She was never a "simple chinese girl." Simple chinese girls do not become deputy CEO's. She was always a remarkable, strong, and beautiful woman who sadly married a playboy prince.
@@svanimation8969 : How is she to know such things, in such a tiny little country..... 😂..... What do people suppose small country people get up to ? ... Oh dear...
Simple Chinese? There was NOTHING simple about Alexandra. She is European/Chinese mix, raised in a wealthy family in Hong Kong and she is highly educated. So let’s be real, she wasn’t some “simple” average random Chinese girl was she 😂
Right, when royals marry a "commoner"they are usually not "common" at all. Like daughters of high ranking politicians. Like Queen Maxima, also learned dutch at a staggering rate, smart. Luckily a loving couple still.
No, racist. White people never want to claim anyone as part of their race if they are not "pure" white. They view the other half of that person's race as less than.
Correct Hong Kong was British at the time so she was never Chinese. She has about 25% Chinese ancestory as her father is of English and Chinese ancestory and her mother is Austrian.
Alexandra's paternal grandmother Frances Blanche Madar was born to an apparently Persian Muslim father and a Persian Muslim or Jewish mother Sarah Shirazi. Their many children were baptized Anglicans in Hong Kong. Her grandfather William Manley was half Chinese. His mother was Mary Ho Li. Her mother was Austrian of mostly Czech and/or Slovak ancestry. Definitely multiracial. These were the years when a Danish prince married a woman from Hong Kong, a Liechtenstein prince married a fashion designer of Afro-Panamaian ancestry, and the Japanese crown prince married a multilingual Japanese diplomat. The second and third marriage endure, although Masako had a very difficult time.
That is incorrect. Her grandfather was 50% Chinese. Her father, Richard Nigel Manley, was 25% Chinese. She is 12.5% Chinese. Her two sons are 6.25% Chinese.
I don’t like this title, she “struggled’ to marry, she didnt’ have to marry him, it wasn’t like she was a starstruck poor “girl”, of Asian ancestry, she was an accomplished woman in her own right.
She is only one quarter Chinese and three quarters Eurasian. She's highly educated and accomplished. Her ex-husband is a playboy prince. He is lucky to have her. He didn't cherish her.
Hard to cherish someone cheating on you. She cheated with a family friend, a young photographer called Martin Jørgensen, who was rumoured to have fathered her second son. She left the Prince for that photographer, married him and went on to divorce after a few years. She is now suing that second husband photographer of hers for fraud.
Why did she dated a man of 16 younger than herself? That is insane.. I didn't even know that such history exists in the EU.... I mean.. I thought that the Trump thing was odd. IS this another typical.. tabloid PR thing ? Make sure that a series of ALL celebrities and politicians to literally have an affair with somebody younger, ALL at the EXACT same time ???..... The French president. The US President. The America Soros.... who is now onto his God knows how many wives. Same with LKS as well... I bet that they are more like their secretary , than it is their wives or partners. Cos that would've made sense. Need to stop with these obsessions !!! Lol....
@@mamahustru BS. Her second son, Felix is the spitting image of his father, Prince Joachim - who was know as the playboy prince and had a drink problem. She got tired of his ways and found someone to comfort her but she had bad luck again with the second husband.
That is incorrect. Her grandfather was 50% Chinese. Her father, Richard Nigel Manley, was 25% Chinese. She is 12.5% Chinese. Her two sons are 6.25% Chinese.
But if you didn’t know her history, you see her walking outside you would not think she is European native. Unlike Diana for example, even if you didn’t know her history; you’d know she is full European
@@aizac91 because everyone thinks only of blonde and blue eyes, but in general Europe have full of mix colours, lots of brunette w/blue or brown eyes or blonde w/brown and blue eyes.
@@rosehooper7067 but what about Monica Bellucci she is not blonde or blue eyes and I immediately know she is European native. Or how about the Spaniard woman leader Ione Belarra? She is not blond and yet I look at her face and I know she’s European ethnic native. Or how about Sophia Loren she is not blonde and blue eyes and I know she’s native European. How about King Felipe of Spain, neither of those traits yet I know he is a native European male.
