Yeah I mainly just play quick match when I play siege and when I use lion with a few friends and we coordinate drones and pushes it is very useful, especially if my friend is playing jackal

not only would you save a lion scan that could potentially change the outcome of the game later on in the round, you also get a free kill when prepared.

In the case you can't stay still, it'll probably be due to the enemy knowing your location. Not always, but most of the time. We never had any issues with Lion in Ranked. Wasn't as bad as what people were saying at the time. It's a little bit worse now I find, with the speed of the activation now.

@@SirBigWater yeah I agree there, honestly I think cav is more busted than lion. Sure she has to have a downed enemy, but she doesn't even need to down anyone herself, she can just team with a frost. And it's not even tied to movement like lions gadget is. There's no counter to cavs wall hacks. I think it should be taken down to just pings, just like they did to lion

It's risk and reward sure, but it can still be just as mindless as lion. At the end of the day it's still wall hacks for the entire team.

WALRIDER - I like the game now. I feel like they’re trying to move the operators away from the “press button = influence” thing that happened with lion and other ops. Look at Wamai. He’s Jäger but African and requires more skill.

Both Lion and Finka seemed WAY out of place, noone talks about Finka because she's almost useless, but the ability to heal EVERYONE at a distance with the touch of a button, while having passives like less recoil, ability to tank flashes, walking faster through wire, etc (again, to EVERYONE, INSTANTLY and without risk, skill or counter). seemed so out of place they looked like their design was outsourced, made by people who had no idea what Siege was.

I hate finka especially when I’m in gun fight then a random surges me and all of sudden I have no recoil

@@crazytigerspy9420 i play finka sometimes, when i want a bit more of an impact for my team at large (i typically play Kali, though i played finka more than glaz) or i know the map doesn't favor long range weapons. finka is one i either surge when i hear gunfire starting up, if i see a downed teammate, or if i am about to enter a doorway/window on/near objective. i also do it if someone asks for it. her ability is a very hit-or-miss one, but yea its not one that has much finesse to it. honestly a large part of why i pick finka is because i like the spear 308. its not a fantastic weapon, but it just feels right to me. one thing i to this day don't understand is i had a teammate who i used adrenaline surge on as they got downed (i pressed the button before they went down, but the delay was just enough) complained that they got revived by the surge because they had no health. this person was the only one attacking from the area they were at, so nobody would have gotten there before they were executed anyway.

Yeah, I played during that time as well, was actually pretty high elo so I got the blunt of Lion. I wouldn't call it a Rush meta, as Rushing really wasn't a meta and has always been in the game. I believe back then, it was simply called "The AIDs Meta."

It’s prob just nostalgia but the rush meta was sort of fun to play when you compare it to today’s utility dump. The Lion, Ying, Jackal, Doka, Blitz lineup was aids but funny.

His gadget didn't counter shit. The radius of the jammer was so small you were essentially standing still anyways. If a nade landed on one edge, you'd still die if you moved as far away as possible while staying in the jammer range.

@@deshthewraithLoL As far as i remember Mute's jammer range was increased WAY before lion's release, but i could be wrong, i remember it being smaller, but the thing is that it did counter it, i used it a lot so the memories are kinda blurry when it got the range increase.But the only thing i remember is that lion was only busted in pro-plays, but in regular ranked it wasn't even useful at all, even in plat. Maybe in diamond, but i dunno about that. Sidenote: Mute jammer range was increased in 2016, june 21 Lion came in at March 6, 2018 so yeah, the mute jammer range was surely increased. Also if you worried about nades just still stating it "Jager had a 100+ pick rate since the start of r6 and back then took out 3 grenades"

@@toelighters9416 well it heavily depends on what rank and trust factor you have. You'll find a lot more cheaters in the lower ranks than in the higher ranks. And depending on your trust factor, you can find lots of cheaters. :)

I mean, tbf, it makes a little bit more sense in a game like valorant bc your ult is an ability you have to build over time with skill-based factors like kills and plants. Obviously an ult can still be broken tho. In siege your abilities are free and in the case of lion he got 3 per round EVERY round.

He got nerfed into the ground like a year ago. He is nothing like that anymore. He is pretty much useless now. You never see him played anymore.

When people say they miss old siege, they're mostly talking about Y1-Y2. This, I remember, was just oppressive as shit and was not fun to play at all. When people say that though, you need to take into account all the factors, Lion was really the start of people saying that because like KIXSTAR said in that one clip, he was the beginning of the Overwatch mentality of "Push a button, turn the tide of the round."

Yeah but I really hate when comp players begg for a change when the people In casual are just fine I think that games like siege need two versions one that is for esports and one that is for casual shiters just trying to have a good time

@@firefightszz speaking to your first point is why siege is so popular because damn near every strategy works as long as you cane execute it well enough and this game might not be faced paced compared to games like halo, destiny, or cod it can still become fast paced depending on the strategy. Which is a huge reason this game is so popular because of its strategy concept and why its bent towards competitive play over casual

Wonder boy yes but I wouldn’t say it was made for competitive because as you can see on RU-vid there is a big fan base of people who just mess around I’d say it’s a great game in general and Ubisoft tried to make a game that was tactical yet can be silly at times

agreed, thank god i seen this before the coppers got to you 1st. Defense has become op altogether and attack needs something to really counter that. Zero tho he might be attacks saving grace. Also we need an attacker sided map or just get rid of some reworks to make it balanced bcuz most reworked maps have become defender sided. They don't make attackers and defender like they used to, give us another Sledge, Ash, IQ, Fuze, Lion, Smoke, Castle, Rook. Not Exactly like them but close enough, similar to ops that copy Thermite like Hibana and Ace.
