@@IaloneAmTHEChoppedONE Players like Ronaldo, Rivaldo, and Carlos were better, but players like Kaká and Ronaldinho were the icons who defined what made Brazilians magical. It is hard to describe but it is just how it is.
@@EnriqueBartulac No I wasn't trying to argue who's better, my reply was about "Envision a ludicrously talented Brazilian playing with pure joy and happiness" this is literally Ronaldo
This men got arrested in Paraguay and became a guest of honor in jail, having even organizied a prision tournament with the inmates lmao srsly how anyone could dislike Ronaldinho, is beyond me. My man's a bon vivant at its finest and a beast on the pitch!
@@bobbysmurda269I can't link it but he was imprisoned for faking his passaport. The kicker is that he didn't even need a passaport to cross the border to Paraguay.
"We will never see a player like him ever again" this phrase has been thrown around to all kinds of players these days, but every time I hear that phrase I think of Ronaldinho. I do believe we will never see a player like Ronaldinho ever again and it makes me sad but also blessed because I witness his prime years
I really hope this is going to be Endrick. We indeed missed this kind of player with pure passion and joy of playing football, not just for records and trophies. Back then, we had Neymar, Kaka, Ronaldinho, and Garrincha.
@@Via_Satellite Eh, probably not. I genuinely thought he is the second coming of Pele instead, but this time lives to its hype unlike Pato or Neymar. However, still, the reason why I don't think he will go down to R9 route because The Phenomenon simply cannot be compared by any player. He has the speed of Michael Owen, the strength of Romelu Lukaku (lol), the shooting of CR7, the skills of Ronaldinho/Kaka, and, most importantly, the playmaking of Messi. He was simply that complete.
My uncle used to love watching Barcelona in 2006 and it was because of him. I was 10 years old at the time but his passion made me love the sport just as much. And i fell in love with Ronaldinho’s play style almost immediately
Maradona kissed Ronaldinho’s hands and thanked him for making him believe football has a future. Dinho could have easily been the best ever if he was focused. I can’t comprehend how he would only go to 3 out of 50 trainings and still play like he was…. Insane skills 😅
I'm a supporter/fan of Atletico Mineiro. Great video. You guys have no idea what this title meant for the club, how tears break into our faces through all the tournament, and how Ronaldinho was important for us. It was magic seen this monster of a player gave hope again for our club. Thanks for the video
Ronaldinho played international football with the same fun and enthusiasm they play matches back home with friends and relatives. Considered the amount of money stacked on their performances i highly doubt there will be any other similer to Dinho ❤ my fav football player ever
That ' s why I say he was the Garrincha of the 21 century - it seemed that he played football just for fun . Many people say that he could be even more successful or play longer if he had been more disciplined and hard working . But I think precisely this carefree and relaxed attitude were the reason for the magic he produced on the pitch . If you take that away from him you take away the essence of his game .
People forget how much of a freak dinho was. I barely got to see him play, saw him in his older days, and I still say to this day….. in terms of ACTUAL PURE FOOTBALLING ABILITY. Ronaldinho is light years away from everyone. I will die standing on that statement
its not PURE FOOTBALLING ABILITY. its the pure fun and happiness he possesses when he plays. i stand by that till my ending days. Ronhi is one of those iconic players that could lift an entire team without even trying. ask any other high talented player, did you have fun? i think most of them will say; it is work related. work shouldn't be fun. we get to do what we are told, win the match.
Those 2003-07 years at Barca were unbelievable. I'd regularly tune in to La Liga every Sunday night to watch matches just because Ronaldinho was playing. I witnessed out of this world football on those Sunday nights. Its still probably my favourite football memory ever. That Bicycle kick against Villa Real was something else. He's in my top 5 players of all time in the era that I've seen Football (Zidane, Messi, Ronaldo9 & Henry are my others. Berbatov is another player I loved to watch)
Glad you recognize Berbatov. His touch was just magical and was genuinely a world class striker in a time with many great strikers. As a Spurs fan people talk about Harry Kane but I will truly miss Berbatov.
I still remember how Ronaldinho would play for smaller leagues in Concacaf and even played a charity match in Guatemala playing for the two biggest teams in the league, Municipal and Comunicaciones, and being a sight to behold for the entire game. He truly was one of a kind.
@matthewhernandez8342 Yes by that point he had retired from Querétaro and would play in friendlies and charity matches, but despite his age he was a joy to watch.
I still miss his passion, skills and smile in today's game.... forever my best player...i was fortunate to watch this man throughout his entire soccer career...what a joy and what a blessing...generational talent
Brother, this might be THE BEST Ronaldinho documentary sort of video ive ever watched, been able to go back to those times remembering everything that happened, especially as a Flamengo supporter and that wathced him becoming south american champion with Galo, is just incredible to re-watch all that, thank you so much!! FLAMENGO X SANTOS IS THE MATCH OF THE CENTURY!!
Ronaldinho was too great for him to manage. It drove him crazy. Its hard man, people around you treat you like a god. Very hard to stay grounded. Watching him was amazing.
