chasing on tiktok. It’s gross to see a 60k plus vehicle given to a 16 year old when I know people who work their asses off but still have to pad their pantry with food boxes from community outreach programs.

In grade 11 I used to drive my dads GT-R33, he gave it to me as a gift since he collects cars and it was imported from Japan, I got in a hit and run and the car was in bad shape that my dad asked if he could take it back and buy me the 180sx I wanted instead.

not all the time sometimes students like me and my friends would work our asses off taking AP classes and working 6-7 hours after school to get some nice stuff and cool cars some people have more drive however i did appreciate how much these people were thankful for their parents as i am to mine …for teaching me how to live and work
Bro my dad taught me how to trade and I made 150k profit in a year and a half from 10k and I’m 16. Instead of making up excuses for being lazy how about you learn something new and start trading or make a business. And no nobody gave me that money I started working at 14 and saved up all my money.
@my account got suspended :/ Don’t get to risky put half of that in an account and make another 5k and do that twice so you’ll have 10k and than you’ll do the same thing with using 5k to make ten and so on. Just a suggestion you can be riskier if you want to earn faster but it’s just safest to do that until you earn your first 100k or at least that’s what my dad told me.

They have cars ..they have nice clothes .. they have dates and friends .. healthy and young ..they have parents ... extremely lucky .. most my life is working my ass off, tons of problems and worries .. my "newest" car is 18-year old .. my parents passed away .. not sure if I have a friend..no dates ..people be thankful

Man, my first car in high school was a '79 El Camino that my dad and I got from our neighbor for 1,000 bucks in 2015. It was a lemon and the thing ran just well enough to get me to school for the semester before it blew a head gasket and I spent half my summer break repairing it, then another 3 years dumping money and time into it to restore it, daily driving it when it wasn't all taken apart. I still have it and it's my baby, but all I can say is if you have a car as a teenager, learn everything about it and you'll have it forever. You'll appreciate it much more than you would if your wealthy parents just give you a nice car that's in good shape. There's a sense of humble pride knowing you drive a piece of shit when you're a teenager. It's a piece of shit, but it's your piece of shit that you earned and with some work and time it will become an extension of yourself that rolls down the road in style. Hats off to all you high schoolers out there with cheap, crappy vehicles. Keep that clunker running!

I've gotten to a point where people ask me how i got my car and I'm brutally honest. I'll just say something like "oh i was lucky enough to watch my father wither away and die, so got some money and bought a car with some of it" Daddy's money in a way i guess 😂