@@rosehooper7067 the reason why I said Diana is not because of her eyes and hair colour traits. Is her look phenotype of the face. See her nose, the shape of the eyes, the jaw, the lips. This lady eye shape exposed she has Asian traits.
@@rosehooper7067 I gave the Diana example not because of the colour of her eyes and hair; but rather her facial phenotype. This princess (the one who married Dane royalty) eye shape is not what you see on non-mixed European people.
hong kong was and is part of china the brits just stole the land and claim it as thier colony thats it. wasnt thiers historically and never will. If hong kong is not part of china then is malaysia under britian because they too used to be part of british colony.@@luxpursuits
She was born in Hong Kong and not China. Hong Kong was not part of China then, but a British territory. That status only ended in 1997, after she had left. She was a British citizen until she became Danish. She was never Chinese.
Is being a Chinese a shameful matter?I am proud ti be a Chinese n i respect all nationaties to be equally precious cutizens of the world without discrimation!
My friend from Hongkong at that period would be incensed if I called them Chinese implying they are from mainlaind China. I would call them Hongkongnese. Just as I would call Taiwanese for friends from Taiwan. And Belarusian for friend from Belarus. I once called them Russian and was promptly reprimanded.
I think Prince Joachim lost the best thing to ever happen to him..... He must have been crazy to start partying, womanizing, not treating her good....She was gorgeous, highly educated, gave up her life for him, and worked for Denmark . What more could he want?? He really screwed up...
He definitely did, takes a lot for a woman to leave her career and family behind to come to a strange land, he should have treasured her and work on his marriage instead of fooling around and ended up marrying a white washed replica of Princess Mary, not half as stunning as Princess Alexandra
Er . . . she's Eurasian, more European than Chinese. And she wasn't a "simple Chinese girl." She's from.a well--to-do Hon Kong family and had a successful career that put her in a position to socialize with royalty."
She is absolutely NOT 'a simple Chinese girl'. She is a biracial woman of Chinese and European background who comes from a wealthy HONG KONG family. Her mother is 100% EUROPEAN and her father is 50% European and 50% Chinese. The scion of Wealthy Hong Kong families are well-travelled, well-bred and well-educated, often speaking 3 or 4 languages. Please be very careful with your descriptions and narration.
She has a good mindset. Smart, a go getter, do what she needs to yet maintain a calm lifestyle n a good mother. Brilliant!! She got it, she's made it, she deserves it. The ability to be such n also able to let go at times makes her so admirable.
Such handsome sons. It's so American to call her Chinese. I have an American friend who said that I speak English well, just because I have a different accent. English is my first language and I teach it.
Still chinese only folks like you who are ashamed of yourself don't like the fact Hong Kong has always belong to China. It was occupied by the brits but still Chinese.
She speaks German. Therefore, it was not too hard for her to learn Danish. And when she engaged with Joachim, she immediately started picking up Danish because she said it was not right to engage Danish people without speaking their language.
She is so much better than the Prince in many ways. She is neither simple nor struggling. She is well educated, loved by many and most importantly, she is happy at the end of the day. Best wishes for her ❤.
The second wife looks like a white washed Princess Mary. She sacrificed her life to come to a strange land he should've appreciated her more and not continue his playboy ways
She is not an "ordinary Chinese girl" or "a simple Chiense girl" as you keep calling her. She has 1/4 Chinese heritage and was born in Hong Kong. Hong Kong was still under Britain's rule until 1997. Do your research and don't be so biased.
An immature comment. I'm not sure how slamming one woman's intelligence and looks is an accolade for another person. Unless you think sexist remarks are ok.
