Time to get to work! In today's vlog I will show you my morning routine. I had to get up at 5am and leave home in time for my 3 hour trip to work. In this video I will show you some cool tricks around getting ready as a blind person. Unfortunately I must keep the location of my work privet, but I hope you find this enjoyable anyway.

It’s great to see you again and very nice details on your video. I find it surprising and how many little things we do that seems second nature. Nice job and I hope this finds you well

Happy and safe travels Mel enjoyed you getting ready routine. Mornings almost being organized but also worried about forgetting something or missing transport I can definitely relate to that.

Yeah, it's totally relatable, I accidently put on my paddock boots this particular morning rather than my good boots... Thank goodness nobody noticed.

Oh my goodness, that is so exciting! Congratulations. I wish you best of luck in your journey and remember I’m always here if you need someone to talk to. Just remember, easy‘s a physically and emotionally demanding experience. While you are there, make sure you establish a good routine for yourself and the dog, especially a good sleeping routine and a good toileting routine for the dog so that you can translate that over when you get home. Make sure you eat plenty of nutritious food, which is what they usually provide, and look after your body. I am so happy for you, I can’t wait to hear about your progress.

@@melStephens1994 hi Mell. I just saw this, I’m only checking emails and notifications now since I’m home didn’t have much of a chance to during training. Thanks so much for your support. You were so right, I knew it would be physically and emotionally demanding, but I had no concept of just how much and it was really difficult to find time and energy to take care of myself while I was also taking care of my dog. We’re home now though it was very happy about and I love her. I’ll send you an email with more details later. Thanks again for your support.

Three hour ride? Wow that's in sane! Isn't there a paratransit service where you are that can take you to and from your destination? We have them in the U.S.

Do you mean something like a taxi? We have Taxies and Australia, it’s nearly 150 km to my work though, which is million 94 miles. We have to pay for our taxis out of pocket so it would probably cost me about 80US or more. I like touching public transport, it’s good for the dog and it gives me time to relax, read my book or listen to music. If I didn’t have the opportunity to do those things before work, and afterwards, I think it would make my day a little bit more stressful.

@@melStephens1994 94 miles? Wow what a long way to work! It would cost a fortune for me to work that far. I work locally. Whatever works best for you is what matters though.

Yeah, I just go where the work is, which is important if you work for yourself, like me.

Hi Jordan, great to hear from you. I’m glad to hear that your issue has been resolved, it’s very frustrating when technology doesn’t work for you.

This particular job was supporting a student with low vision to access his school curriculum and helping the teachers manage changes required to assist the student.
