Do you think demon1 wanted to stay on the main roster? I figured at least a good portion of it was his own decision, he’s going through some tough times personally with his partner’s health iirc
Given the performances of all the ex-EG players this year, I think it's becoming increasingly obvious that the combination of Potter, Zikz, and Boostio was far more dangerous then the actual firepower of EG last year. And even after the implosion of EG, we still see that these 3 are able to lift their teams - this years EG, while lacking some firepower, are still in a solid spot with Potter at the helm, and of course 100t are dominating, looking like a top 3 team internationally. I really hope we can see those three find themselves on the same team once more in the coming years, as they would absolutely cook.
its a tactical fps at the end of the day, especially in valo where the ceiling of mechanics is not high enough at the top level where there are minute differences amongst top pros. you can't really make major improvements on firepower past a certain point whereas innovation in the meta/strategy space has always room for more.
@@spoon_yes Yeah he's insane but look at how horrible lev look when it comes to team play, They loose so many "impossible to loose" rounds by just over peeking, even their IGL is so mechanically broken but they just can't play as team, if they can have some level of discipline they could become really dangerous.
sounds a lot like demon1, one of the best duelists switches teams gets all the entry thrown on them and they falter as the last team it was on was split among the whole team, only difference is, 100T stuck with their duelist and they got an igl that actually knew how to support this playstyle, maybe demon1 just needs a better igl, one who understands how this works, and isnt named ethan
It’s not Ethan. It’s a whole team issue. The entire team have won international trophies. The problem is that they have put Demon1 on solo entry, which he was never expected to do. The role of entry was always spread pretty evenly between Demon1, boostio, and Jawgemo, with Jawgemo actually taking more first contacts than him. Demon1 always excelled in late round lurking over solo entry. Honestly I think the biggest downfall issue was putting Victor on sentinel. He was known as one of the top entry duelists, and now he’s reduced to staying back and getting little gun fight time. There’s a reason crashies and Victor were considered the dynamic duo of initiator and duelist. As for Ethan, we really can’t see how good of an IGL or mid rounder he is without NRG actually being on the right roles. TLDR: can’t just blame one person, as it’s not just one person causing issues.
I think something that I would have liked to see you talk about is Eeiu, who although wasn't the flashiest pickup (or one I thought was particularly great) has turned out to be a DAWG and is performing great.
Exactly. I'm gonna be honest, during the initial days, I wasn't fond of Eeiu as he could be considered the least mechanical player in the team. However, after re-watching most of their series, I realized that a lot of the rounds' kills/info were based on Eeiu's utility, especially as Fade. His timing and lineups are insane for scouting/stalling opponents while his team swing altogether. Even in the latest 100T comm video, you could catch glimpses where he corrects his team what/where to hold an angle, clear clustered communication, etc.
That's because you don't watch Tier 2. I have never seen a team be so dominant as M80 was before the Ascension finals they lost against the Guard in NA Tier 2. Every player on that team has insane individual skill. Also Eeiu has been around the scene and I still remember an ace clutch from like 2 years ago from his stream where he was actually just fighting 5 people at the same time and one tapped everyone. That guy has always been a demon.
@@tinminator8905right they acting like M80 and Guard wouldn't dominate like 90% of the Tier 1 right now. Just look at johnqt, eeiu, and G2 (former guard)
I think Boostio on EG is underrated because his contributions got overshadowed, but Boostio & Jawgemo were key in facilitating Demon1. D1 has a similar player profile to Cryo, who also struggled carrying the burden of entry before Boostio joined 100T. Now Cryo is popping off with Asuna and Boostio facilitating him and splitting the burden of entry between the three. The opposite happened to Demon1, who received the responsbility of solo entry after joining NRG and struggling with it because that's not his favored playstyle, exactly like Cryo. Demon1 needs someone like Jawgemo, Asuna, and/or Boostio to facilitate his playstyle. I wonder why NRG don't make Victor play Raze and entry instead of Demon1. Seems like a big blunder to me.
Boostio's calling on EG was some of the best decision-making ever made in Valorant.. its incredibly premature of you to say he had more impact on 100T when EG won champs. So far, it looks like his impact is equal, as he is simply an amazing caller.
Another great analysis. Would've liked to see some takes on Asuna's performance though, I feel like his playstyle has made a huge shift to fit the team's needs.
