tire pressure,im only 15 and just yesterday we went 4wding in mum's 90 series prado,and the main thing i noticed (when we got bogged) is that we werent even digging into the mud,just no grip,so long story short,all terrain tires can get the job done,but one of the best 4wd upgrades u can get seems to be mud terrain tyres,and remember to air down.
Well done mate , good explanation of how it all works. Just keep in mind some early Challengers/Tritons and poverty pack Pajeros had Easy Select instead of Super Select, so no running around on the tar in 4wd with the Easy Select. Dave
Tip#1 Turn off traction control when driving on sand flats,I forgot and I ended up to the sills in black sticky mud.The kids thought it was funny dad bogging the Pajero
Brake traction control by itself is good on sand, when the car doesn't let you turn off engine traction control (that cuts throttle) while leaving brake traction control on, that's an issue for offroad. I've been there, with the kids dissing me out after 20 minutes on the shovel!

Question you talking Diesel . What about petrol in high low . Why don't big 4x4 have exhausted brakes like trucks do to help slow 4x4 when towing caravan
Is it worth putting locking hubs on a modern part time system? I have a Foton Tunland which is very much based on Hylux 05-15 is manual 5 speed 2H 4H 4L selectable and daughter has a Holden Rodeo same options, and have been considering putting on that possibly for some fuel savings.
The fuel savings would be negligible. The only reason I can think to go with free wheeling hubs and a "part time kit" is to stop the front driveshaft turning on road because the vehicle has too much suspension lift and creating a vibration in the front tailshaft.
I have kia sorento 2008 model automatic 5 speed. I have second time rear diferential bearing breck, my car has only two option drive 4x4 auto and 4x4 low and is it posible to breck diferetial due to 4x4 four wheel full time drive?
@@LockyourHubs4WDing ok understood. How about those common modern ute like hilux and dmax? Those are not full time 4wd right? So if we install free wheeling hub will the ESC still work?
Usually most dual cabs only have a vacuum activated freewheeling hub on one of the front wheels, so the other usually connected front wheel might cause an issue, it depends on the design.