Good for her strong sturdy feet emotionally balanced. Look at her children non had any resemblance of any Chinese, but she is still remained beautiful❤
Her older son looks Asian they all look somewhat Hispanic and that’s the blend that they have anyway the only one that doesn’t is the one that’s blonde she looks Peruvian. He looks Mexican making marbles’s kids don’t have any semblance of Negro in their physical appearance as Megan did, neither outside of her hair texture, and somehow, she’s on par with lupita myomgo
@@IamHandsome4u : Really ? .... I never see him as Chinese, ever. I don't know why. But he does have that First Nation look of Canada... It's funny, isn't it ?... What we associate and don't associate... etc. (And a lot of Hong Kong'ers now... look quite "Indian" and not "Cantonese/Miao" look any more either... Short, cute, and round. They're dying out too.. as inter-marriages happen across all of SE Asia... So... All of the "white people look" are being bred out. lol.... I suppose, nobody would think about whether some people are their cousins any more before marrying. 🙂😆 Quoting Star Wars..."I am your father-er-er-er-er".... Poignant, of the 21st Century. lol.... 🤣....
Her looks? She has mixed European. She looks like that because of her mixed European side. The European side is what gave her that look as clearly she look not fully Chinese or European
Marriages take a lot of work from both sides and is even more complicated for royals and really famous public figures. Sadly it did not work out for her but life goes on and maybe she is happier being single as marriages take a lot of time, compromise and many other things.
Everyone debating how many parts of this that or the other she is - you're missing the point. It's that she has dignity and grace and is a dedicated and decent person who has done her best to do her duty to her adopted country - despite life's challenges, and without complaint. She's exactly what being Royal is supposed to mean - beyond the elegance etc... which she has, anyway, in abundance.
Don’t focus on skin colours. We’re all human beings who bleeds the same colour. Walks into hospitals and other facilities, who’s working? Also, go to nursing homes. Who’s looking after your unwanted elderly while you’re waiting for their money when they dies????
Misleading. She wasn't from China. She was born and raised (till 17) in pre-handover British Hong Kong. Racially, she's at most a quarter Chinese. Not a Chinese girl from China.
The older son married a woman he met in a pub in Australia! They seemed to prefer women from outside their own country and culture, unlike the British royals.
There is a "rule" in the Danish royal family that you don´t marry Danes. The royal family is originally from Germany - which makes the Danish royal family not Danish AT ALL.
I heard queen Margrethe say that it is because everyone has some embarrassing family story, some crazy uncle somewhere. If the family is in a different country, they are less likely to be brought to the surface. But in this day and age with the www, that rule makes no sense anymore. Will be interesting to see who the next generation marries. Joachim´s oldest son, Nicolai, isn´t married yet, but he lives with a girlfriend he knew since his high school days. She is Danish.@@roswb5388
I likes her, she was a fresh breeze to the old danish monarchy, the Queen seem to like her lot. Joachim and Alexander moved to Sønderjylland (Møgeltønder), which near the German border. We saw Them offen in down, I personally meet Them in our local marked Kvicklys in Tønder wear Joachim stand behind me with his bodyguard. I think the little city was to smal for big city pair as these two, they move back to Copenhagen and years after his divorce from Alexander he sold the Castle in Møgeltønder.
😊🙏 Thank You So Much for sharing these little known news of this Royal Danish Couple! Many Happy Good Blessings in Return to You & Loved Ones! 🌷🌿🌏✌💜🕊🇩🇰
I have always admired Alexandra of Denmark. What you left out of your video is that Prince Joachim began his affair with Marie Cavellier while he was still married to Alexandra. He is the one who asked Alexandra for a divorce so he could marry Marie.. He is a disgusting, spoiled playboy and he French wife Marie was a seductress. She knew he was a married man when she became involved with him. Also Alexandra and Mary, Frederics wife got along beautifully while Marie is in competition with Mary. Tell the facts as they really are..
100% true...Im aware through the Royal family that Alexandra had to work hard to win the Queen over...she adored Joachim and truly thought she could stop his excess's and pull him together. He behaved very badly and Now look at him !! Kicked out in all but name... and sadly and I feel wrongly; The Old Queen...disinherited his children and took away their titles...For all that Prince harry has done...far worse then Joachim !! His father has allowed hm to keep his titles and rank in the line of succession, after all there meaningless in effect! Freddy has three children.