I love these kinds of videos, keep it up man :D! For me what also stood out is the utter confidence Boostio and Zikz had in the players straight from the beginning. Boostio was very adamant that Asuna, Bang and Cryo (somewhat more obvious) were incredible players who can be Top 5 in their roles. He said all of this before the season began. For all three of these players their peaks were at least 2 years ago (even arguably 2021 for Asuna although his 2022 was great). And it never felt like cope to me, just the coach and the igl believing that if they changed the mentality and took over most of the responsibility these three would just pop off. They are now the very definition of playing to win, even if it costs them rounds and against much better opponents maps and maybe games. But they seem to have unshakable confidence that this mentality will make them better and better in the long run. Lastly, Eeiu has been a revelation to me. I knew was good from the M80 Ascension run but I really do not think any of this would be possible without him. He is their enabler and their rock. He sets up so many plays, ensures trades for every crazy fight they take and more often than not is the guy in the safer position in clutches who counters the agression of the others. If you did not get headshot by Bang, Asuna, Cryo and Boostio you still have to win against a guy who will play the clutch out intelligently and run the timer down. I really love this team and I have been a big fan since 2020. I hope they keep crushing it
it's easy to think pros are only worth their mechanics in game but especially in team environments positive mentality and teamwork, while very hard to measure and attribute to an individual, is arguably just as important
I feel like Davai is one of the most underrated players on that team and in general. He's the stable pillar of PRX, imo that allows W Gaming to thrive. Yea, he's not as flashy as jingg,Something, or even forsaken, but without him, I don't think PRX would work otherwise.
Kinda gnarly how Cryo's situation upon joining 100t mirrors Demon 1 joining NRG, both of which became the primary entry for their team when they thrived in a more duo entry, lurk playstyle. Both teams performed relatively the same as each other as well.
Nah I would say NRG were also smart in picking up Demon1, he’s just currently not on the right role. They’re forcing him to be a solo entry, which he was never expected to do on EG. Hell, jawgemo took more first contacts than him. Dying first, Demon1 doesn’t get to do what he’s good at: late round where it has slowed down and he can have calm, cold aim.
FYI were 100T failed to win VCT America then PRX wanted to pick them as their first opponent from swiss stage because there's Boostio in there. PRX knows that last year they lost to Boostio not Demon1 or Jawgemo.
Augment.gg provides me a bunch of data from events but I also just look at VLR stats for certain things, especially when deciding what to take a deeper look at
unpopular opinion, zikz was more of the savior than boostio. boostio brought in the mental and attitude for sure, but if u remember 2022 100T roster with sgares they were also very good and it was before cryo was added. they started to fumble with cryo (arguably one of the best players at that time) bcos sgares left. i think even with the 2023 roster but with a change of coach, they couldve been very good too (although not as good as they are with boostio and eeiu but they still wouldnt be bad)
FAX,idk why people treat masters like its champions ig its cuz fan favourites like fnc and sen has only wons couple of masters not champions ,thats also what makes champs interesting underdog teams like EG
@@josephjoestar6953 champion only 1 per years while master is 2 per years already prove the different and important it's like world cup and euro and league of legend champion vs MSI. Sentinel fan they are arrogant but little did they know their idol tenz haven't yet reach grand final in world champion.
@@josephjoestar6953 also EG 2023 also got the second place at tokyo master right before their world champion trophy it mean boostio still clear every FNC and Sentinel fraud. Like potter said on twitter she never lose to johnqt or sentinel you can read it again on her social
@@HenriettaAthena ye all champions winning duelist are literal goats ,aspas cNed and demon1(thanks to boostio igl ing) , tenZ only rose to fame cuz of his reyjkavak run when duelist where easier to play, but yeah champions just show better of the players than masters imo
@@daze8951 you are actually crazy if you think the fns video is the reason and not the fact that in those first 2 games Boostio had only been with the team for about 2 weeks
Basically demon1 and cryo are baiters as duelists. Why would teams want baiter duelists who don't even play duelists other than jett when they have multiple duelist players who play like a genuine entry
I was never the biggest boostio lover last year. He felt like the worst part of EG from my extremely casual viewer perspective. So when he went to 100T i didn't think much about it but honestly hes done so much work there "haters" like me gotta respect him