It doesn't matter to me how hard he fell. When i was a kid, this man alone inspired me to play football. Instead of doing drugs or drinking alcohol as some of my classmates did - i was enjoying my time training at the nearest futsal base for kids. Sadly, when i was 15 or 16, i injured my leg (which still hurts if i run for too long) and couldn't hold up to other kids and quit. As he retired - i stopped watching football and even playing fifa. Ronaldinho is the one and only. There won't be anyone like him anymore.
I am Argentian and think Ronaldinho is one of the greatest Brazilian players of all time, he helped Messi in Barcelona and he is very humble with everything he went through, thank you Ronaldinho!
I'll never forgive Felipão for not taking Ronaldinho to the 2014 World Cup and putting 100% of our morale on Neymar, what came after was a given, without Neymar Brazil was just a bunch of nobodies, the team's spirit was completely broken after he got ruled out.
@@ps123fan The thing is, in 2010 Ronaldinho wasn't needed,I think he would've helped, but the team's morale was fine, with or without him. In 2014, without Ronaldinho, the team's morale relied 100% on Neymar, and that was fatal.
@@NGU7754 Not completely. Yes, Neymar was a major part, but he was just a wonder kid. A major point overlooked is that their Captain Thiago Silva was on a red. That pretty much made them get crushed. Thiago was experienced, probably the most in that squad. Both of them were equally important and the two reasons which led to that embrassment
It was not just on neymar. Thiago silva hold that back line like a warrior when he is on that team. Without him it was a complete mess at the back line. That's why germany steamrolled over them.
I think the fact that Ronaldinho wasn't taking it to seriously and looked like he was just there to have fun was what made him such a good player and a joy for the spectators. It may have stopped him from becoming the best there is but we sure as hell won't forget about him.
No man has ever kicked a ball better than Ronaldinho. He is without a doubt the most talented, most entertaining and most iconic player to ever play football.
Ronaldinho is the reason why we distinguish between "Greatest" and "Best". The Greatest is up to debate in most sports (outside of some Track & Field sports or American Football), same with Football. You can argue Christian Ronaldo, Messi, Pelé, Buffon, hell you can even make a case for Ibrahimovic. But there is no question as to who the best ever is. It's Ronaldinho.
I understand what you are trying to say, and dont get me wrong, I am not trying to insult you in any way, but that's just wrong. Greatest and best are synonyms. There is no real difference between using the two. Tbh, I don't think there is any reason to compare any of the greatest football players. There has never been and never will be a greatest of the sport. There is however a whole category filled with the best players we ever had. People like Maradona, Pele, Messi and Ronaldinho are in this Tier. They are just era-defining characters. Masters of their art. They are almost super-human. But they are different from one-another. Messi isnt like Ronaldinho and neither of them are/were like Pele. They are all legendary players and awe inspiring people.
Prime Ronaldinho is a better winger than prime CR7. Possibly the greatest left winger to even play the game and it's scary to think what he could have done had he been more professional.
Only problem is his prime lasted 1/3 of Ronaldo’s. I think bad decisions played a part, maybe partying, but in the end what if’s don’t matter. Let this be a lesson to the youth today.
Ronaldinho is who made me love football and I’ve been there during the Messi v Ronaldo events. He made football look like so much fun and his charisma was outmatched. Wish he took his career more seriously but Brazilians love to party but that’s okay. Love them so much!
im 27, i still remember that match Ronaldinho vs Neymar, just like you showed, full of iconic moments, puskas goal, gk making fun of the penalty kicker, open goal miss, ronaldinho scoring under the barrier, most iconic match i watched in my life, after that match every free kick close to box, 1 guy lies down behind the barrier, nothing else i can say
Noone ever was able to charm with tricks like him. Those actually gave him advantage in top matches. Dont tell me Messi, C. Ronaldo, Ronaldo or Maradona was same level cause they werent. Of course they were better physically, but Ronaldinho was pure magic and his goals and driblings are amazing.
Beautiful narration. You had me pinned to my screen from beginning to end. While this teaches so much about the importance of discipline, it also reminds us that no matter how bad things get, it is never too late to stand up and fight back. In the end, it is what you believe versus what others say about you.
thank u bro for ur content.... idk if u hear this enough, but u are the Ronaldinho of Playerprofiles. Muito Obrigado. u light up my time with stats and storys of Footballs finest. by the way Jorge Costa wasnt in ur library as i might remember, right? how mourinho spoke about him at porto is everything i need to hear from him^^
Ronaldinho is the reason I watched football. That libertadores campaign was something else, Bernardo was so tired that he had to step on the side lines on the extra time. What a game. Dinho was magic
I mean that "retired man" that he lost to is one of the greatest players of all time. Top 5 of all time imo. Ronaldinho probably doesn't make my top 20. Still a phenomal player though
@@Via_Satellite Fair point and quite possibly. But, at the same time Ronaldinho doesn't come close to Ronaldo Phenomeno for me to give an example. Not to mention space for all the best defenders in history...Ronaldinho is a great player...be he ain't no Cruyff.
