didal actually in world stage already, the second skater in the video... imagine the potential if they have the same privilege with other countries. A lot of what ifs...
Let’s gooo 15000 views and only 589 likes. This is how mike gets paid to do this. Where else are you going to get culture and bad ass skateboarding. Best content on you tube. Hands down
idk how this got recommended to me on my youtube feed (maybe because I always comment on videos about Cebu haha) but I'm glad it did, these gets me to see parts of my province I dont get to see or explore ---- i dont go out much. Glad you enjoyed!
Same here but moderate ig, tho i find it rare since i dont watch stuff skate board peeps seeing foreigners make content about other locations of PH that isnt the Capital,Boracay or Palawan is kinda rare or hard to find in my opinion
yeah but sometimes I think not having ideal environment for skateboarding what made them so insanely good, I still wish them great skateparks but it's insane how skaters from Brazil and Asia getting so good lately without having crazy parks and spots like in the States
I get what you’re saying and that is probably true. But the Brazilian who "made it " had to leave brazil. Those guys want to stay in the Philippines no matter what
@@codelunaofficial nah, they would be 100% better with proper skateparks. The talent would still be there but they could improve much faster and skate different obstacles. My wife is from Philippines and I spent a lot of time there, I went skating with the locals they were all so good but a lot of them never skated any transitions etc
In case you're in the Philippines again, a new skatepark opened up on Luzon recently. It's located on a beach town called Baler. It's on the Pacific coast. Basically, Baler is famous for surfing as it is the birthplace of Philippine surfing.Skating there has gained traction in the past few years due to big names in the skating community such as Mak Feliciano.
hi skatenomad we have a spot here in Luzon, Quezon City Philippines, at Neopolitan (NEO) Fairview at the back of SM Fairview hope to see you there when youre here again in the Philippines :) Skate Safe😇
There are skate parks here in the Philippines. But they are only a few in between so they are inaccessible to a majority of the people. Heck the only one I know of and been to is the one in Tagaytay. There are more for sure but like I said there are so few.
Just a little bit of Philippine skateboarding history. Early 70's is when the Pepsi skateboarding club showed up in the country and there was an offer of immediate membership for the price of buying a pack of Purefoods hotdog and a litter of soda. I thought that was the best thing in the world and proud to say that I was an official member of this club. Back then, the tricks were limited to wheelies, 360's, basic flips and half pipes (small ones). The membership did not amount to any privileges and just nostalgia. People have been riding the board in pinas for a very long time and one of them is in their retirement years :-)
The level is insane and style is so good! Another banger video by you bro! I really hope the gofundme skatepark building movement all around the world - @makelifeskatelife would take initiative and make a first proper skatepark in Cebu, they raised money from gofundme project from all over the world and made first outdoor concrete skatepark in Laos over a year ago for free and even hired some dudes to teach local boys and girls basics on how to skate. Anyways i am praying that they will make one park in cebu in the future under that same ghetto spot. cheers
Dont get why so much surprise for being "so good despite no skatepark" for STREET skateboarding. Most forget about the roots of street skateboarding: The street. That was also very common in places like south America. I think the particular style these guys have is because they were forged in the street
In Davao City we have Skatepark under a bridge somewhere in the downtown area. I've once been there just passing by and it's looks really fine and the kids are having alot of fun hanging around there. And guess what? It's the local government who provided it!
As a person who lives in Philippines, I am very proud to see that the location, Cebu, and the skatepark named Pajara which is showed in the video, is where alot of amazing skaters are. I quit skating just a month ago since I sold my set to get my phone fixed, it would be nice to get back to skating with friends again. Thanks for making videos of this place 😇, keep up brother and hope to see more soon.
because they are used to playing without complete facilities, so they are not lazy to try and learn new tricks, and push their limits, so they are become a good damn skater 👍
Hey man! You should see the skaters in iloilo city. Its a city in the visayas in the philippines. I have a friend named elton and enzo. Elton is a hardcore skateboarder and enzo a hardcore Bmx biker. You should go to the skatepark in iloilo. You will meet talented people
Its a Very good thing that they have PAHARA spot and can leave all there Rails and ledges there and no one stealing them (Junk boys "the Bote Dyaryo Bakal" ) , Mannn here in Manila/Cavite if you have a DIY spot and leave your Rails and Ledges expect the next day They are all gone !!! And whoever is incharge of giving them the space(Pahara spot) I salute them and thats one of the reasons why CEBU produced alot of talented skaters compare to the capital !
You gotta skate in Angeles City! Dope skate spots all over and the locals will show you a good time 🤙🏾 Qurb Skate Park and Deca Wake Park half pipe. They also got a DIY park at CGC Clark
@@Theskatenomad Yo does the Philippines have a team to skate in the Olympics? If not, man that would be amazing to build up to. Imagine how much pride and representation these kids would bring to their country.
The Philippines probably can't afford to send the kids to the Olympics. That's the top and bottom of the matter . They would do extremely well though @@Devillionaire
I remember my pinsan (cousin) we always used to do martial arts. But he got into skateboarding, he is almost always injured. One time he got home with some huge ass cut on his arm man that's crazy and he acted like it was nothing. Skating is scarier than fighting I tell ya. Then he got into bmx and now were older he does mountain trails and jumps on his expesive MTB and does GPU repair orders. Very good man
my theory behind it is that they have to get good with the fundimentals and set good on a board alot of skaters in the states need level smooth ground and ramps to skate