For those not of mixed ancestry, you don't know that people will associate you with the features that are most prominent even when you celebrate everything. I am a Black woman & I identify as such, but I too am mixed with English & Asian ancestry.
Alexandra is amazing. A highly educated and successful career wise, she is the epitome of grace, beauty and success. Prince Joachim was lucky to have met and married her.
Princess Alexandra, who divorced Prince Joachim in April 2005,married her companion of two years Martin Joergensen on March 3 2007, the royal palace has announced. Joergensen, 27, who was 15 years' younger than the 42-year-old princess, is a photographer who has done several portraits of the Danish royal family.
my grandma always told me to marry men that are older at least 3yrs older because men tend to emotionally mature slower than women. I took her advice with a grain of salt dismissing it as old wives tale but after watching this video she might have been on to something.
@@Wmuthoniyour grandma is correct. Girls matured earlier than boys. Don’t forget biological clock too. When you’re 25-30 years and ready to settle down, a man with the same age, just finished university, first years of work, still figuring out if he meets all as his expectations right. And if not, he has still things to search. There is of course exceptions from general view but when a man is a child, he won’t be able to support your emotional well being and you will be his 2nd mother rather than a wife. Best example : Harry and Meghan.
@@Wmuthoni : One mother of a close friend said... "May, always marry somebody that loves you more than you love him"... I didn't get it then.. but yeh.. I can see why... When basically, both of you are broken... already to the point that you don't want anything else in life, she means. By then, most people would've given up... But then again, she did say that in her old age... with two children already. So... what do you make of life ? Listen to the elders, would result you in being muddled. And confused too. But running off doing your own thing, sometimes also means trouble... so.. it is chicken and egg either way. And there isn't any way that... well.. there just "isn't".... so....
This case is a real-life fairytale with a twist, showcasing that real happiness in royal marriages might be as elusive as in any other. Alexandra’s ability to maintain her dignity and focus on her philanthropic work post-divorce is admirable
Both her son's had their titles changed from Prince to count last year on orders of their grandmother the queen. Their younger half siblings are likewise no longer Prince and princess but again count and countess. If you want any credibility as a royal reporter you simply must be able to have the correct titles in place and address these four children of Prince Joachim by the titles that their grandmother bestowed on them. Poor reporting from this source.
Why are they calling her Chinese when she’s obviously not just Chinese I mean she could be called Polish or the other quarter of what her father is for that matter why would the channel choose to call her Chinese? She’s of mixed race.
Alexandra Manley was NOT a simple Chinese girl - she’s not even a full-blooded Chinese! She’s a highly educated and accomplished woman of English, Austrian, and Chinese ancestry. She was born in Hong Kong when it was still a British Dependent Territory so most likely she was a British citizen for her whole life prior to marrying Joakim. Clickbait with a sprinkle of racism at its best.
@@germainemullen4975 , yes, Henri was the son of the Comte de Monpezat. Strangely enough I knew the family very well. I went to the same school as Henri's sisters. The Comte was not particularly well off, his castle was in a poor state until it was renovated after Henri and Margrethe married. The queen often spent holidays nearby. She often visited the local shops, with two good looking bodyguards in bermuda shorts waiting outside the shops. I once saw her entering the local parfumerie (beauty shop).
At that time, Alexandra was portrayed as a British woman from Hong Kong with Chinese and Austrian ancestry. Joachim, who was then working for Danish shipping company Maersk, was seen as a possible king if his playboy brother Frederik kept dating models.
And she's MIXED - as already pointed out by others. Not ethnic Chinese per se, unless applying the "one-drop" rule (which would presumably also make her sons "Chinese" i suppose lol)
@@Jvel-bq6qxyou can laugh but look at all the Korean/Chinese artist and even commoners East Asian changing their nose to look closer to the European type