he didn't approach football like a business where he needed accolades. he played for the joy and beauty of it. approaching the game like ronaldo would've made him miserable.
so let me tell you this, Atletico with Ronaldinho played against Rogerio Ceni's Sao Paulo in the Libertadores, I am a Sao Paulo Fan. second game we only need to win one null to advance, I went to a bar with some working collegues to watch the game, he humilliated Sao Paulo. thing is, I was happy to watch the show, tbh I was pissed, but not because we lost, but because my woring collegues would not fucking shut up and let me watch the game. Yes I was piss, but because I needed to rewatch the game to see the beauty of Ronaldinho, Bruxo é Lenda.
11:26 one cool fact is that Ronaldinho won the golden ball, but Neymar was so far beyond everyone else that season that he was named "hors concours" golden ball winner, meaning that he was so much better than anyone that would make no sense to include him in the regular election. The only other player to receive such an honor in the history of brazilian football was The King himself. Crazy to think he was only 20 yo by then.
Named "hors concours" by unofficial brazilian journalists. Nothing relevant, here. *Ronaldinho Gaucho has always been a better player than Neymar* , _less preoccupied by his instagram image than having fun on the pit._ *He also has always been a superior talent, a greater potential.* The only quality he was lacking was ambition. *Ronnie is still, to this day, the greatest Brazzo of modern football,* with only Pelé who can compare (in another era, tho, which makes the comparison pretty irrelevant).
@@TheSoleDweller Not unofficial though, since the same institution that awarded Ronaldinho the Golden Ball, named Ney hors concours. But i do agree with you when you say that Ronaldinho was a better and more talented player than Neymar, but from my point of view that makes Neymar's feat even more impressive, rather than less.
Fantastic video. There are some mistakes, but I really liked the video. This is a very nice part of his career that outside South America is not well known. Ronaldinho got fired and brought back by Kalil in 2012, before a Brasileirão match against Vasco da Gama. The story is what is in the video, but happened in august 2012. In april 2013 he was called for the national team and showed up late to the hotel (and maybe drunk, we´ll never known) before a friendly match against Chile in Belo Horizonte. He played a very bad game and the press said that this was the reason he doesn´t played for Brasil at Confederations Cup and World Cup. The I BELIEVE chant thing started at the Libertadores semi finals agains Newells Old Boys, when the lights went off. The stadium was all in the dark and the fans started chanting EU ACREDITO (I believe) like a mantra.
@@AngshulMajumdar Nope, he retired in February that year, hence before the national championship even started. Maybe do some research before next time?
bro, i am an atletico mineiro fan and that video almost made me cry. This was for sure the greatest libertadores ever, the "i believe" chant always make me shiver
Till this day i argue that He is best player in football history. There have been prolific scorers yes, but what this man was can only be described as a one of a kind GAME WINNER
Ronaldinho is an artist. He might not be the best footballer, may not be the most consistent player but hes the most beautiful player in football history.
Man, your videos are really good. im fron brazil and i can tell that you really did a good job searching. i appreciate the effort you put into your videos
I believe that Brazilians of the time like Ronaldo, Rivaldo, and Carlos were better players, but players like Ronaldinho and Kaká were more pure players. I can not quite describe it but just the flare and watching them it is just different if that makes sense. Those special moments they offer too.
For 2 or 3 years ronaldinho was football. If you missed that part of his career you missed something special. It wasn't just the highlights, it was the anticipation of what he would do next.
Prime Ronaldinho was one of the best players i ever saw. He was beter then Cristiano Ronaldo, Robben and Messi. Only Zidane, Maradona and Ronaldo were better at there prime.
Had no inter3st in football growing up, but even I whenever I saw Ronaldinho play couldn't help smile. His joy of the game was THAT infectious and he is still, to this day, the one player I remember and admire of the sport
One cool fact. He was the first youtube video to hit 1mil. Dude was hitting the crossbar like nothing! Ronaldinho is and forever will be one of the best.
This is truly tragic. Even in Europe Ronaldinho is massive. I remember playing fifa street for hours with this man as my favourite. Im glad Ronaldinho got somewhat back but I would've loved to see him play in the Prem.
Ronaldinho was a player type who we have lost to time, someone whose number one priority, is just having fun. Not training, not making perfect passes, not being the fastest, not having the strongest shot. But being the best in what he thinks is fun.
What other world class elite sportsman, would have a clause in their contract that they can go clubbing, drinking , and partying 2 nights a week? 😄 Total legend. This is a great video showing some of the context beyond his highlights videos. Well done.
It's incredible how this guy dives deep together all these info. I've created a similar RU-vid channel and the work is not easy. You all should acknowledge him and leave a subscribe 😊
I grew to love soccer because of this man. Learned every skill by replying videos of him. No doubt in my head that this man and not messi or ronaldo is and was the best player to ever play the game
