I thought the Rogers sugar strike just affected B.C. but I guess it caused a national shortage. Costco and other stores still get shipments in, but they sell out fast. People on local Facebook groups have been sharing information when they see it in stock.
This happens in Pei every december due to everyone baking for gifts and it also happens with holiday rice krispies. So we start storing our sugar in november.
Maison Lavande candles are so lovely... the cedar lavender... its just so woody and christmasy. They also have a wood wick... it crackles. They are pricier but they are in a glass jar that are reusable... You can also reuse them to make your own candles with their essential oil version.
I love candles, I don't use matches since I played with them when I was 5 and burnt both my thumbs and pointer fingers trying to put them out. I use a very long lighter and I am scared of touching anything hot
Yes, keep giving us the fireproofing advice. My landlord is a firefighter so we get advice all the time. I always put matches in the water. Actually, I use a BBQ lighter usually. 😁 Love you!

Have you thought about trying COCONUT SUGAR instead of regular sugar? I saw it at Dollarama locally. I’m not sure how it compares to regular sugar for baking, but I’m sure Google could help you out!! 🎄🎄🎄❤️
Fireside is my fave with Marshmallow Fireside a close second. You need the electric rechargeable lighters I was afraid you were going to burn your nail, I've done that before lol.

I keep sugar in a jar that my brother or sister (his wife) bought or stole (lol) for me. Yes, I'm still laughing! I collect chickens (poultry) in my kitchen. My sugar is on the counter, we only use for baking/candy making, why on the counter? There was a time when it was a daily used item.I haven't noticed if we have a sugar shortage in Cali, there's sugar in the stores. I struggle less now that I'm older, but I still struggle. Hey I didn't know about the sugar thing. I checked and y my local Walmart in southern Ontario does not have it for pickup. And Amazon only has 400 g or 4 kg.
The Roger’s sugar factory went on strike! I just got one bag of white sugar at Walmart today and felt like I won the lottery! Still searching for brown sugar!

I also ordered from BBW, & Cinnamon Caramel Swirl & Strawberry Poundcake are two of my favourites, plus there’s also a Gingerbread candle scent that I love!! We do have somewhat of a sugar shortage out west too, but there’s still some available, in limited quantities. Have you tried Bulk Barn? Our local Bulk Barn & Dollar Tree burned down last January, & they have yet to rebuild. My friend who’s a real baker went to visit her Daughter in Kelowna recently & went to Bulk Barn there & brought a big bag of brown sugar back in her suitcase hahaha!!
